"We need boats to cross this lake later when things have settled down. Let's take some, stay close to shore and move away. It's that or try and get through the walls with everyone else and that demon is headed this way."
When Kaylyn gets close she'll jump into a boat get anyone else of the party into it and head north.
Yes, Sekkar does have proficiency in water vehicles. It's not shown on the character sheet but it was an adjustment BlueBayou and I agreed to when rolling up the character.
In the initial confusion no-one quite knows which way to flee, but as Sekkar calls out to make for the docks, Kastix starts to shove a path through the mad crowds. Kaylyn follows after, broadening the way where necessary by blasting at the kuo-toa with arcane bolts. Sekkar and Zeno come next, hauling Rhayna's limp body between them, with Joetaro last, guarding their backs and fending off the mob. Not far behind Joetaro though still apparently caught up in the crush, Sarith's head can be seen above the crowd, but he continues to babble and doesn't seem fully aware of his surroundings. There is no sign of Derendil or Jimjar.
As the group approach the docks, they see that many boats have already pushed off from the shore. Although each boat is big enough for at least 4 bodies, many are only occupied by a single kuo-toa, and where more are aboard, they seem to be fighting among themselves. For those tossed in the water, as well that those swimming out toward the boats and trying to clamber aboard or simply swimming in any direction, the blood-stained waters around them continue to churn as some unseen submerged creatures attack and feast upon them.
Forcing their way through to the dockside, they see that only two boats remain, rising and falling on the waves that wash ashore as the demon lunges toward the village, roaring hungrily. One boat has recently been deprived of its kuo-toa occupant by the ten-foot-tall duergar prisoner, and he is quickly preparing for launch with practiced skill. Two kuo-toa are fighting over the second and final boat, and are easily dispatched by bolts of energy and fire from Kaylyn and Kastix. However, Sekkar quickly deduces that the single boat will become swamped if they all attempt to board it...

Kastix and Joetaro pick up Rhayna and turn to make their way north out of the village, but find a channel of water blocking their way. Dozens of kuo-toa have already attempted to cross, but at least half of them are struggling against the same underwater attackers as those in the Darklake, as are those further north trying to skirt around the wall by passing through the shallows.
The duergar looks up and glares at Sekkar, then scans the group, appraising them impassively. He scowls at Sarith, but does a double-take when he sees the tiefling. Aye then, but make it fast, he says to Sekkar, speaking rapidly in Undercommon. Three only, and not the drow. I'll take yer red friend there, 'is 'elper an' the body they be carrying. The rest o' ye take the other skiff, if'n ye know 'ow. The second boat has been freed from its moorings by Kaylyn, and blank-faced Sarith climbs in and sits up in the bow.
There are fewer kuo-toa nearby, with most already fleeing the area around the shrine, either running deeper into the village, toward the gates or into the water, but about a dozen more kuo-toa approach the docks looking for an escape as the demon lord draws nigh. It is less than 100 feet from the shoreline, and its two hideous heads, which glow with an inner fire, grin wickedly at the scene before it. Then a horrific fiendish voice is heard in everyone's mind, echoing with a hollow emptiness that feels like the bottom has dropped out of the universe:
Flee before me, puny mortals, for heaven and hell doth quake at my coming.
Zeno casts a look at Kastix and Joetaro as they take jRhayna, but seeing them into the boat with the duergar, he umps into the skiff with Sekkar, and looks for something to do to be useful.
The village is built on a 'beach' between the eastern shore of the Darklake and some stone cliffs. There is a wall on either side of the village, extending from the cliffs to the water. Escape from the village is possible either 1) through the gate in the wall on either end and then via the beach on foot, 2) wade/swim through the shallows around the wall and then up the beach on foot, 3) via boat on the lake. I made the assumption that the party was fleeing north (towards the right on the map), based partly on post #1610. According to the map, that puts the channel in the path of making it to the edge of the village. From here, making it to the village's northern edge will require either crossing the channel or going around it. The demon lord is within about 100 feet of the shore, and moving at 50 feet per round, so will be there in two rounds.
If any of these assumptions don't fit with your idea of what's happening, let me know and I'm happy to make alterations and retro-fit the actions to match, as long as they are consistent with anything that HAS been explicitly described.

