In the down time, Nym will try and look over the ornamented wooden scroll case for Chrys. And the new jewelled scroll case as well. Using Detect Magic as a ritual spell.
While Chrys and Lumen set out on their treasure hunting adventure at the loch, Nym, Aela and Kess accompany Lia out into the forest, and she shows you a number of locations where you can forage for food items. On that first day, you harvest a huge bounty of tubers, fruits, berries, nuts, herbs, spruce tips, wild onions, edible greens and an impressive number of mushroom varieties, including acorn truffles, morels, buttons, wood caps, chanterelles, also known as elf ears, dryad's saddle, and small portabellas.
Lia then leads you to an area where you find a large, natural bee hive that's situated in the crook of a an old tree. Creating a makeshift torch, she uses the smoke to calm the bees while you help her gather a large container of honey. You then return to the keep to drop off the plentiful bounty and help her sort and prepare it for storage and for that evening's meal.
Meanwhile, Kess works the forest with her bow, and with prayers to Solonor Thelandira, the elven god of hunting, archery and survival, manages to catch three rabbits, two quails, a partridge and a wild turkey. Before returning to the keep, she thanks the deity for helping to provide the bounty and maintaining the balance of the wilderness and the need to provide for the needs of those who live within its borders.
------------
After the two sopping wet treasure hunters return from their underwater spelunking expedition with a magical bag full of loot, they dry off and then set out to help Aelar and Lucan repair the Sky's Ascend. Descending from the keep and seeing once again their makeshift fixes of the five rope bridges, they catch up with the two elves who are cutting down trees in the forest a short ways out from the base of the butte and lend their assistance in the project.
It's a beautiful summer day with a slight breeze that filters through the trees and provides the perfect amount of balance from the warm sunlight. The four of you spend the entire day cutting trees, stripping branches and sawing the logs into planks, which you then begin hauling up the stairs of the Sky's Ascend. The work is hard, but it feels good to be out in the sunshine and working with your hands in such a heavenly wilderness setting, with two strong and very capable elves, who display a remarkable skill for woodworking.
The four of you have a very productive and enjoyable first day before returning to the keep for a hearty dinner that has been prepared by Lia and Vesper, consisting of many of the food items that the others gathered during their first day of harvest. After the meal, you enjoy a pleasant evening of storytelling, music, relaxation and whatever activity you wish to do, whether it be reading, meditation, strolling around the loch or sitting at the waters edge looking up at the stars before returning for the night.
Before the group breaks for the evening, Chrys hands out another satchel full of coins to each of the party members, this time containing the treasure from the loch. After displaying the finds to the others, Chrys pats on the strange, bottomless bag Lumen brought back with him. "Seems like it kin hold jus' bout anythin', so we can store lotsa stuff in here 'till we get back ta a town ta sell it. Also, we got two healing potions here that would be better in someone's backpack than wit' me. I'm thinkin' Lumen an' Alae kin take 'em, but I'm open ta hearin' yer opinions," she says.
Every member of the party can add: 516 cp 229 sp 122 gp
Alae seems lost at the sight of the treasure haul. She was impressed with the small amount handed to her the day before, but is positively overwhelmed at the amount Chrys and Lumen bring up.
"I have never seen so much wealth in one place before," she says breathlessly. "Does this not all belong to the people of Ravenglade, though? I cannot imagine Duskbringer deigning to carry this any great distance, and his kobold followers were too few in number to carry it all either. Was it not stolen from here?" She looks at Aelar for an answer.
"We have also retrieved treasure, of a kind," she continues with a smile. With Nym, Lia and Kess she presents their findings from the forest. "It is a bountiful place. I look forward to seeing more of it again tomorrow."
