Fingolin’s words rain down the greenish hues powder that clings and glows iridescently against the pitch black pit. The ones up front feel bolstered by his encouragement.
Fouder wasting no time, sends a guiding bolt that slams into one of the glowing tentacles. As the electricity clings to it as well. causing the tentacle difficulty moving smoothly and quickly, Tennanaz bolts streaks through the darkness and pierces the tentacle before it slams into the wall before falling back into the pit.
Falwynn sends his streaks of fire through the air as it slams into the tentacle on the right side of the pit. Solomon follows up and casts his spell and ice begins to form on the now charred tentacle before him. As Solomon attempts to roll away, the tentacle looks to retaliate. But he is able to get his shield up and deflect the attack. The ice from his own spell shatters and pierces the ground around him.
Brocc acts as a conduit to the wizard, assisting his ability to recite the incantations. The wizard moves and speaks with great haste and is able to lock down two other sigils. His form slightly glitching our like static.

The tentacles flail about, for something without face or voice everyone can tell the anger pouring out from it. It strikes out three times against the wizard.
Attack (disadvantage): 13 Damage: 9
Attack: 20 Damage: 11
Attack: 22 Damage: 15
The first tentacle slams into the ground as it kisses the wizard entirely. The stone floor cracks. The other two strike true and rock the wizard as his ghostly form shifts backwards from the blows. His form now more ethereal and visibly struggling a great deal more to keep form. The wizard looks rough and is having a hard time keeping its focus
Solomon grasps a diamond in one hand, and whispers a few arcane words to it. A prism of light starts to shine from it, as if the source was in the centre of the gem. Magically grasping and separating the red part of the spectrum of light with his other hand, he lets it fizzle into life as a ball of flame, before hurling it at the central tentacle.
Brocc and Fingolin continue to try and assist the wizard how they believe they can. But their words and magic struggle to focus on the ghost as it fades in and out of this plane of existence. The wizard does not have the energy and ability to maintain his form and successfully complete the spell.
Solomon and Falwynn coordinate their attacks as both arcane and radiant fire explodes on the already injured tentacle. Sending it to the abyss below.
Tennenaz and Fouder send two crosbolts intersecting and piercing through the faerie fire tentacle as it recoils from the pain. Shaken, but still very much a threat.
Both tentacles look to end the battle of wills and lash out towards the wizard one more time. pounce is able to interject itself between the wizard and tentacle, causing it to miss. However the other tentacle hits hard coming from a sweeping angle. The ghost screams loudly as his blue light fades away and his form is lost. His scream echoes grows quiet as it also fades away. The book he was holding drips to the floor. Still open to the same page, still glowing with power.

Solomon's heart sinks as he watches the wizard fail, and vanish. Now having had a taste of what lay on the other side of the portal, he resolves to shut the portal, no matter the consequences, despite his fear. He shouts to the others, "Keep going, do not falter!" Trying to keep at a safe distance from the other two tentacles, he scrambles for the book, snatching it up at the page the wizard left it open at. Having studied several languages belonging to other planes of existence, he does his best to continue the incantations.

Assuming that if the middle tentacle is gone, I can get to the book while staying away from the others.
Whole Solomon charges towards the book, he does have to enter the range of the tentacles to do so. Still trembling at the sight of the monstrous display. He begins reading the arcane glyphs. In a different language he is used to but still somehow manages to recognize the universal language of magic.
The fourth sigil flickers before locking in place. Pounce and Fingolin pierce through one of the tentacles as it collapses, leaving one more standing.
The last tentacle able to shake off the spell aimed at it by Tennenaz.
The final tentacle slams towards Solomon (either in range or attack of opportunity). Pounce continues to distract and get in the way of the sweeping tentacle
Attack (disadvantage): 9 Damage: 12
The tentacle misses as Solomon ducks underneath the hulking squid like tentacle.

Solomon mentally thanks the mechanical beast as it distracts the remaining tentacle enough to spare him from serious damage. Regaining his resolve, knowing that they had nearly succeeded, he continues to recite the book's incantations, attempting to lock the fifth sigil...
