The private rooms seemed like a promising place where someone could find an informant. "It would be most helpful if you could arrange for me to get into these private rooms.", he told Alan. "Rest assured, I wouldn't bother any of your patrons. I know how to behave myself." He paused for a second and leaned a little bit towards the half-elf, "But truth be told, this is quite an important and time sensitive matter, so we would appreciate a little cooperation." Axandros tried to sound as calm as possible. To him this was a reasonable request and he could not think of a reason why he should be denied.
With a deep breath Pogo takes in the Elfsong and smiles. places like this were a second home to him after all. Watching the others disperse he moves up to the bar. "One for me too my friend Alan!" He says in an loud gruff voice. Noticing Axandros leaning in close he smiles and puts his hands together in a prayer position before patting Axandros on the back "Lliira watch over you my friend" and cast guidance before taking a drink "I'm going to see how this game is played, you be safe." he adds before strolling over to the table that the woman in blue robes is at.
The human that was tall and wearing the plate armor
Oh, you mean the two guards at the door. The one wearing plate armour didn't seem to give any tell, just a valiant sentinel at their post. The tall woman seemed to be almost like she had giant's blood in her, large in frame and burly. She isn't armoured, but looks like she could crush a smaller man with ease.
"Well, we can start with..." The woman starts to say, but the room goes quiet. A hauntingly beautiful tone of an elvish woman begins to sing quietly through the room, all the patrons dying down their conversations, though the volume of the singing wouldn't have interrupted a conversation. The patrons seem to mellow a little, one by one they seem somewhat lost in the song. After a couple of minutes the singing fades away the talking picks up again, everyone continuing as if nothing was out of the ordinary. The woman starts again. "How about we start with a 5 silver game?" She suggests, taking a set of bone dice from a pouch. "You know how to play, right?"
"Beautiful song, isn't it?" Alan says to those of the group who stayed at the bar. "Must've heard her sing over a thousand times, and even now it still moves me..."
Alea & Hunferho: you, as speakers fluent in elvish, understood the lyrics of the song:
O sing a song of Elturel Of water, woods, and hill The sun dawns on her ruddy cliffs And fields green and still. This land of long-abiding joy Home of the strong and brave Renowned by all, across the realms, And never once a slave.
O sing a song of Elturel When foes are at her door Her fields torn by cloven feet From some infernal shore. Arise the mighty Hellriders Take up your swift, keen swords Then charge into the hellish fray And scatter devil hordes.
O sing a song of Elturel And when the night does fall Sleep safe beneath Companion’s light Until the dawn does call. We’re bound by mortal covenant That only ends with death And so we’ll sing of Elturel Until our final breath.
Alea smiled as she listened to the music before nodding her head “it’s a very lovely tune, elves always seem to have a way when it comes to beauty of any kind, including song”

Hmm... Maybe Hunferho can lure out that singer, who might be a better conversationalist than the riff-raff out here.
He is not much of a performer, but he does have technical skill with the viol. He tries to play the same tune that goes with the song they just heard.
Performance (not proficient, but adding +2 for viol proficiency): 22

The woman picks up her dice. "Oh, I travel from time to time." she tells Khaffosi, placing five silver coins at the middle of the table. "I'm doing some astrological research. Rahima is my name." She rolls the three dice.
Rahima: 4 | 3 | 6 = 10
Khaffosi: 4 + 4 + 1 = 9
Hunferho takes out his viol, plucking at the strings to ensure they are tuned well enough, before attempting to recreate the tune. He appears to be pretty much pitch-perfect, getting each note with a solemn legato, capturing the attention of a few patrons.
"You're pretty good." Alan mentions. "Though my personal preference is that of the fair maiden. Do you know the tales of the Elfsong?"

"Maidens and elf songs? No, I've never read trashy romance novels." Hunferho blinks, then remembers the name of this tavern.
"I'd like to order a bit of ale in a clean shot glass, please." (slides a silver piece, which is definitely overpaying) "I've just arrived in town, and don't know of the rich history of the Elfsong tavern. Could you enlighten me?"

At the bar:
Alan leans on the bar. "Stories are for paying customers." He smirks, going to pull a couple of ales (3 copper from each person overall). He provides foamy tankards of some bitter brown water, colloquially known as Balduran's Bathwater. It's the cheapest stuff, but it eventually gets people drunk. "As for private rooms, they are just that, private. You can pay for one, but don't go proddin' people's private business."
"The spirit of the Elfsong Tavern has haunted these walls since before I was a lad." Alan tells those still at the bar. "My mother came here over a hundred years ago, and she fell in love with the song. No one's sure where the spirit came from, and why she sings. But she can sing at any time of day, no matter what's happening. Of course, there were the years of silence, some folk think the spirit predicted The Sundering, as when all was over, her beautiful voice began to sing once again, blessing these halls once more." He gives a nod to one of the young men who pick up some more drinks. "As for the song itself, it's never changed, always the same tune, always the same words."
At the gaming table:
Khaffosi rolls another die, now totalling up to 13.
"I guess I shall cast a die, see what holds for me..." Rahima says, taking another die herself to add to her pool. It rolls a 2. "As for what the city holds, it holds some venerated scholars that may not be found in the grand library of Candlekeep, for one reason or another." She muses.
Upstairs:
Arrow, getting bored, decides to go check the upper level of the establishment. Taking the spiral staircase, it creaks and groans, even under his lithe form. What he finds is eight patrons littered over two long rectangular tables, each of them at varying levels of drunkness, and several strewn bowls that might have contained stew at one point.
Is this like a balcony area that overlooks the tavern floor? If so Arrow will just hang out up here to keep an eye on his companions and on the lookout for anyone who might be taking an interest in his party.
Also does everyone else have their Flaming Fist pins on display? Wondering if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