Nym enjoyed herself thoroughly learning from Lia of the local fauna and which mushrooms were safe to eat and which weren't. Always an important distinction no matter where you were. It was also nice to get the chance to get to spend more time with their newest companion, Alae. Bees weren't new to the drow (unfortunately) as she had already had a bad encounter with them. "That's actually how I came to meet Duaric." Nym whispers to Alae as she watches in captivation how Lia manages to tame the bees with the smoke. "You haven't met him yet. He's a friend of mine. Druid dragonborn. Knows the elves here as well. Anyway I was trying to explore the forest when I apparently knocked into a bee hive and I just ran, but they were swarming all over me. Was hard to see where I was going. Tripped right into a big patch of mud. After Duaric finished laughing, he spoke to the bees I think and shooed them off, healed me and sort of took me under his wing. Most of what I know of the surface is because of him."
It was a good day for everyone it seemed. Nym was just as gobsmacked at the treasure presented by Chrys and Lumen as Alae was. She reaches with a smile to take the offered portion of her own from the dwarf before hesitating at the firbolg's point. Frowning and glancing towards Aelar and the others. "I'm sure this could make a great difference for your clan if you buy supplies for re-fortifying and supplies." Though she wasn't sure what the closest means of 'civilization' and thus a market were. Focusing back on the bounty that Alae revealed, Nym nods and speaks up, "Though I still argue that calling these ones 'elf ears' is ridiculous. What elf has ears that look like those??" Shaking her head, the drow then agrees with Chrys, "It makes sense for the least armored of us to have the healing potions."
Chrys nods, handing out the potions and taking a sniff at the collection gathered. "You guys are gonna have me eatin' green tonight, ain't ya. Don't s'ppose you could bring a rabbit or somethin' back wit' ya next time? A girl needs her protein if she's gonna be doin' some heavy liftin'. An' whew, it sure looks like we're gonna be up ta our elbows in sweat by tomorrow," she adds, though her telltale grin informs the others that this doesn't seem to be a bad thing in her opinion.
After dinner, Chrys takes off and looks for Fivin, who understandably seems to have been making himself scarce. "Wonder where that librarian got off to," she mutters to herself as she wanders the halls of the Keep.
Regarding the treasure, Aelar says, "Please... do not feel that you need to share Duskbringer's treasure with us. As you can see, we do not have large piles of gold and silver here at our keep, nor do place high value on such materials. We live off of the land, far away from civilization, and have little need for treasure. Much of what we have was already here when we reclaimed the keep as our home over a hundred years ago."
"What treasure you found in the cave below was surely brought here by Duskbringer and her kobold minions, and you have every right to claim it as your own, especially after slaying the beast yourselves."
Seeing the piles of vegetables and greens on the table, Chrys is certainly relived to see that rabbit was indeed on the menu tonight, thanks to Kess, who had a successful day hunting small game in the forest with her bow.
Wandering around the keep after dinner, she does find Fivin in the library. He has been present a few times at meals, but for much of the past couple of days, he has spent nearly all of his time in here at at the desk updating his ongoing account of the elves and their history. After all, he is the chronicler of the tribe. He's been furiously finishing his book, Warriors of Sehanine Book III, which ends with the defeat of Duskbringer by a brave band of adventurers called The Dawnbringers, who saved Ravenglade Keep.
When Chrys enters, Fivin shows her the last couple of pages he has written and says, "I never thought I would write about a dwarf in any of my tomes, but you and your companions have earned a place in these pages. You have saved our home, and in saving Faen and Syllin, you have certainly saved our future and are not immortalized in our history.
Then the frail, older elf looks Chrys directly in the eye and says with a touch of sadness in his voice.
"Chrysoberyl, please know, I genuinely care about Aelar, Lia and the children more than anything They are my family. Unfortunately, I had lost sight of that in my frustration and anger after we had lost so many in the battle with the orcs and with the dragon. I became consumed with the idea of trying to protect them and make it so that we could never lose another battle to the next rabble rousing brutes who invade our home."
"It broke my heart to see what had done to Lucan, and when I realized my mistake, it was too late. I did not want Aelar or Lia to see him in that state, and I was desperate to keep that tragic event a secret, even though I myself did not know how to rectify it."
