"We only wish to speak with you, Milijov. You have our word that no harm will come to you or the children. For the safety of your church and town, hear us out." Kane waits for a reply.
Meepo walks over and peeks in a window. Less than 2 inches from his face is a small girls face, squished against the glass. They make eye contact. She makes an "eeek!" sound and vanishes from view. From within he hears, "Some sorta little goblin creature is out there!"
Milijov says through the door, "I can hear you out just fine right from here. What'dya want from us? We ain't got nothing. And there's no helping this town..."
"We have both doors covered, and it seems like someone like him, in his situation, might actually appreciate someone telling them straight up without hidden motives?"
"Meepo here." Meepo says moving to the door from the window. "Meepo need talk." He says to the door. "Meepo looking find lost." He says and nods as if this explains it all. "Lost bones. Need find lost bones from temple." He says to help the little big understand better. "Know where lost bones are?"
Mordekai decides that a little flattery might help smooth things along, also hoping to trigger a hint of guilt or remorse in the boy's reaction.
"The priest told us the bones had gone missing, and that the church itself was no longer a safe haven because of it. He would like us to retrieve them, and suggested that you were hard working, intelligent and had your ear to the ground. He said that if anyone could help give us a head start on anything that had been seen, we could rely on you. I think he has a very high opinion of you."
"What do you mean, the church is no longer safe?" The door clicks open, and the boy glances around, a hard look of suspicion but with a hint of worry. "Come in, let us talk more quietly..."
He ushers you in.
Inside, the house is...a mess. Belongs and clothes are scattered everywhere, dirty dishes, dirt on the floor, dried leaves, smudges on every wall. Three small children, under 8 years old all hide behind a couch as you enter. "These are my brothers and sisters. My parents are not home right now......" You all suspect his parents may not ever be home, given the state of things. "Why is the church not safe? Cause of those old bones? How could bones keep a church safe from the devil?"

"Well, I am no cleric, so I do not fully understand this type of power, but the bones of a Saint can indeed be powerful things, warding off evil and protecting those within the church. But since those bones have been removed, the devil in question has had more power to encroach on that place. Would you help us- help the church, to find and retrieve them? The fact that the priest sent us to you first shows his confidence in you. Truly, you have a home there - as long as the church stands."
Meepo looks around and frowns. he is not sure if things are lost in here or if it is just a mess. He keeps from looking around for the bones though, letting his companions try it their way first.
"Oh." His grim face seems thoughtful and troubled. He seems...unhappy, and says, "I'm sorry. I needed food for my sisters and brothers. When I mentioned the bones to Henrik van der Voort, he said he could pay me handsomely to ...uh..get them. So I did. And he did. We haven't gone to sleep with sore stomachs the past nights. I'm sorry, I don't have them. Henrik runs the coffin shop. Maybe you could buy them back from him." He describes the directions to the coffin shop in town. He otherwise stands, waiting to be judged, looking as if he's in quite a bit of trouble. His face is dark, and grim.

Olin tests the back door to see if it is locked. Not opening it yet, but just checking it to see.
There's no lock on the doorknob, but a gentle push and pull and it feels like something is preventing it from opening and closing.
Mordekai, Kane, Meepo, does anyone respond to Milijov's question through the door?

Meepo moves around trying to peek in through a window or a crack between boards (if windows are boarded up.)

"Where goblin?" Meepo asks looking around with concern. "Meepo no see goblin..."
“If we tell him now, Milijov might make a break for it.” He says in a low voice to his companions. “Should we declare our intentions?”
Staying close to the back door, Olin looks for a window that might be unlatched or that might afford him a view of what was going on inside.

"Bones? I don't know anything about any bones. Go away!" (there's no sound of any movement in the house...)
