Pizazz's Ravenloft and Beyond

The genie says to Meepo, "His magical workshop is through the door." 

Ketch does indeed see what looks like belongings in the water near the bodies.  Though as Ulthan approaches to examine the bodies....you see blue hazy image of a half-elf boy appear, overlaid on the skeleton.  He glances up at Ulthan, "I must get out of here!" he says and flies directly at Ulthan.

Ulthan, DC 13 Charisma save please.

Likewise, a half-elf girl, blue and hazy, appears over the other skeleton and says, "Yes...free of this cave..finally..." she zips towards Meepo, slamming into him with her semi-translucent body.

Meepo, DC 13 Charisma save please.

Lionel is down the hall and too far away to grant his Paladin saving throw bonus at this time. 

Everyone roll initiative.  Surprise round is complete.

You're all in "L2", the triangular room, except Lionel who is down the hallway through the secret door.

Ulthan examines carefully 16 so it's no surprise that he's surprised 4 and even more surprised as the other thing happens when the skeleton decides to enter his body. He then thinks at the cat and the ice rivers, but for now is willing to put up with it, oh right skeleton thing. At 9 Ulthan may do something, or not, it all depends.

Ulthan, before being possessed, notes to himself that the bodies appear to have died while sitting...seemingly peacefully, for there are no marks of wounds to the bones, or torn clothes. But, his examination is cut short, as a ghost slips through his chest and his eyes fade pale white and then turn a bright blue. He glances about at the group, not recognizing any of them. His cat on his shoulders leaps off onto the edge of the back wall along the water and turns to begin hissing at him, its tail extra poofy. 

The other spirit 'bounces' off of Meepo's chest and swirls about in the air in front of him in frustration. 

Ketch, Lionel, Meepo, your actions.

"Meepo say no nice." Meepo scolds the spirit that tried to enter him. "Meepo like little ghosty a lot, Meepo make use of skeletons of you too." He looks to the giant-kin, that the other spirit went inside and frowns at the blue eyes. "Meepo say you not nice neither, not nice to enter someone without being invited." He crosses his slender arms and glares at the ghost in front of him, and the other inside of the giant-kin. "Meepo say, if you want to leave here, then Meepo friends help you. If you want to possess Meepo friends, then Meepo will be forced to be not nice to you." He looks at them both with a sterm look, coming from atop his skeleton, and with his sharp teeth gritted in displeasure. "Meepo want be nice to you, as Meepo do really like little ghosty peoples..."

(Roll a persuasion check or intimidation check depending on which angle you'd like to emphasize.)

As Meepo has the same mod to each... Persuasion: 11

The girl ghost in front of Meepo stops....and looks towards him, "Will you help us leave here? We want to leave this cave...and...and maybe...you could bury us?"  

Ulthan crouches and looks towards Meepo as well, though his eyes dart to the cave's exit.  Ulthan says, without his familiar grunting, "Please....we...we just want to rest." 

Linel, who left the unknown door and returned to check the commotion behind, looked and listened for a moment before marching to Ulthan. Leave that body! Then we talk." He, personally, did not like "little ghosty peoples" (neither the "big ghosty peoples" but that was not the point). However, his words were true, he meant it when he added: "Show that you truly do not mean any harm and we shall do as you ask - give you the final rest."

'Ulthan' panics as the demanding armored Paladin approaches, and attempts to bolt. The big warrior, still in 4 feet of water, pushes off near the shallows beside the wall the skeletons were resting against, and hits the water in a dive and begins swimming towards the exit. 

Ketch?

(Your post didn't say you were trying to.  What were you trying to accomplish?  He didn't disengage, so you can try to touch him with an AoO if you wish...)

((Ah! The problem mobile forums and flavoring scripts. Lionel was casting Protection from Evil and Good on Ulthan (masked by additional text "leave that body") in hope Ulthan can get another save.))

   Upon sensing and seeing the ghosts, Ketch raises his shield and thrusts it towards the spirits, muttering a prayer and focusing it through the Eye of Gruumsh painted upon the shield with the blood of his enemies...  "Bego..." But before Ketch could finish his prayer to turn undead he remembers Meepo's Skellies and decides to hold... for now.

     In his brief pause, Ketch hears Meepo begin his entreaty to the ghosts and thus pauses, waiting to see if such a far fetched thing could work.

Lionel is able to briefly touch Ulthan before he bolts, delivering the magic. But it seems Ulthan's spirit is still suppressed by the ghost as he attempts to flee the cave.

He swims most of the way across the room and comes splashing to his feet near the mouth of the cave where the water is more shallow.  

(the cave is difficult terrain due to 4 feet of water, unless you have a swim speed) 

It seems Ulthan is attempting to flee, though the other ghost seems to have ceased being aggressive and is floating before Meepo. 

Mordekai, your action.

"Meepo help." Meep assures them, glancing over as the giant-kin heads towards the exit. Meepo almost chuckles, as the ghost is actually acting just like the giant-kin normaly did, running away from the fights.