"I could not ever imagine that your friend with her moon magic could save him. She was clearly sent here by our goddess of the Moonlight... you all were, and I see that now. Please forgive me for my errors I judgement, which, had it not been for you all, would have ended in even more tragedy."
Chrys crosses her arms, not able to entirely rid herself of her suspicion. Still, the old man's seemingly heartfelt plea moves her a bit, and the jaw that she hadn't realized she'd been clenching relaxes a little.
"Well, 'sgood that ya seem ta be learnin' from yer follies. Though, t'be honest, it ain't me, nor e'en Aelar you really gotta apologize ta. It's Lucan, Lia, an' their kids. Dyin' in an honorable battle is one thing. Bein' kidnapped for experiments, that's different. Ya hurt that family in a way that goes deeper'n a clean death, an' I think ya know it. Maybe ain't my place ta say it, but ye gotta put down them books an' open yer eyes ta the people 'round ya, an' start talkin' ta them. Recordin' history's good an' all, but yer makin' it right now. Don't let it pass ye by, ya don't want ta be writin' about what family ye let pass ya by on account o' yer books."
She walks around the library, considering her next words. "I didn't come here ta be yer confessor, actually. I got me a problem that needs a brain like yers ta puzzle out." Slowly, Chrys begins to explain the story of the Mask of Shar, the forgotten temple, the fearsome demonic presence within, the corrupting mask that the Pie Pals had managed to somehow shatter, but only after it had taken one of their own, and the cultists dogging their footsteps even now.
"... an' so two o' them shards, they been dealt with, best we can. But I still got the one on me here, an' I ain't got no idea what ta do with it, or how ta keep people safe from it. That's really why I'm here. I need yer wisdom, ol' man. Maybe them years ya got on me can help us out here."
Fivin listens intently to what Chrys says, and then the old elf responds, "I never imagined that I would be lectured by a dwarf, but alas... it seems that your kind does possess wisdom, even though it is hidden behind your plain speak. What you say is true, Chrysoberyl, and I will take your words to heart."
"Regarding the other matter at hand... It alarms me to hear that followers of Shar have been more actively lately. Being so removed from most other folk here in our home deep within the wood, I am limited in what I hear about the goings on in the world beyond the High Forest, but I have lived long enough to know that she has always attracted folk with desperate minds and twisted hearts to do her bidding and spread her influence."
"I do not envy you for the dangers that seemed to have found you. If what you say is true, then it seems that dragons are the least of your trouble going forward. At the same time, I could say that any misguided cultist who crosses your path will surely find trouble of their own."
"As for this mask shard that you carry... I know that there are a few ways to ensure the destruction of an enchanted item such as this. One would be throwing it into the mouth of a volcano, or putting it under the fire breath of an aged and powerful gold dragon. An object like this could be also crushed, but only with a hammer made of adamantine, although that is a rare substance indeed. If you were able to find some, then you could have it forged into a weapon. None are easy tasks, but from what little I know of you, Chrysoberyl, you are one who does not shy away from difficult challenges."
Chrys sits at a table and steeples her fingers together, leaning her chin into her hands, brows furrowed.
"So we'll be needed a hot ol' volcano, a friendly gold dragon, or a hammer made o' adamantine. Yer right, they're all tall orders." She leans back, a grin starting on her face. "Short girls like me love them tall orders, though. An' this is gold, really... better 'n stumblin' around blindly with this thing, hopin' fer the best. Thank ye, Fivin... I truly appreciate that ya shared that information."
Sitting back, she looks around the library. "Say, ye got a map o' Faerûn here somewhere? Might be good if I could localize where th' nearest volcano is from here, an' also where the nearest major dwarven minin' settlement is. Sometimes th' two ain't so far 'part from one another, ya know? Might be able ta look inta two o' these leads at the same time, if I kin get an idea o' where ta start lookin''."
