Onyx, still looking like a lizard, tries to carefully check out what is going on.

Onyx sneaks up to the slightly open door and peek through the crack to see a stone stair way going up. Does anyone else want to do anything while he does this?

Gotch will check any other doors close by, checking to see if they are locked or not.  If not locked, then opening to glance inside.

Investigation:  7

All these doors are unlocked and peeking inside shows stairs or hallways curving off, farther est western door leads to a hallways that bends west, the next door has stairs leading down, 3rd door, one Onyx checked has stairs leading up and last door, farthest eastern door, is a collapsed hallway where the ceiling has fallen in.

Izen followed behind the group and took a look at his injected realizing he was running out of juice for day. He didn't seem to bothered however and makes his way forward with the rest of the group keeping behind them with his smaller size

"Well I'd say to move upwards."  Gotch says with a shrug.  "Seems only one path goes that way, while others all go somewhere on this level."

"Well, let's go up then, can't wait to get out of this place. Hopefully, this whole plane isn't populated by angry lizards." She opens the door and goes up the steps trying to make as little noise as she can.

Tundra attempts to sneak her way up the way as a scount until she comes to a door, this one door was closed but quick check showed the door wasn't locked. Does everyone do? Follow? Stay behind? Wait for screams?

Gotch is heading up the stairs, as long as that is where most everyone is headed.

Izen decided to head up the stairs as well swirling a flash of clear liquid in his grasp 

Going with assumption everyone sticking together. Tundra opens up the door to find an rather open area, with three hallways, one to your left, right and straight away. The hallway straight ahead has four doors and one double door straight on.

Does Gotch hear anything from any particular direction?

It's so quiet to point Gotch can hear the water dripping from the ceiling. 

Onyx carefully takes the lead and checks the closes door ahead, before opening it i will listen if i can hear anything behind it.

As you approach the door ahead, you see the hallways splits to left and right. There are two more sets of double door along same wall as the one you heading for. You can see the other end of the two alternative hallways. As Onyx press her ear, Onyx hears distant echoing sounds of battle but it's muffled and faint.

Where would everyone be at this moment?

Gotch is back at the door at the top of the stairs yet, that Tundra just opened.  He would have stuck his head through the door to listen, but would have moved back as others moved forward.

Izen then remembered something and put back on his mad scienctist goggles looking throught them before pouring the potion of hand over the lens from the outside covering them for a second as they began to shimer

Artifier Infusion wand of magic detection and using one charge to detect magic 

Mai has been following the others slowly at a safe distance. Staying in the back as unseen as possible while she trembles and her teeth chatter.

Izen adjusts his goggles as he slowly make his way towards Tundra. As he looked around with detect magic, he see on the wall behind them, the wall that the door you came through, two auras of illusion magic sticking to it. You have a moment to watch these auras take aim and fire. They are unable to find Mai so one fires a crossbow bolt at Izen and Gotch. Everyone expect Izen is surprised.

Two chameleon like creature appear as their invisibility fades away, standing on the wall before dropping down to the ground, They seem bigger than the one you encounetered in the sorting room. They drop their hand crossbow and pulls out a pair of daggers each.

General idea of position

Onyx, Gwazi and Tundra is near southern doors. Izen, Mai and Gotch scattered near northern area where the Chameleons are.

If we didn't find the book in the first two minutes i would cast detect magic spell and look for it. 

I would try to rush everyone, concioua of the 10 min limit of hunters mark.

Once it is my turn, i will adjust huntersmark to one of the chameleons who is already hurt and shoot an arrow, repositioning myself if necessary  to get a clear shoot.
