Looking around the chapel more carefully, you don’t get the sense that anything specific was targeted for destruction or defacing, it just looks like plain old vandalism.
However, under close examination, Lumen notices what appears to be gouging scrape marks on some of the walls, floor and in the torn wall hangings. In his mind, these were clearly made by a creature, or creatures with claws or talons of some kind, but one that’s much smaller than a dragon. For one thing, there’s no way that Duskbringer could have fit through the door, and you’ve seen her claws; they’re much bigger.
in addition, based on the array of blankets and books, you come to the conclusion that the children may very well have holed up in here for awhile. Fivin notes that some of the books were indeed brought here from the library inside the keep.
When Silver speaks to the small mouse that she finds scurrying in one of the corners, it seems to listen and twitch its head a couple times from side to side. She says the same thing to a robin that she sees outside the door in the grass, and it squeaks in response before flying away.
Eyebrows raising in mild surprise as Silver spoke to a small rodent and bird and they actually seemed to listen. "Quite handy. A friend of mine can do the same, are you a druid like him?" Listening to Lumen and Fivin's findings, Nym's brow tensed in concern, "I wonder if they've been able to find enough food and water in the keep to get by until now..."Pursing her lips for a moment she tried to shake herself out of useless worry and focus on what she could be doing. "I can cast the spell to find them, or rather the pair to this," She pulls out the silver encircled flower pendant, "But it only lasts for ten minutes and it would have to be within a thousand feet of me for me to be able to discern its location."Looking around and feeling like she wasn't seeing much in the way of any clue as to where they might have gone after this she asked, "Should we move our search onwards?"
How big is the rest of the floating settlement? Would 1000 feet cover most of it?
"Fivin, why don't you call to them, quietly, in elvish, given they know you?"Lumen says. "How many other places are they likely to be? Maybe we can find a central location for you to cast your spell, Nym."
Eyebrows raising in mild surprise as Silver spoke to a small rodent and bird and they actually seemed to listen. "Quite handy. A friend of mine can do the same, are you a druid like him?"
Silver shakes her head, her big soft ears flop back and forth a little.
"I am not. All Firbolg can speak with beasts, and even plants, to an extent." She smiles knowingly before adding "Of course, they may not listen. Our druids are well respected for their ability to speak with them on a deeper level, an ability I do not have. Thankfully these little ones here seem to have understood me. If anyone approaches, we should know."
She frowns to herself. "Perhaps I should have asked them to lead us to the children. My apologies."
((The keep isn't really floating, it's just that the river that comes down from the waterfall flows beneath part of the huge rock formation, which has been eroded over time to give it that otherworldly appearance from the front. The ground is much more connected at the sides and back of the rock formation, which is where the pathway leads from the chapel up to the entrance to the keep. And yes, the entire area is less than 1,000 feet across from the chapel to the other side of the keep.))
With the sound of the waterfall, there's very little chance of anyone who might be inside hearing you if you were to call out from here. Fivin points out that yelling might instead draw the attention of the dragon, if she is in fact nearby.
With the decision to move onward, Fivin leads you from the chapel along the pathway that traverses a short way up and around towards the entrance of the keep. A little ways above the chapel, you also get a full view of the loch, where Silver had been sitting before. The somewhat large body of water is fed by the waterfall above, and in turns it feeds the waterfall below that spills a great distance over the cliff to the river below. Despite the great movement of water through the place, the surface of the loch seems incredibly calm and peaceful. Around the water’s edge you see a number of stone statues of woodland animals.
As you head up the path, Fivin indicates that he thinks the children are hiding in the library, which he tells you is on the first floor of the keep, right off the main entryway.
As they travel along the upward path towards the fortress, Silver remarks to Fivin "The statues around the loch below are wonderful. Your community contains some very talented craftspeople."
----
Following Fivin's comment about the library, Silver remarks "That would make sense. The books they brought to the chapel would indicate that they have had continued access to the library.
Sir, I happened to notice that one of the buildings has a large hole in the roof, I assume where the dragon has broken through. Please, do you know what that building is?"
Fivin answers as he looks up at the damaged roof. "That is... or was, the roof of what we call the Raven's Council. It is the place where we conduct meetings, discuss important matters and celebrate the beauty of our forest and all the life that exists all around our home. It is plain to me what would have caused that hole and I am saddened to think that there has likely been more damage to that chamber than just a broken roof."
"I thank you for your compliments, though. There were indeed many artists in our tribe, and those statues are one example of the work that they have done over the years we have lived here."
As you're looking up at the damaged roof, your eyes (passive perception) catch sight of movement along the battlement that runs in between the guard towers. Silver sees them first, but the rest of you notice the four creatures that are perched up there amidst the lush greenery that grows all around the outside of the keep. Small reptilian humanoids with small horns and dragon-like snouts, they're unmistakable.
All four kobolds have clearly spotted you, and you see three of them swinging their slings, obviously preparing an attack from their perch on the wall about 30 feet up.
Realising the probable futility of her actions, but also knowing that she has to try if there is any chance that lives may be spared, Silver throws up both her hands at the end of long arms stretched forward, and calls up to the kobolds in Draconic "Please stop! If you attack we will have to defend ourselves, and you this is a fight you cannot possibly win!"