Fivin answers Chrys, "Sadly, I do not have a map of Faerûn here in the library. I am more of a chronicler than a cartogerpher. However, there are many tomes and texts here that contain information about a wide range of topics about the world, including history, geography and other pertinent topics. I would be happy to do some research while you are helping Aelar and Lucan with their repairs and share with you what I find that may be of use to you regarding this matter."
-------------
Over the course of the next few days, you continue to help the Ravensglade elves repair, rebuild, restore and restock around the the keep. Providing their assistance with the construction tasks, Chrys and Lumen help finish the Sky's Ascend with a refurbishment that's even better and more secure than before, and then they move onto the much bigger job of fixing the hole in the roof of the Raven's Council. It's a multi-day effort of cutting down more trees, stripping and hauling logs, sawing them into planks and then completing the actual construction.
It's certainly hard work, but it's the kind of activity that can be very satisfying, although very different from the work of adventuring. At let there are no real perils, other than the normal, every day dangers one might face, like twisting your ankle while walking around the rocky hillsides above the keep or getting a sunburn on the back of your neck while you work outside. The overall mood here at the keep is peaceful and relaxing, and during this time, the late summer weather is perfect, with temp that are warm, but not too hot, and light breezes that blow down from the high cliffs above.
While this is going on, Nym, Alae and Kess continue to forage and hunt in the forest with Lia, and every day you bring back a large bounty of things that you collect. One day you even fish the creek, and catch a number of trout, one of which you have for dinner that night. Lia smokes the rest for longer storage.
Meanwhile, Vesper has completed restored the mosaic in the entry hall, removing all of the paint that the kobolds had slathered over the beautiful golden colored disk, surrounded by flames, with a crescent moon and two stars set in shimmering stone. The first time you see it in full, you can't help but marvel at this magnificent piece of artwork, which Aelar reminds you is a testament to a treaty signed in Askavar by the moon, sun and star elves that created a tranquil but short era of peace. As a show of the newfound unity, it was named after the name of the elves themselves, the Tel’Quessir, which is what they call this room.
During the evenings, you all enjoy good meals together with lots of conversation and merriment, and there is lots of time for visiting, playing music, singing, reading, walking, playing with Faen and Syllin, and doing whatever you wish before retiring to your small, comfortable bed chambers where you settle down for quality rest before resuming the next morning.
By the end of the sixth day of this regular schedule of activity, all of the repairs have been completed, except for the massive shattered table in the Raven's council, which Lucan says he's looking forward to refurbishing himself over the next few weeks, and the pantry is stocked with a huge array of food that you've helped gather.
That evening, the elves hold an even more special celebratory dinner in your honor, and they once again thank you for all of your incredibly generous and brave efforts that you have shown them over the past week. Fivin takes a short time to enjoy the meal with you, but he retires early back to the library, saying that he is almost done compiling information for Chrys.
Aelar says, "Friends... Dawnbringers, it has been wonderful to have your company and your most gracious help, but I fear that we are coming close to the time when we will part ways as you leave from this keep and begin your next adventures. What, may I ask, will do once you depart from here? What lies ahead on your path?"
"And if you would like to share, we would love to hear what memories of our time together here at Ravenglade you will take most with you when you go."
For the first time in a long time, Silver... Alae, she reminds herself... finds herself thinking of somewhere as home. To live and work somewhere, to help provide for the people there, it is certainly the closest she has come since leaving the Vale. The thought of leaving is sad, but she had never expected to stay. Truthfully she had climbed that ascent with no expectations whatsoever.
"Thank you all for being such gracious hosts," she speaks up "I will always remember this as the place I met the Dawnbringers, and found a new purpose in travelling with them, as one of them. I understand that there is much that we hope to achieve, completing quests already in motion. But as for Ravenglade, I will treasure the times I walked in your woods, and swam in your loch.
