Is there a stock of torches at home or wood suitable for manufacture of a reasonable quality torch. If so then head home. Otherwise look for some torches or suitable wood for torches.

Granny Naomi buys fire wood from a vendor who comes to the door and a torch could certainly made from a suitable piece of that.

However, if you look at Guilliame's D&D Beyond character sheet, there are 10 torches listed on his inventory. These are presumably left over from his adventuring days and have probably been collecting dust in the corner of his bedroom for a while. As they are specifically 'torches' they would be specially designed and quick to light.

Alright then. Head home trying to avoid being bashed up and robbed as per usual.

After a successful shopping expedition, Guilliame head home with his new purse and new pot for the kitchen.

He reaches home without incident to find Granny Naomi perusing a piece of parchment.

"Hello Guilliame," she says as he enters the shop. "We received our monthly tax notification. It hasn't changed from last month; 3 Engles, payable by the end on the month."

"That's good. We can cover that and more coming in later today. I'll have to think about whether I can continue at school though. I need to keep learning while I have access to the library."

"Then you should go. Now," says Granny before adding, "Oooh, is that my new pot? Thank you. How much did it cost?"

"18 lions. A bargain. I will head off but I'll be back before dark to talk to Madam Assam."
Head off if nothing further.

Granny congratulates Guilliame on the bargain and he sets off for the School.

At the door, Guilliame is met by a young journeyman who he did some classes with when Guilliame was a student. Eddard comes from a rich family and is always well dressed and groomed, but apart from that is a nice enough fellow.

"Well met, Guilliame," says Eddard, opening the door with Bruxa in the background barking furiously.

"I don't suppose you have seen Master Minton has you?" he asks as he lets Guilliame in. "No one seems to have seen him since yesterday."

"No I haven't. I hope he's alright. I'll keep an eye out for him in my travel about town. Anything exciting happen recently?"

[OOC: I'm afraid I am going to have to retcon this slightly because I got my dates and times wrong. It is actually Master Minton who answers the door.]

"Hello, Guilliame," says Master Minton as he answer the door. "Here to use the library again?"

"Yes sir. Plenty of work to do. How is Braxa?"

"He is fine," replies Master Minton letting Guilliame in through the door.

Then he raises a finger and says, "Wait. I have something for you." He hurries off and returns quickly with a sealed scroll, something Guilliame has seen many times before; his monthly bill for access to the School as a continuing student.

[OOC: If you remember from his background, Guilliame tuition and his continued ability to access the library, eat in the cafeteria and ask the Masters questions costs 5 Engles a month. By not paying this, his access will become more limited.]

"I am always sorry to have to do this," says Minton, "but the School is expensive to run... Given your background, perhaps you should talk to Master Narim; he is in need of an assistant."

"Thank you. I will speak to Master Narim. I would like to keep learning but I'll need extra income from somewhere. Is Master Narim in today?

"I haven't seen him leave," says Master Minton with regard to Narim, "so he's likely on the grounds or in his quarters. Ask at the Administration building, they should know if he is teaching."

"Thank you. I'll do that first then head up to the library."

Head over to Administration.

At the Administration building, Guilliame is told that Master Narim is teaching a class in the training area that should finish for the midday meal in about half a candle. He should then be free for the rest of the day.

Head up to the library and try to find Velma. Ask her down to the cafeteria for lunch (if it is free for her). 

Guilliame finds Velma in the library and she is glad to see him and very happe to break early for lunch (and yes, it is free for her).

The two of you go to the cafeteria and are in the middle of the meal of the day when Guilliame see Master Narim and Mistress Althea enter the cafeteria deep in conversation.

Tell Velma "I am thinking of asking Master Narim for some work at school. Hopefully not spend as much on fees but still able to have access to the library. What do you think?"

"Master Narim?" she says, a little surprised. "What work would he be able to give you? He is the weapons master."
