The second that Lumen takes a step towards the scarecrow, the thing comes to life. Its stuffed, grassy and stick limbs and grotesquely misshapen body begin moving with the speed of any normal person. As it does, the conspiracy of ravens overhead begins squawking with annoyingly loud caws as they fly down towards the ground.
Kess quickly places herself in a defensive position in front of Lumen, holding firm. If the creature attacks her or any of of her companions nearby, she'll strike.
As Kess stands at the ready with her blades drawn, Vesper takes a preemptive action and sends her arcane missiles towards the swarm of ravens. Three of the big black birds explode in a popping flash of white light. The blast seems to spook a number of them, and some of the ravens turn and fly away, leaving about half of them still overhead. However, those that do remain quickly dart down and attack Vesper, who suddenly finds herself being pecked at by a score of sharp beaks as the swarm flutters all around her with their large wings.
Chrys ignores the ravens overhead and focuses on the scarecrow shambling towards the group. She runs towards it as far as she can, which is not nearly far enough, and then hefts her javelin. "Ya need ta get back on yer pole, scrawny! Lemmie help ya with that!"she bellows, chucking it at the creature.
Chrys rushes forward and hurls her javelin at the odd, grotesque figure. Her aim is as true as can be, and she watches as the weapon strikes the scarecrow right in the middle of the chest. It would be a killing blow to any regular person, but with a creature that has no real skin, bones or muscle the javelin goes right through the it and comes out the other side, as if Chrys had just thrown it at a loose bundle of straw. The scarecrow does reel back a bit; the attack seems to have some effect, but not as much as she would have expected.

Krackle would gasp and step backwards as the flame flickered in his hand. Hearing Lumen's words, he would quickly toss the flame towards the scarecrow.
OOC: Hey guys, I think I am going to have to drop out of this campaign. I feel guilty about not being able to post as often as this game deserves and with my new job and life outside of work, I don't think I will be able to post more often anytime soon. Dbialeyak, you have been a great DM and the game has been a blast. The music you create is also a work of art. Sorry to abandon you all but I am currently in the process of dropping out of all of my games. Maybe someday I will return to DDB when life settles down a bit more. Thanks for the fun.
OOC: I'm so sorry to hear this, but I understand. You have been a wonderful player and Krackle has been such an awesome character in our adventure. You and he will be missed greatly, but he will live on and perhaps he can return someday if you find that you want to jump back in. Farewell Wreckzors, and thanks for all that you contributed to our game. I wish you the best in our outside life and ventures, and most importantly, I hope you and your family stay safe through the rest of this Covid madness!
In the meantime, I'll step in and take over for Krackle...

Although his aim seems off, as if he's distracted, or perhaps just nervous and scared by this oddly, eerie situation, Krackle's small ball of flame his the scarecrow in the leg. The tattered clothing and the bundle of sticks and straw beneath catch fire and smolder for a bit, causing the creature to flinch briefly.
With its smoking leg, the odd, grotesque figure shambles towards Chrys with surprising speed and lashes out at her with its claws, which appear to be thick, sharp thorn-laden sticks.
Attack: 20 Damage: 5, Attack: 16 Damage: 3
She feels the thorns of one of the claws on the side of her face, as he draws blood on her cheek and suddenly feels a sense of fright, now that the scarecrow is this close to her.

Lumen sees the creepy scarecrow dart forward at Chrys and wants to help her stay stalwart. He rushes around behind the scarecrow, trying to flank the creature, and look for any weak spots on its rear. His sword and dagger flash in the gloom.
Attack: 14 Damage: 9 Offhand BA Attack: 24 Damage: 3
(Also, I think Kess held her action to see if the scarecrow or ravens attacked anyone, so she's got an attack still this round, right?)

Krackle's turn.
That post didn't seem to add in the extra damage for Chry's critical hit, btw (I don't use the dice automater). Extra damage die from the crit: 5
Ok, extra damage applied!
Lumen mutters to Krackle that he heard a bard tell a story once that had a scarecrow who was looking for a brain, and he was deeply scared of fire.
Krackle would gasp and step backwards as the flame flickered in his hand. Hearing Lumen's words, he would quickly toss the flame towards the scarecrow.