Lia - I am sure Nym and Kess will agree with me that our time foraging with you has been delightful. It was an honour to hear you speak about your home and your family. I'm sure Sehanine will bless you and all your endeavours." She raises her cup in toast, then takes her seat again.
Lumen loses himself in the work of rebuilding the keep. It's good for him. He was skeptical of this at first, having been in a full-speed sprint across Faerun for some time, rootless. The inertia kept him going, and it was hard to slow things. But he settled into the rhythms and home, wondering to himself at his comfort among elves.
He can't help but make music, and he finishes his last touches on the ballad he's composed about the Dawnbringers. He plays it whenever anyone asks, often with the major illusion of the arboreal symphony accompanying him. He spends portions of every evening regaling the kids with stories and illusions and teaching them some of his music. He gives only a brief apologetic look at Lia and Lucan for corrupting their elven children with decidedly non-elven music.
He thanks Chrys for handling his portion of coin. He keeps some spending money for himself in his pack and hands over the bulk of it to the bag of holding.
When Chrys seeks out Fivin, he joins her and hands over the book they got from the goblin temple. "Might help your research." He will join a few times over the course of the week, to read with Fivin and try to understand more about Shar and what they will face. He also is a bit mistrustful of the librarian and wants to ensure his "work" on Shar stays academic and helpful, and does not become problematic. He'll ask for the book back at the end. He also finishes his perusal of The Curse of the Wolf. Does he learn anything helpful given their larger quest?
"I think we are headed back the way we came, right? We do have to let Dundragon know his dryad friend is okay. Along the way, we have the hag to contend with, any remainder of that will-o-the-wisp that exists. I'm hoping the red-handed orcs are no longer a problem. As far as the assassin, I assume we'll have to draw him out, if we haven't lost him for good. We don't have any easy Shar-related targets, right? And, of course, finding a volcano to throw the shard into. One question is what we do with the red stone the hag wanted. It'd be bad if she got it, so we'll have to prepare for an angry hag. In general, we'll want to warn people about the larger threat we've uncovered. So getting back to Yartar is our goal?"
Nym truly feels like the days and nights spent at Ravenglade Keep were bliss. She imagined that this might be what Arvandor felt like. This is what her people could have and experience in time. Many nights she thought of sending her mentor a magical message, but Nym could never think of the right words. There was a good likelihood that Duaric might tell them of her when they next ventured out. Guilt gnawed at her when she tried to settle into her trance at night, a small voice in her mind insisting that her people could come here and experience the same wonders. But it didn't feel right. Even if she were to ask Lia and get permission. This place wouldn't be theirs. And it wouldn't be right to encroach upon the Warriors of Sehanine's hospitality. This was their sacred place. The people of Lil Velkyn Obsul would find their own.
Nym learned much in their time at the Keep, through her reading of Helpful Herbs and their Habitats and then questioning Lia about what she read the next day while they worked foraging and fishing. Though she wasn't much help hunting since she wasn't any good with ranged weaponry. But at night she enjoyed being able to indulge in simple pleasures like dancing to Lumen's music, sometimes to the epic ballad he had composed about their own group and sometimes just singing along to gentler songs he'd play. The drow speaks with the bard of all the musical instruments that he knew how to play and carried with him and the only instrument that she herself knew how to play, a flute with an ethereal echoing quality to make it sound like more than one was playing, since not everyone could be such a majestic conductor as himself. If she has enough free time, Nym also tries to read Fey Spirits: Seelie and Unseelie, as it seemed both interesting and useful.
Even with the daily work, the rest and nightly relaxation did wonders for Nym's soul and body. Every night before she bedded down to trance, Nym would use a healing spell on herself if she had the magical reserves to do so. Slowly the scars from Duskbringer's acid began to go from it's original angry red to pink to white to a few shades lighter than her normal dark skin. There were times when the skin would feel tight still, but the stretching and healing was helping.
