The death of the Avatar of Qatu holds the tide at bay for a little while and pushes the Darkness back just a bit - long enough for you all to escape with your lives. Driftchapel will eventually be overrun with the horrors of a cosmic darkness, but not today. Like an infection, it will continue to spread, and you know the world, one day, will be lost - but you live to continue your personal agendas having survived the onslaught of a chosen of Qatu. You head north from Driftchapel to an area east of Oubliette called The Ghastlands.
Go ahead and level up! The next part of the adventure begins!
Villanelle splits off from the group for a bit after the latest battle. While they would be useful for the ritual she was about to undertake, she would much prefer to have a victim that she could sacrifice without much of a struggle. So she once again abducted a hapless peasant before midnight and took him away to some place where his screams wouldn't be heard, not body discovered. She tied him up and hung him upside down over a bowl before slitting his throat and allowing the blood to trickle inside a bowl.
Once all of the man's blood had drained into the bowl, Villanelle chanted some words in a dark language and as midnight struck, Villanelle drank of the man's blood. That would be the first of many times she would drink human blood as a creature of the night.

Dia murmurs something to Tora and gives the weretiger a quick kiss before slipping away. She goes back to Driftchapel and finds the slums, offering assistance here and there while she looks for a likely candidate for her first contract.
Finally, she found one, a terrified looking young woman who wouldn't stop crying. Dia sat next to her. "Now then my dear, what's wrong?"
The young woman looked with surprise and a little fear at the succubus. But she was too upset to be too picky about her confidants. "I've lost everything," she sniffs. "My home, my friends, my husband...those horrors killed them."
Dia trailed her fingers gently along the back of the woman's neck and brushed a lock of hair out of her face. "Now then, you're still alive. This is hardly the end."
"But what can I do? Where can I go?" Tears rolled down the woman's face. "I have nothing."
Dia smiled and cupped the woman's face in her hands. "What's your name, dear?"
"Lily."
"Well, Lily, I may be able to help with that." Dia brought Lily's face gently towards hers. "You see, you never have nothing. And I can help you turn that little something into a lot more. Something you can use to fight back the night...protect those you love. What do you say?"
Lily hesitated for only the briefest of moments before nodding.
"Excellent," Dia murmured. "Then all that remains is to seal the deal."
"A signature?" Lily guessed.
"Well, there's that...but there's also a far more...enjoyable way to make it official." Dia smiled slowly.
A few hours later, Dia slipped away from the small bed and out of Driftchapel. Power singing through her, the succubus smiled and let it loose. From her back stretched two leathery wings, the same dark blue color as her skin. With a simple flap, Dia took to the air. She climbed higher and higher into the night, until she was over the group's small camp. She could see it all, feel the power of the contract in her bones, feel how she was changed irrevocably at that moment. The succubus threw back her head and laughed. "Try and find me, Yesenia. Try to control me, Jaoth. This is only the first. And one day, I'll hold your souls too."
Tora let Dia go. And despite the worry she felt as the girl left, she knew she would come back, and she was almost grateful that she was leaving when she was. Tora could feel it. The pull she always felt towards the sky. To the woods. And with a brief separation of the group, that's where she found herself, knowing she would return, or Dia would come to retrieve her regardless.
The woods welcomed her with a knowing warmth, the feeling of home, and the quietness of nature. It felt amazing to be back after their recent excursion, even though it wouldnt last for long. Almost naturally she found herself scaling the trees, leaping from branch to branch, her muscles tensing and pulling as she swung and jumped around, her eyes trained, her body fit, and her mind sharp. But it always was around this time, and she relished in it.
The moon was full in the sky above and she basked in it, the bright light it shed on the tops of the trees. The light that kissed her skin and gave her strength, power, and energy. It invited her, held her, and prepared her for what was to come. Finally, when it was at its peak, shining brilliantly above through the misty clouds, did she feel it. Her carnal instincts. Her power. Her spirit drawing to the surface.
Through the mist that surrounded her was a tiger, its fur white and dazzling as it weaved through the tree line that Tora had found herself encircled by. Its bright blue eyes stared into her own blue green ones as if watching its pray, but they held a softness. A calm motherly feel about them. After a moment the ethereal tiger approached, sitting a slight distance away from her, its eyes trained on her calmly as its tail flicked back and forth periodically. It was almost challenging her, inviting her closer, reaching for her with it's own soul. And she did, stepping across the leaves and grass that separated them before she herself kneeled in front of it, bowing her head slightly.
The tiger was calm, and with a slight shift pressed its forehead to hers. In a soft pause of warmth and comfort, she felt its spirit embrace hers, intertwining themselves as she heard the roar echo in her ears. However, it wasnt long before that warmth began to burn, and that burn began to scald, until she found herself in sharp waves of pain, collapsing into the leaves and grass, her eyes trained on the full moon above her. She couldnt move as her body twitched and writhed in pain, almost as if she was frozen, gasping for air like a fish yanked out of water. Her whole body hurt, seared with white hot pain before her mind went dark in a temporary black out.
When she regained focus, she found herself still laying in the grass, her body was numb and heavy, but no longer overwhelmed by pain. She felt free, almost like her soul itself was floating in ethereal ascension. And as she forced herself to her feet, she was almost caught off guard by the sudden shift in weight, stature, and feelings. She was no longer able to find her legs, instead, two large muscular hind legs replaced them. Her arms themselves had formed into something the same, pawed, furred, and claws extended as they gripped the earth. Her body itself was and wasnt her own all at once. It was something entirely different. Entirely new. And she loved it. Embraced it. Remained.
A loud roar would pierce the full night sky, reaching to the farest extent of sound almost like a beast just released from its cage. And Tora would finally become what she was destined to be. The white tiger under the full moon. Now if only she could stay that way.
Dia would find Tora, curled up just on the edge of the forest where the others had separated or camped, her body nude of all forms of clothes, her outfit seemingly a new pillow for the night as she lay under the leaves from the canopy above. As Tora slept, Dia would notice differences in her form. She was slightly more muscular, her hair frayed and frizzled in various directions from her nighttime adventures. Black streaks and tuffs colored her hair in various places, having no set pattern about them. Her nails seemed to be sharper, more refined than how she normally had them kept. Overall, she was different. And as Tora opened her lidded eyes, Dia would see the slitted irises begin to shift back to normal and it would dawn on her exactly what happened. The girl and the beast were finally one, and Tora was ready to return to the group.

Dia smiles as she realizes what has changed about Tora, and pulls the weretiger into a long kiss, her leathery wings folding around them both. "Well, we are quite the pair," the succubus murmurs. "Jaoth doesn't stand a chance...and neither does the rest of the world." As she and Tora made their way back to the group, Dia occasionally took to the air, flying above Tora before landing beside her, red eyes glowing in the dark.
