Kaylyn seems to be having difficulty even starting the climb and barely makes her own height above the ground when she looses her grip and slips back to the ground.
Rhayna looks at Pax and Sekkar going up the wall with ease, and gives a sigh. "Ugh...I should have taken that wall climbing lesson when they offered at the library. Wait..." Rhayna studies briefly the mechanical lifts closest to the party. "Perhaps..." She concentrates for a moment, then calling upon Selune for knowledge (SOP really), her eyes starts to flutter. As her other colleagues tries to figure out how to go up the wall as well, she walks up to the lift on the east side, and starts to operate it.

"Very well, let's keep these guys busy for a while...I hope we're choosing the correct side right now. I can never tell around here."
She stands up, begins advancing towards them. As she does so, she focus' her internal energy, letting the arcane shadows swirl about her, and then pulls out her rod, and points it at the cluster of invisible Duegar. A blazing pellet of fire flies towards them...and then explodes in their midst.

Rhayna takes one look at the system of levers and pulleys, and instantly knows exactly which one to pull to make the correct lift rise at just the right rate. The platform begins to elevate, leaving Kaylyn and Kastix just enough time to run and jump on.
Pax weaves the spell for the fireball, and despite the din coming from the battering of the door, one of the duergar looks around just in time to see the spell being released, and dodges enough to avoid the worst of it. Only one other of the eight invisible dwarves manages to survive the blast, while the other six fall to the ground and becoming visible, burning, smoking corpses. The blast is large enough to reach the doors themselves, and two of the enlarged duergar also burn to a crisp, leaving black oversized-dwarf-shaped silhouettes on the stone doors. The other two are severely singed but still alive, and instantly turn invisible. Pax sees all four surviving duergar spread out and start calling to each other in their guttural language.
Sekkar's reptilian body climbs easily to the top, using all four claws and his tail for balance (although only Pax sees him as she glances down briefly to pass on information). As Sekkar clears the lip of the trench, he sees the aftermath of the fireball and hears the duergar barking orders to each other in Dwarvish:
- "Where did that come from?" - "There's a drow mage near the bridge. Keep low and spread out." - "It's not a drow." - "What is it then? One of the surfacers? Why are they getting involved?" - "Are they siding with the svirfneblin scum?" - "Keep quiet all of you, and come around the sides. Get within spitting distance and then we'll rush it together. Push them over the edge if you can. Take them to ground if you must."
The two enlarged duergar chasing gnomes in the marketplace also witness the explosion, and they too turn invisible and join in warily approaching the lone figure on the lip of the trench.
Sekkar and Pax are both at the top of the trench now. Sekkar is still invisible and can only see Pax and the dead bodies. Rhayna, Kastix and Kaylyn are still riding the lift, but Pensive is flying near the cavern ceiling and can see Pax and the dead bodies.

Pax has the advantage of being able to see the duergar approach, so can see that the two large duergar that were bashing the door are not wearing shields. Considering them easier targets, Pax mentally lashes out with the tentacle rod, which wraps all three tendrils around the giant dwarf's limbs. But there are few folk as resilient and hardy as an Underdark dwarf, and despite being severely battered and bruised by the tentacles, the creature manages to shake off the other negative effects.
Unseen by the duergar, but also unable to see them, Sekkar is able to make a fair guess as to their location. Dawnbringer comes alive in his hand, but the light is not as first visible under the effects of the spell. Listening carefully, Sekkar notices a small shift of loose stone, and slipping away from Pax, he strikes low at the place where his prey's feet and legs should be. Suddenly sunlight blossoms into the cavern, and just as the others on the lift clear the edge of the trench, they see the ranger with his blazing sword slashing at what appears to be empty air, only to watch as a giant dark-skinned dwarf suddenly materialises and then shrinks to normal size and crumple to the ground. Another stray sound and Sekkar is able to pick another target, glide towards it and make another successful strike.
Sekkar senses his new target move away from him, and Pax can see that all the remaining duergar are retreating to the south, evidently surprised by the unexpected attacks, alarmed by the sudden painful light, and knowing their advantage of invisibility is spoiled.
No opportunity attacks, as Pax is not within range and Sekkar can't see his opponent. The duergar are still invisible, but everyone can tell they have moved 50' to the south, into the broken marketplace.
Rhayna/Kastix/Kaylyn can all declare an action now if they wish.