The week seems to last years and yet goes by in a blink at the same time. It was invigorating to be able to witness the Keep's transformation and most of what it looked like before the attacks. The celebratory dinner felt...final. Bittersweet as it was much more bountiful than the first dinner that they had here, yet sad since it would be their last here. At Aelar's last question, Nym's lavender eyes immediately look to Lucas before smiling at Alae's words, feeling much the same. Not wanting to bring up a possibly uncomfortable memory, even if she was proud of her deed, the drow states, "I feel much the same. Working together to defeat a dragon was memorable enough, but being able to return your home back to you not just physically, but spiritually was a true work of heart and art. May the moon ever shine brightly upon your Keep and your clan." Raising a glass along with Alae.
Chrys eats heartily, just as she always does, at each meal, laughing and joking with the others in true dwarven style, while downing enough elven ale to make eyes pop -- a reward well-earned after a hard day's work, she explains repeatedly. While no amount of coaxing ever seems to be able to bring other people to want to try to match the dwarven "thirst" for celebration after a hard days' work -- quite possibly because the hangovers would tend to last longer that the celebrations themselves -- true to her dwarven nature, Chrys manages to both impress the locals and start her mornings in good cheer. Having a sense of purpose, both in rebuilding the keep, and larger goals, helps just as much as the feasting.
"What I'd remember the most?" Chrys says, at the final feast. "Hah! That'd be bringin' a dragon down through yer roof! Real sorry 'bout all the repairs we needed ta do after that, but I gotta admit, I don't think I'll be seein' that ever again in my lifetime. That's a story ta bring home with ya!" she cheers. After a moment, she quiets down, and becomes more thoughtful, placing her cup down and squinting. "Honestly though... I think what I'm gonna remember the most 'bout bein' here, is seein' Lia, Lucan, Faen, an' Syllin t'gether again. There's just somethin' 'bout family comin' together that gets me in the feels,"she admits with a touch of wistfulness. Then she shoots a grin at Vesper. "An' seein' Vesper lettin' them kids help with the paintin' o' yer history o' the Tel’Quessir also will stay wit' me. We dwarves place a lot o' importance on recordin' history. So much ta lose if ya don't keep it well, an' seein' a keeper here in yer Keep after ya nearly lost it all... that's jus' poetic, ta me. Fate come full 'round an' smiled on ye good folk, and I was here ta witness it. Praise be to the Duin fer bringin' me here, 'spite o' all the hardships on the road down this path." She raises her cup and takes a long drink, then sets it down with a smile.
As the evening wears on, and the Dawnbringers attempt to plan their next move, Chrys nods in agreement with Lumen, before interjecting. "Now, while I'm hearin' ya, an' I'm 'specially agreein' that we need ta revisit ol' Haddie there an' either make good on our promise, or put her outta her misery, I don't think we wanna be lookin' fer trouble with the Sharites. Fer one, we got one big Shar-related target right in our sights: that abandoned Temple. We ain't dealt with the demon livin' in the pool there yet, an' ta be honest, I ain't hot on doin' it jus' yet either. Seems like a bad idea ta bring a shard o' the mask back to the place where it got its power, if ya get me. I'd rather deal with it first. An' ta do that," she says, leaning forward and tapping her finger on the table. "Fivin's been gatherin' some information fer me on how we might best destroy th' shard. That means we gotta either find us a friendly ol' gold dragon who kin breath fire as hot as a volcano. Or we gotta find a real hot volcano. Or we gotta forge a hammer outta admantine, an' smash this last shard ta bits ourselves.
If we'll be tracin' our steps backaways, I don't see why we couldn't take a stop by Melton... see how the settlement's doin', an maybe I could pick ol' Flint Frostforge's brain fer what he might know 'bout adamantine mines. Seems like the simplest path to a solution ta me."
Aelar, Lia and Lucan graciously listen to you all as you share your thoughts, and then after dinner the merriment continues, with more singing, dancing, storytelling and joyful interactions and activities. At one point, Fivin calls Chrys, and whoever want to join, into the library, to explain what he's discovered in his research.