I figured the demon lord was somewhere west of the B in the name of the town on the map so North would be the fastest way away from town. If that is incorrect we certainly don't want to be going towards the demon if it is north or northwest.
Kalyn grabs a paddle and helps Sekkar move the boat along the shore and away from town.
Sekkar nodded to duegar, joined Kaylin, Zeno and Sarith in another boat and did his best now to steer it away from the demon. Gigantic duegar had to be easy enough to spot, to keep an eye occasionally on the other half of the group.
Stool was probably still with Zeno, who carried him before (in case duegar was adamant about number of passengers).
The two boats have barely pulled away from the docks when the demon lord lunges toward the village with a deafening roar that seems to make both the rock and the water tremble. Two enormous tentacles fly directly overhead and come crashing down on the rickety towers and bridges just behind the docks with an awful crunch, then immediately sweep back again, sending wood, detritus and even screaming bodies raining down into the water all around the two rocking boats. The demon seems intent on causing as much destruction as possible, and is focused on the heart of the village and the largest mass of kuo-toa crammed at the back closest to the wall, so the boats are able to pull further and further away from danger. All eyes are fixated on the destruction, as the gargantuan tentacles sweep through the village again and again, and it takes no small degree of mental fortitude for those handling the oars to remember to pull on them rather than be distracted by the horror of the scene. By the time Rhayna regains consciousness, the demon and the village are hidden from view by intervening stalagmites jutting from the lake, although the sound of the slaughter and destruction reverberates and echoes across the lake for minute upon endless minute.
Keen to put as much distance as possible between themselves and the rampaging demon lord, the two boats row for close to an hour. Dark shapes move swiftly in the depths below, but all seem to be moving toward the village and none molest the travelers. The duergar in the lead boat reduces himself to normal size soon after departure, and never gets too far ahead, but now gestures toward a small island in the lake with a beach large enough to land. He beaches his small craft, then without any further ceremony leaps onto the firm ground, turns and faces the group with arms folded, and says: Right then, what shall I do with ye now? I'll take ye back to the shore I ye wish, but I'll go nae further north meself.

(OCC: I can just imagine a really cool cutscene happening here :-)
Rhayna wakes up on the boat, disoriented. She pays no attention to the very large duergar next to her, but turns around to get her bearing, and at the same time looking for Stool. "Stool!! Where is Stool??" After she realizes that Zeno is taking care of little myconid, she finally calms down. (I am going also to assume that Zeno has the little guy as well.)
After they reach land, she speaks to the duergar as he disembarks the boat. "May Selune's moonlight be upon you mister. Thank you for your guidance. Can you tell us what is the quickest way to the next settlement? Also, if it's not much of a bother. Would you happen to know where is Neverlight Grove?"

Sekkar grinned at the dwarf shrinking - smart move indeed, not helping in the boat, may be, but to get to one - it sure was useful. The duergar speaks much like a dwarf, but without any of the mirth or warmth of that race. His command of Common indicates that he is familiar with the surface world. He is all business, and his offer to take you to the lake shore seems less like a gracious favour and more like a way to rid himself of an inconvenience. Whatever ye choose, ye cannae travel the lake without a navigator. I take it that's why ye went to that fishfolk village is it? O' course I could guide ye to Bligdenstone or Gracklstugh, but not fer naught. I came 'ere to make a sale, but ye see 'ow that turned out, so I'd consider takin' the job if ye have anythin' to offer. In response to Rhayna's inquiry Hemeth says that he only knows the way to Neverlight Grove from Gracklstugh.
