Pizazz's Ravenloft and Beyond

 "There is that room that teleported us around" reminded the dwarf. "But this is inside the castle. Angel might need our help and he can heal too. He only asked not to interfere, that we can do. For some time. I have some heal. Very little." The tirade ended with "Where do you want us to go?"

(( I’m kind of feeling we goes in and takes our chances.  I’d prefer to have some of Ketch’s (all of his) healing spells left but if the angel is going to at least distract Strahd we may not have a better chance...))

"We know our way from the front entrance, down through the teleport chamber and into the crypt.  If the Abbott is providing a distraction, we may be able to get in and out without encountering Strahd.  If we end up having to flee in a hurry, we'd just need to get back to the teleport chamber, and we can teleport directly out of the castle.  If he follows us, that leaves him more exposed than us.  Might the bats in the crypt be more of a problem now?  I got the feeling Strahd was letting them be pretty ambivalent towards us the first time."

(DM, how did the teleport brazier work - did we every try to all get through at once?  Did it let us, or did we have to go through one at a time and have to wait for it to reset each time?)

Meepo glances at Mordekai in confusion. "Meepo thought reason go castle now was fight vampire, not get in and then out. What go in for if no fight vampire?"

When you trigger the brazier, it's portal would stay active for 30 seconds and then the whole thing reset.

"I had suggested getting in and destroying his coffin whilst the Abbott is distracting him, to stop him having somewhere to run to regenerate. Then maybe coming back after a full rest for a final battle."

((Task number one - to destroy coffin. And go from there as dice will roll))

"Meepo think can try this." Meepo says with a nod. He would be ready to head into the castle. "Hope angel-man take care of dragons..." He comments to the others as they near the doors.

"hrmpfh sneak dragons no attack angel hrmpfh"

As the group finishes their conversation, the Angel has finally pushed one of the doors open, after knocking and waiting to no avail.  He and the 'bride' head into the entrance.  You all see a flash of bright orange and feel even from here the waves of heat as two dragons breath down on him.  

Abbott saves: 6  20

Bride saves:  7  12

Fire: DC 13 25 and 28

The bride screeches and goes running from the front entrance....the beautiful dress alight....leaving a trail of fire behind her. The Abbott, scorched and smoking goes running after her, screaming "Noooo!!!!" 

Where does the group go?  Actions?  

"He did not kill the dragons," noted ex-Lionel. "I think he might want our help now." The dwarf tried to assess the situation. Since discussion was hold in the yard in front of the castle, chances were "the bride" would pass that point. Samanthan will try to catch the bride: Athletics 18

"hrmpfh dress gone hrmpfh" If the woman is close enough to grab then Ulthan will do so full well knowing his bloody furs will take care of the flaming wedding dress, Gapple  24. Ahem... let's try a different type of grapple roll.... 13.

     Ketch would aid and assist in the gathering of and flame ridding of the patchwork bride.

     "Abbott!  Angel!  Whatever you are.  Your plan seems...  Up in smoke?  Join us in destroying the creatures rest and sanctuary, and then in destroying the creature itself!" Ketch bellows...

((Note to all, Strahd is most definitely not turned by this point and can show up whenever he so pleases...))

Mordekai would've dropped the Strahd disguise when the Abbott appeared, if I haven't already done so. I considered doing it before chasing Rahadin down, so can't remember if I actually did or not.

"There are a couple of dragons in there, Abbott. If you'd wanted our help the first time, we'd have been able to tell you that. But you didn't give us a chance."

With the bride being patted out and restrained...the Abbott comes storming over, "You KNEW?!"  he practically screeches.  "I need to fix this, I can fix this!  I will!"  He grabs the bride, and starts dragging her back a bit... "I can fix all this....."  he seems....maniacal almost....and is clearly not in his right mind....not that you had doubted this previously.  

Strahd comes walking briskly out of the castle.  He glances around, up to the walls, to the castle tops, his eyes searching for something....

The Abbott looks towards him, "Strahd!  I uh.....your pets damaged a gift...I will return, with a proper surprise.." 

Strahd looks absently at the Abbott, and his burned 'doll', but then mostly looks at the group, assessing. 

Roll initiative.  

Strahd : 5

Abbott: 18

Bride : 5

Strahd is 40 feet from the party, and 10 feet from the open front door.

Ketch initiative: 18

Ulthan groans now and at 14.

"I think he does not want us to damage his coffin," in case someone missed the memo clarified Samanthan, preparing her pathetic spear.

Initiative: 9

     "How about next time we don't tell the bad guy our plan?" Ketch grumbles, readying his shield and axe...

"hrmpfh we have plan hrmpfh" he tries really hard to make it sound like the question it really is as he waits for the inevitable death strike.