"I was able to find out a number of things that may be of help to you in your quests ahead, although I hope that it is not too much information so as to add too many complications to your decisions. As you may have seen, it is easy for me to get lost in my research, but I like to be thorough."
"There are a few volcanoes in the northern regions of Faerûn, but Mount Hotenow is most notable and the closest that I have found. It is situated northeast of the city of Neverwinter, deep in Neverwinter Wood, apparently above an ancient dwarven city called Gauntlgrym. It is said to be home to fire giants, a fearsome red dragon, and many other fiery beasts. I have also read about a volcanic structure called The Dragon's Eye, that is located somewhere in the Spine of the World, but I do not know any more details than that."
"As for gold dragons, I have found particular entries that tell of two such creatures. Of course, the lore surrounding dragons, especially powerful dragons, is often steeped in legends and tall tales. I do now know if either of these dragons really exists but nonetheless, this is what I have found. I should also add, that if indeed they are real, gold dragons are often extremely reclusive creatures and are very hard to find. It is said that one wants to find a gold dragon, it will find you first, if it so chooses."
"Palarandusk, who is often referred to as The Unseen Protector, is said to be a good natured and whimsical creatures who lives somewhere in the Sword Mountains and is a friend to the gnomes who live near him. The other is Valamaradace, more commonly known as the Dragon Queen of Silverymoon. She is said to be kind and empathetic, and resides in the woods near Everlund."
"Finally... On the subject of adamantine. As a dwarf, perhaps you already know some of this. It is an extremely rare material, usually composed of a specific ore called adamantite, which is only found in rocks that fall from the heavens, or in a veins that lie far beneath the surface. Your kin folk are among the only ones who know how and where to mine adamantite, and also have the skills and equipment needed to work it, but I do not have specific information about who can produce it or where they can be found."
"However, I have read that the gray dwarves who reside in the underworlds deep below the surface are said to experts when it comes to crafting adamantine items. Perhaps your companion Nyn can be of help. She comes from this region, perhaps she has information or knowledge that could be helpful."
"Either way, I hope that some of this information will prove useful to you during your adventure when you leave here. When you do go, be well and be safe, good folk, and may the light of Sehanine Moonbow guide you during times of trouble."
((I presume Chrysoberyl would have gone over what she and Fivin had discussed before with the rest of the Dawnbringers.))
Nym perks in interest and joins Fivin into the library, listening as he explains what his research had discovered. Soaking up the information with interest, the cleric couldn't help but be more intrigued at the prospect of friendly dragons, or at the very least not hostile ones. Lips pursed as Fivin suggested she could help with matters regarding the world below ground, Nym looks down before meeting Chrys' eyes and nodding.
"I do know of a city that has amazing Duergar smiths. That's what the grey dwarves call themselves. I passed through and didn't buy much in the way of weapons, so I'm not sure if they sell adamantine weapons or know how to forge them. But if they don't, at the very least they might know someone who does. They do a lot of trade with the Underdark and even topsiders."
Nym explains, "You can't reach Gracklstugh from the topside though. I know how to get there, but we'll have to travel a few days underground though the Middledark."

"Wonderful news!! Dragon slaying is no small task. You are good folk, Nym. I look forward to the return of you and your new friends."
(Posting on phone so keeping it simple)
In the down time, Nym will try and look over the ornamented wooden scroll case for Chrys. And the new jewelled scroll case as well. Using Detect Magic as a ritual spell.

Chrys nods at Aelar's appraisal, and puts off the question of consulting with Fivin until after some heavy labor is done.

Every member of the party can add:

Nym Durnodel - Aspiring Heroes of Faerûn // Danica Amastacia - Red Dead Annihilation

There's just somethin' 'bout family comin' together that gets me in the feels," she admits with a touch of wistfulness.