Nym nods at Lumen as they continue forward. "I think it might be safe to cast it now. I'll have to concentrate on it th-"Her sentence was cut short as the party realized they were being watched, not by the fully draconic eyes they were most worried about but much smaller ones in the form of pairs of four. Seeing their slings getting ready, the drow raised a hand as white fire began to gather in her palm, her expression that of merciless focus. At least before Silver threw up her hands, blocking her shot. The cantrip dimming yet still alight in her hand, Nym observed tensely as their new tagalong began addressing the kobolds, she assumed in Draconic though she certainly couldn't understand it.
She knew most Kobolds tended to worship dragons of all kinds as gods. Whether or not they were good or evil. And if these were worshipping Duskbringer....it didn't bode well for them if the commotion attracted the dragon's attention. Still, a part of her was curious to see how they would react to whatever it was Silver had said. Perhaps they would see Eilistraee's light and turn away from their corrupted 'god'. But if not.... She inhaled and held the breath for a moment, concentrating on one specific Kobold, ready to launch holy fire at a moment's notice if they turned hostile.
Nym is holding an action in the form of of the Cantrip Sacred Flame until any of the kobolds attack.

Silver allows her hands to fall to her sides. Then she speaks again in Draconic, not shouting this time but almost to herself, "Then I am truly sorry for what must happen now."
She brings her hands together as closed fists, side by side, then pulls them apart again slowly. In her clenched right hand, as if drawn from her left hand, appears a long shard of ice, almost like a javelin. She reaches back with it, then hurls it towards one of the central kobolds.
((Sorry think you posted right after I first started writing my post last night Dbaileyak. ^^; ))
Listening clueless to the Draconic exchange between Silver and the Kobolds, Nym glances at her companions for any clues as to what was being said but thinks better of it and continues to focus. Seeing the firbolg launch a shard of ice, the spell in Nym's hands grew and she launched out a ball of white holy fire towards the kobold she had been staring down. "Incende. If only all kobolds were as peaceable as Krackle..." She said with a resigned expression.
If the kobolds seem like they are perched in a stable spot, Lumen would want to cast [spell[silence[/spell] on them. If they seem to be more mobile, he'll cast vicious mockery on the lead one. 3 psychic damage.

Round 1
Kess had unslung her longbow as Silver was addressing the kobolds, and when the extremely short negotiations are over, she quickly draws an arrow to her bow and takes aim. Releasing the string, she watches as it sails true, and catches the kobold right in the head, even as he had been trying to seek cover behind the battlements on the wall.
Seeing that the three remaining kobolds are close enough together, he casts his spell, and in an instant, their frenzied yips and battle cries go compete silent.
One of them releases his sling right at Nym, but she easily dodges the stone that flies at her head. She responds by casting her spell and watching a flame-like radiance descend up one the creature. It does its best to jump out of the way, but it's not quite quick enough. The flames don't kill the kobold, but they certainly cause it a great deal of pain.
Silver hurdles forth her magical ice knife, which sails right towards another one of the kobolds. Her aim is good, but the kobold has enough cover up on the wall that he's able to avoid being hit by the frozen projectile.
The third kobold does something a little different. Instead of attacking with a sling, he lobs a small bag over the wall, which lands right next to Silver. Upon impact, a swam of hundreds of wasps escapes and begins to fill the air all around the firbolg. Many of them land on her as they try and sting her in obvious annoyance at their current fate. Attack: 18 Damage: 9
The fourth kobold takes aim and slings his rock at Lumen, hoping to hit the half orc spell caster. Attack: 10 Damage: 4
Meanwhile, Chrys grumbles a string of obscenities and hurls her one of her javelins at that fourth kobold. Unfortunately, it slams right on the battlement, which saves the kobold from being impaled.
Finally, Vesper casts Mage Armor on herself.
Round 2
Seeing her companion covered with wasps, Kess slings her bow over her shoulder, rushes towards the firbolg and begins swatting at the insects, hoping to clear away as many of them as she can.

As Kess swats at the wasps, Silver speaks calmly to them through the sharp pain of the stings."Please, tiny friends, I am not your enemy. Up there are those who would use you to fight their battles."
She then mutters some words in Draconic while she makes an encompassing gesture with her hands, then a twisting motion at the third kobold. The icy crystal around her neck glows gently.
