If they have rooms, on route, Kastix will cast Invisibility on himself while hanging onto the three magic items the dragon gave them for now.

"We are staying in the Inn and payed for ten days ahead, which was about two days ago. That is the only place here accepting outsiders anyway, which means, if anyone is searching for us - that "anyone" will come there first." Sekkar looked Pax up and down: "But yea, you do need to visit market here. If only to change that armor. Don't get me wrong - well done for a non-swamper, but we are about to hit quite the dangerous road, why not get something better?" Lizardman knocked at his breastplate, listening the clean sound of well crafted metal with visible satisfaction. "If Zeno wanted to get something there as well. Can show you around. And - yes, not sure about Captain now. But her guards can spot you there, so... be careful?"  

"I'd rather not split up again.  We have the day so let's get these errands done.  If its two tendays to the gnomes then we'll need to pack more food, extra just to be sure.  We can poke around for a guide but I fear we'll probably be on our own.  I think we'll have plenty of time to get these errands done and then hit the road.  We can worry about identifying those items later.  But if the opportunity presents the time we can do it sooner.  If we have to pass the giants to get out we can do that as we are leaving.  Let's head to the market and buy supplies, etc and then head to the inn for a short rest before we head out.  Zeno should have time to get his thing done also." 

"I doubt we'll get in a fight so a quick few minutes if you dont want to whole ritual crap," Kastix states, "If you want to leave it for later, at least carry some of it, staff seems fun so i'll hold it for now," Kastix holds out an arm holding the necklace and shield.

"Let's get them figured out now, it could make a difference, since you're offering," states Pax. "I do NOT doubt a fight or worse could break out in these parts at any moment."

Sekkar was agree with Kaylyn but other have a point: "They are right about the fight, you know? Our spore-blessed girl can do that ... check magic on a fly - she did so before. Have to say, If those things are weapons, they can come handy faster than we want."

Kaylyn looks at the items and casts Detect Magic to see if any of the items are magical. 

(three minutes now could mean we have up to 3 ace(s) in the hands for a fight we actually know how to use. Note Kastix can't identify, spells he know is limited and gear towards damage and running away from big things)

"Someone take the shield at least, it weights a lot," Kastix states. Kastix's current strength (-3) long has not been the same thing the drow imprisonment. 

No-one seems to be following the group, although they are still stopped sometimes by members of the Stone Guard, some of whom suddenly appear out of thin air. The guards that recognise the group allow them to continue. Those that don't seem to respect the dragon-badges. As Kastix is invisible, he gives his badge to Pax, but her chain veil masks her from recognition.

Crossing over the cleft that runs the width of the city, the group soon pass through the barrier that separates the rest of the city from the Darklake district. A few hours remain of trading and the market is still buzzing with activity.

Sekkar goes with Pax to the armorsmiths to select some armor to replace her makeshift arrangement. (Any selection from PHB available at PHB prices)

Rhayna find a quiet corner with Kastix to identify the new items. It is an unusual experience for the cleric to interact with an invisible companion, but they manage to figure it out. Kastix hands her one item at a time, which magically becomes visible as he lets go. Rhayna identifies it, then hands it back to him, causing it to disappear. The staff is similar to the flame-poles that Rhayna has seen the duergar xarrorn use, but modified and enchanted. The shield is well-made and has a strong enchantment. The necklace is apparently a mystery to the godless duergar, but in the hands of a priest, the beads can be used for various prayers, including Bless (x1), Cure Wounds (x1), Lesser Restoration (x2), and Greater Restoration (x1).

Kaylyn meanwhile goes to buy food and other supplies. (Anyone can nominate items that they would like Kaylyn to buy and/or sell, also at PHB prices).

Zeno goes to find Ylsa Henstak. (I'll make a separate post for this. Struggling to write posts at work tonight. GoodShepherd, feel free to ad-lib for a bit.)

So Kastix tosses the Necklace back to Rhayna, "You're only one who can use that then," He'll have a talk with group about shield and staff when they meet back up.

Beside food and drinks for the trip, a bag of Caltrops, bag of ball bearings, 5 pieces of chalks and a crowbar will what Kastix wants and he'll hand over the money for it. I'll proably have to have one of the other carry his rations.

Shopping list

Rhyana almost drops the necklace as Kastix tosses to her. "I could use some rest, if you guys don't mind, we could go to the tavern to take some rest." She wears the necklace as the party goes to their next destination. She's planning to cast Augury when she has a chance. (@GM Can she use the crystal as focus?)

Sekkar is still broke, but he can hunt in the tunnels and does not worry that much. Shield can go to Pax?

Pax would happily accept the shield.  Toting the new thing, hefting it about to get a sense of weight, she nods to the group.  "This will do very nicely....thank you.".  She doesn't bother going to the armor smith, with 10 gold, she's unlikely to be able to afford anything better, and her makeshift chain is working, even if Sekkar doesn't like the look of it.  Functionality is more important. And food and water and other supplies are more important. 

Pax, "I could use a short rest. After that, I'm happy to help escort any of you on any tasks you might have. I also want to go to the bazaar with anyone that goes, to buy some gear."

Rhayna approaches Pax and gives her 50 gold pieces. "If you will be escorting us, you should get proper gear." Rhyana will not take a no for answer.

(OCC: According to the inventory, Rhayna has 150gp. I hope I have that right. If anyone needs help to buy anything, let me know.)

"Need diamonds," Kastix mentions behind Rhyana before he hands the shield over to Pax, "We'll finalize deal with who gets what back in the room but I ain't carrying all of it myself,"

Zeno nods at the comment about diamonds.  "How many of what size," he asks before he slips into the market, keeping an eye out for any guards that might be watching him closely.  He makes his way to the food vendors, finding the stall of Ylsa Henstack. He ponders vegetables grown in the dark for a bit, pulling at his ear and tousling his hair just so until he sees Ylsa sign for him to head in the back.

Ducking back into her office, he greets her.

(OOC: So, Zeno is flush because of selling some of the treasure we found.  Happy to pick up the diamonds, and if there is anything else the group needs.)

Zeno Shopping:

When finished, Zeno will join the others and add a Ring of Spell Storing to the loot pool for discussion.  He will also mention that while he is personally happy to avoid the guards in the event of any issues, they had done what the Captain asked, and should they consider letting her know, in the event that she might reward them, or at least speak highly of them...

"Also, while I was at the market, I was thinking... the priests couldn't be in on the deal with the egg, at least not Gartokkar....they sent us to the Cleft to investigate.  So who was actually trying to raise the egg, and why?"

Pax nods thanks to Rhayna, grabbing both her hands in her own tough calloused hands and pressing them to her forehead.  

She'll spend the following: 

• 25 gold on her armor to make sure it's repaired and in good state, plus trade in her non-magical shield for a bit more repairs.
• 20 days rations (10gp)
• Flask Oil (1sp)
• Bedroll (1gp) 
• 4x Pitons (1 sp)
• bag of chalk dust (1 sp)
• Crowbar (2 gp)

She gives 11 gold coins back to Rhayna, "Thank you so much..."

"Just need 300g worth of diamonds, can be one or many totaling 300g worth I think," Kastix turns to the cleric for clarification, "Also anyone want my Hempen Rope (50ft)? My backpack is getting too heavy for myself," 

(cleaning, will dump torch in a corner too much weight and no need)

"I can toss in 100g for diamonds,"

Rhayna refuses the gold from Pax. “Please keep it in case you need it later.” Then she takes out 100gp and gives to Kastix. “Here it goes.”
