Captain Blackhand: As the party rests, Beric spots the fine pipe among the loot. Reaching for it impulsively, he says, "Arr... let's see jus' what this crazy wizard 'ere was smokin'!" He takes a long draw from the pipe before releasing a large cloud of smoke followed by a few smoke rings. Coughing and laughing simultaneously, he remarks, "Good... *cough*... stuff!" He reflexively offers the piece to the person to his left.
When everyone is fully rested, Beric will fall into formation in the middle of the group as they explore the rest of the cavern.
When the captain blows the smoke from the pipe, it does not dissipate like normally but seems to hang around him like a fog. After a few minutes, the smoke begins to make shapes, which become a replay of the captain's greatest achievement in life.
If you would like to describe what you feel has been your greatest achievement, maybe a won battle or something aboard a ship?
Captain Blackhand: Passing the pipe to any that will take it, Beric sits backs to relax on a bolt of cloth as the smoke begins to dance around him. Looking confused, he stutters, "Are... are ye all seein' this too... too?"
The smoke eerily gathers into the form of a much younger Beric Blackhand. He stands upon the deck of his first ship - The Kraken - though at this time it was known as The Queen's Justice. Serving as a privateer, he wears a recruits uniform instead of the tattered Captain's jacket he now wears.
Chaos rages across the sea as huge tentacles rise up from the depths, relentlessly assaulting the gathered fleet. Beric draws his twin Cutlasses and is seen shouting and rallying his fellow sailors as the Captain flees in terror. A tentacle batters the ship mercilessly, wrapping itself around the vessel.
Beric leads the men forward, fearlessly slashing and stabbing at the huge appendage with his blades. The others men, frightened at first, follow Beric's lead as the group attempt to sever the tentacle. Beric pauses a moment, peering out across the rough sea as ships sink all around them. The tentacle loosens it's grip as it sweeps down the length of the ship. Several sailors are throw overboard, including the Captain and officers on the main deck. Continuing their assault, Beric and the men finally sever the creature's limb before Beric takes control of the helm.
Cap and I need to split the arrows we find from the scouts. Also are we collecting the weapons to sell in town? If that armor has runes on it we may want to check it closer.
Reyllnn takes the pipe from the Captain, much to everyone's suprise, and inhales deeply. She holds onto the smoke for longer than one would think possible before exhaling, not a single cough to be heard. She sighs deeply before exhaling a bit more smoke, this cloud slightly darker than the first and coming (seemingly) from nowhere.
Reyllnn, with your innate magical abilities, you have been around enchanted and magical items your entire life in one form or fashion. You have seen items similar to this before where it only works a specific number of times based on the enchantment. You are not entirely sure, but it may have expended its use for the day. Someone can try tomorrow in an attempt to see if the arcane energy recharges in the pipe.
Moving down the pathway the passage widens to the south at this point to form a small cavern. There are three bolts of cloth and five small casks in the middle of the floor, resting on a piece of coarse matting.
Just around a corner the passage leads into a cave that opens directly to the sea. The tide is out at present, and there is little water in the cave, but there is an obvious high-water mark three feet above the floor. Pulled up onto the sloping cave floor is a small boat, perhaps large enough for eight people, with oars, a step-down mast, and a neatly furled sail. A rope tied to the bow is being held down by a large boulder that serves as an anchor.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

"Looks like we found the smuggler's back door," says Reg. "Is this the extent of the caves, you think?" he asks Elias as he looks around for more hidden enemies. Failing that, he will help investigate the boat and the supplies.

In discussing among yourselves about which turn led where and the drawing of a crude map, you can comfortably say that this is the end of the cave system.
Captain Blackhand: Looking out across the open sea, Beric inhales the fresh salty air before saying, "Reckon this be where the scallywags deliver their booty! I says we have a look-see upstairs and then wait 'til nightfall for their ship to come in. Then we steal it!" The pirate laughs merrily as he prepares to head back through the caves.

The smoke that Reyllnn exhaled from the pipe does hang in the air longer than you normally feel it would, but then disapates.

Keric sits quietly and watches those who smoke. He enjoys seeing a glympse into the lives of his companions but doesn't take the pipe when offered.

You also know that the armor likely has an enchantment placed upon it by the enlaid runes, but you would need to have such identified to verify it.
