As you begin to search for the other party, it appears they have ran into the next section of the tower, before closing the door behind them, the half Orc pull a bookcase down. Blocking the path.
with the chaos of the room, it would take time and a dedicated search to find the books Fingolin are looking for. There are just too many books to tell with a cursory glance.
Brocc would know the pass the door are stairs leading upward. The door on the top of the staircase was always locked and haven’t been beyond it yet.
"Looks like they are heading up the tower." Brocc says, nodding towards the blocked door. "There is a door at the top of the stairs there, but I have not been past it, since it was locked. Probably won't slow them down much if they have someone who can pick the lock though."
Solomon sheaths his sword and strokes his wiry black beard, the scholar in him taking over. “It might be crude, but if anyone has a diamond on their person I could try blasting the door open. The books I have been studying have given me a few ideas.”
Brocc is unaware of any other ways up to the doo, as he doesn’t know where it leads to. The doorways in the tower, tend to be magical and require certain components, keys, spells, etc.
Suddenly a loud screeching noise can be heard as a a strong wind sweeps through and pushes the bookcase ten feet to the left, making enough room to clear the door.
The group looks to see Fouder standing there, controlling this now ever present rushing wind in the room.
"That is one way to do it." Brocc says with approval. "Let's go Pounce." he instructs his construct mount and the two pad towards the door. "If they aren't through that other door, then they will be waiting for us to come through this one." Brocc warns the group as he nears the door. "Probably be ready to get hit by some magic and ranged weapons as we go through... Who wants to open it as the rest ready to strike?"
"Step aside, step aside." Falwynn heads to the door and waits for his companions to get into position before whipping the door open ready to rain down holy light.

Brocc will nudge Pounce back and in line with the door, prepared to have the construct dash through the door so he can charge any of the enemy he sees.
Solomon positions himself behind the mounted gnome, crouched slightly with sword and shield raised in front of him. “Don’t give them the opportunity to run, this time.”
The gang takes its positions as tension rises. Fingers on the triggers of crossbows. Grips tighten around daggers and maces. The sweat running down the side of your brow as you taste it as the salt reaches your lips. Adrenaline pumping as Falwynn opens the door quickly. As the party lunges forward in anticipation.... it’s empty. You hear a door slam from above, like a starting pistol.
Rushing up the clockwise circular stair tower as the echoes of armor clinking and boots pounding up the steps.you reach the top of the tower in moments as your faced with another double set wooden door. Black iron hinges and a polished steel doorknob. Falwynn tests it once more. Doesn’t give, the handle doesn’t turn. It is locked.
You hear light rummaging around in the room behind the door.
(Totally forgot Tennanaz was a rogue, lol. Awesome nat 20)
The rushing up the staircase comes to a studdering halt as Tennanaz squeezes his way to get a look on the door. Summoning his spectral hand to pick the lock. If you didn’t know he was picking a lock, you would assume that he had a key. With deft quickness the tumblers give way and the knob turns. And the door creaks open.
You open the door and see a bedroom/study. Presumably the Arch mage quarters. A four post bed to the left of the room. Bookcases that span every wall from floor to ceiling. a wooden table covered in a layer of papers, which is covered in a layer of dust. A crackling fireplace with a blue flame. A tripod containers holding a green gem next to a distillery of some kind. The ceiling is a glass dome like an observatory. The lightening flashes through the room, momentarily blinding everything from your vision.
(and because you rolled a nat 20 and got in as quick as you did)
You see a book fall onto the desk with a thud a warm pink glow before it fades. The room is empty of other people.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Entirely forgetting he was chasing enemies, Fingolin's eyes widen at the knowledge and secrets this room promises. He puts his dagger away and plays a progression on the lute saying "Olor naitë!"to cast Detect Magic. He goes straight to the book on the desk if he saw it glow, then he rummages through the desk if he thinks it's safe to do so, checking for hidden compartments, too.
Tennezaz readies his crossbow once he lets the Mage Hand fade away, going over to th book that just hit the desk. "One of you come over and look at this..."

"Damnit," Fouder grumbles, then looks to Brocc. "Is there another way up?"
He heads towards the door. If it opens towards him, Fouder will attempt to use a gust of wind to blast the fallen bookcase out of the way.
