Kaylyn watches trying to discern the creatures intentions and if it is trying to communicate as it hasn't attacked.

Insight 17

Zeno stared incoherently at the spot where Rhayna disappeared.  He blinked a few times.  How did she...

Then the thing appeared.  His hand went to his new crossbow, but he hesitated for a moment, waiting on the others. “Should I try to distract it with something? Or are there other ideas?”

"Death may not be an option you like to think about. It's an option you don't always get a say in," Kastix replies as he stares at the monster, watching for any signs of aggression.

Sekkar placed the egg (the thing was indeed heavy!) on the safest spot he could find in assumption they are about to fight yet another monster. "Please tell me this is not our cleric. I do not see much resemblance but in this place you never know." He carefully moved around the thing - just to see if it follows or attacks.

The creature slowly draws closer to the group, waving it's clawed limbs and peering at each of the group in turn with it's yellow eyes. It seems to be moving toward to Zeno.

Kaylyn gets the feeling that the creature is trying to communicate so she whispers a couple of words with a quick wave of her hand casts Comprehend Languages

Pax turns to the group, "It's hungry and wants precious stone and metal to eat."  

She fishes out five gold from her pocket, "Here, this is all I can spare.  Now leave us be."  She tosses the coins to it. 

The creature waddles rapidly over to the scattered coins, grabbing them up with two of its clawed hands, and dropping them into its mouth. More alien sounds come from it as it turns its eye again back to Zeno.

"Zeno, you think you can run and hide some distance away from us?" KAstix whispers.

"It says there is gold in chests somewhere but it can't get to them.  And it wants a gemstone Zeno.  Toss one down the corridor behind us and see if gets distracted enough and let's get moving." Kaylyn remarks.

Zeno slowly began backing up, fumbling in his pack, “I think I sold anything precious...”

(Bad inventory management on my part, I sold all my gems in the bazaar...I do have gold though...)

”Where is Is this treasure? Why can’t it get in?”

Pax steps forward, drawing her blade, "No more creature!  If you lead us to the chests, we will open and share, but otherwise, you must leave."  She turns to the others, "I doubt it can understand me....but who knows..."

Just then Rhayna pops back out of the fungus she disappeared into less than a minute earlier. The creature turns around immediately and waddles directly toward her, clicking and thromming more excitedly.

(Please tell me Rhayna's inventory is correct)

Pax clicks her heels together and then charges at the creature with her sword. 

Initiative : 3

Attack: 19 Damage: 4

Sekkar will try to intercept Pax: Grapple 18   (if you need initiative here: 13 )

Xorn Initiative: 16 (what are the odds?)

Pax has initiated combat. Unless you are abstaining completely, then everyone roll initiative...

The creature looks at Pax with one eye, squinting just a little as if in anger, as it makes a noise like two stones striking together.... કેટલું અસભ્ય! 

Another eye looks at Rhayna as makes a sound more like the grinding of sand... શું હું તમારું પ્લેટિનમ ખાઈ શકું છું? 

It's movements suggest it is avoiding Pax's attacks. (Action: Dodge)

"Pax! Stop!  It doesn't want to hurt us!" 

Kaylyn yells to Pax as she looks to Rhayna.

"Throw a couple platinum pieces, just do it!   Quick!"

Kaylyn points the way down the corridor the way they came.

Zeno plus out a dozen pieces of gold and flings it to the side.

Rhayna pops back at the same spot she disappeared. She looks around and she is glad she sees her companions, but it is short lived. She sees this creature lumbering towards her. It is trying to communicate, it seems, then Kaylyn tells her to thrown platinum pieces to the creature. She freezes, for she doesn't remember having any platinum pieces, then she remembers something in her backpack. She quickly retrieves a gold censer with platinum filigree that they found from the Netherese tomb they explored before coming here. She casts Tongues then holds the item in front of her. "Do you want this? Please take it." She tries not to be afraid of the creature.

Initiative if needed: 18

(All good, I've removed the items from Zeno's inventory now).

While Sekkar tries to hold Pax back, and while Kaylyn alerts Rhayna and Zeno tosses coins on the floor, the creature reaches out and takes the censer from Rhayna's hand. Surprisingly, it doesn't drop it into its mouth as it did with the gold, but clicks to Rhayna:

It then sinks down into the stone floor as if it were dropping into water, and in the blink of an eye it is gone.

 In the excitement, Gorlak tried to slip quietly away from the group, but he walked backwards into an orange and red-striped toadstool and knocks it over, upon which it expels a cloud of spores. 11 3 The duergar coughs a few times then just lays there staring up at the ceiling...
