Flynt offers a quiet prayer to his ancestors before telling Garet "Watch the door." Bounding up the last stretch of stairs, he leaves the rod in firebrand form as he comes to a stop next Marcon in front of spider G2. He strikes at the spider before him. His enhanced speed doesn't allow time for much evasion by the spider.
Attack: 22 Damage: 8 on a hit zephyr strike causes 6 force Damage and an additional 6 also a hit causes fear.
Terrify. While holding the rod, you can use an action to force each creature you can see within 30 feet of you to make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, a target is frightened of you for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. This property can't be used again until the next dawn.

If Marcon had been in his right mind after taking the first two strikes, he might've suggested back up further into the tunnel to make things at least a little difficult for the bugbear minions. As things stood however, the man seemed unfocused, frustrated, and even edging almost towards another almost feral state, if the snarling and beginning skins skin warping into scales had been any indication.
Yet for better or worse, he ultimately appeared to get back some of his composure in casting aside his torch and whipping out his warhammer to start trying breaking bugbear bones. "I. Won't!" He growled out between strikes.
Action: Hammer Time upon Bugbear(4). (One-Handed, Melee)Warhammer - Attack #1: 20 Damage: 6 of non-magicial bludgeoning. (One-Handed, Melee)Warhammer - Attack #2: 23 Damage: 5 of non-magicial bludgeoning.

The bugbear raises his shield, a buckler that looked almost comical on such a tall creature, but nonetheless was able to absorb both of Marcon's hammer strikes...but the second hit broke the monster's tiny shield into pieces.
(OOC: BGBR 4 now has AC 14 due to his broken shield.)

Ronk blinks as the bugbears and spiders appear. He grumbles and scrapes the mouse off his foot, giving it an accusatory look. "This is YOUR fault." The monk runs to join Marcon and Rigel, looking for a way through or around or over before patting Marcon on the shoulder and easing past to stand on the farmboy's right. "Pardon. Just getting through..." Once through, he kicks the butt of his spear, lancing it out at the head of nearest bugbear once, then thrusting it again at his gut before lashing out with to deliver a backhanded slap with one huge goblinoid hand.

SPDR 1 Web (Recharge): 2 The spider maneuvers around the north side of the column and reaches out with its forward pedipalps and attempts to grab hold of Ronk Action (Grapple): Strength (Athletics) 22 vs. 21 Dexterity (Acrobatics)

Attack (Morningstar): 14 vs. AC 18 (Marcon); dealing 10 piercing damage on a hit.
Garet's bolt sails through the dank cool air of the dungeon complex...and right down the gullet of the massive spider. The creature thrashes about as the missile undoubtedly severs internal organs, before rearing up on its hind legs and keels over right on top of the large fire burning in the center of the room.
Hairs quickly singe and a few seconds later, the smell of burning flesh begins to fill the room.

Action (Grapple): Strength (Athletics) BGBR 3 12 vs. Rigel 23; if successful, BGBR 3 will drag Rigel 15 feet towards the southeast corner of the room.

Marcon, who had been reflexively struggling his binds, nearly stumbles forward upon being unexpectedly torn free of it all. Confused, he looks back sharply at Vanzaren and squints at the performer. Yet before he can muster up a word to even ask 'Why me?' the noise from the Bugbears back on the offense has him pivoting back around and just barely catching or deflecting their blows with his shield.
But rather than seize an opening immediately afterwards to strike, the ex-farmhand appeared almost... hesitant to do so. Some inner conflict still warred and left him breathing hard on the spot. Before then with a final muttered curse of "To the ninez with it!", he dropped the hammer and allowed his hands and upper arms to contort, grow, and partially transmute into a more draconic claw that he immediately turned on Ronk, slashing at his webbings, then pivoting again to rake at the face of another bugbear in a reckless assault.
Bonus Action: Release the Fury(Claw Form).
