William and the crew start divvying our responsibilities and making a make shift camp in the shade of the crashed airship. Moxely is preparing some food as he rations it out. Buddy and the crew start tearing down some of the debris to make a makeshift shelter that builds into the hull of the ship. Lespin is running around talking to each one of the civilians trying to comfort them.
As Tara begins to look around she scans the horizon. She imagines the area maps that she categorized in her mind and pictures them to be around SouthEast Breland. Given the amount of time on the airship and how fast they were going. It would be three days journey by foot.... probably more with this large of a group. She walks further towards the back of the and sees the trail of destruction and and Giant gouge in the earth behind the airship. She sees deep in the loose earthen trail a large flat stone approximately 200 yards back.
Tara's face twists with concentration for a moment, and she pulls out her map, consulting it for a few seconds before nodding. "I believe we are currently in southeast Breland. Getting back would likely be more than three days on foot with this size of a group." She gestures towards the rock, still speaking. "I can see a large, flat rock that way, pretty much the only break in the horizon other than us. We may wish to check it at some point. However, the first order of business should be water."
"I do not require food, water, or sleep" Jax would reply to Virnen as his black jacket whips behind him in the desert wind. "I will accompany you on watch and will protect you while you sleep as well" The warforged would add with a small nod as he looks out over the horizon. When Tara mentions they are within Breland, Jax's eye would brighten. "It is fortunate that we are within Breland. My service to this country should help if we manage to find civilization." The warforged would then begin moving about, plucking any useful pieces of scrap metal or parts from the sand and placing them into his pack. "If we find food or water.. no matter how tainted... I can create a device to purify it by tomorrow morning if needed" The artificer would add as he continues to collect anything he thinks might be useful.
At this point you see the workers of the ship are bringing out barrels and crates of supplies. It looks like there are some supplies that made it three the crash. Buddy is counting rations and the water count they had on reserve. It looks like the immediate necessities are taken care of.
Salqwyn tries to gather the group off to the side with William. "We still have the issue of the finding who sabotaged the ship. unless they were somehow able to make it off safely it is most likely they are still here. We should set about seeing if we can find them. Tara you seem to have read a great deal. Do you know if there is any way to detect a doppelganger?"
Tara frowns thoughtfully. "There is a druidic spell that can identify shapeshifters, but it is rare and fairly powerful. It also runs the risk of killing the one subjected to it, if that matters. They are also only able to glean surface thoughts, so extended questioning would make it difficult for them to maintain the disguise, however, I do not know if anyone knows people on the ship well enough to do that. Alternatively, we could watch to see who tries to leave camp alone..." She nibbles her lip, deep in thought.
"So let's make sure that any watches set are also on the look out for anyone trying to sneak out. Captain if you could instruct your men to also look for the passenger manifest that could be helpful. And if I could trouble you for a set of navigator's tools I might be able to work out our more precise location."
Lucky, having tended to the wounded as best he could, spends some time inspecting the wreckage of the ship. Presumably it will never fly again, but how severely smashed up is it? Is it still possible to enter and go through the hallways and rooms, looking for evidence?
When the group is together, he will suggest: Sneak out? I guess they might do that. But then again, they haven't finished the job yet, have they? I mean, we're all still alive, right? Still able to go back to civilization and tell of the murder of that Sophie girl. Actually, and he holds up his Recording Stone, some of us are in a position to do that even if they do finish the job. No way all this is staying secret. Anyways Captain, if I were you I'd send your folks out in groups of four. No-one should be alone or with just one other person - whoever did this is a stone-cold killer.
Lucky will stand on the edge of the area where the group is talking, and start to narrate the events of the past hour into the Recording Stone, with as much detail as he can.
Lucky frowns, then smiles, his mildly elongated feline teeth glistening. I guess they're not all that common. Poor little miss Sophie had one, though. It's a Recording Stone. Magic things. There's always a pair. This one, its little buddy is sitting in the office of my newspaper, and once a week everything I've told it is transferred there, where they are eagerly awaiting the news from Lucky Dale, Roving Reporter and travel writer. He gives his best grin, which falters after a moment. As for Sophie's stone, I... don't really know what happens when you die. You have to... sort of... 'bond' with the stone to use it. I don't know if it transmits what it has stored if the owner dies. Actually, now that I think about it, me recording all this stuff is maybe just painting a massive target on my back. He shrugs. Well, at least life won't be boring. But see, me and you and Sophie, we're all about finding answers, and telling the world the truth, am I right?
Tara listens closely, nodding along. "Interesting. I did study Khorvairan newspapers, but it was brief, and I did not learn about these stones. Thank you." Upon Lucky's last sentence, a slight smile appears on her face. "I look for knowledge, yes. As for telling the world the truth...well, many nondr-I mean, people," she hastily corrects. "Many people do not react well to certain truths."
"I have found that truth often times determined by perspective..." Jax would add as the others discuss the stone. The warfforged would then make his way towards the co-captain. "How may I be of service? Do you believe it is possible get this craft back into the air? Perhaps we could convert the sails into a type of hot air balloon?" Jax would ask while looking at the remains of the ship.
William walks away with the group, out of the sight of the rest of the civilians and crew. From what you’ve seen of him, he was clearly the “face” of the operation. He was the one always having a smile on his face and schmoozing the people on the ship, ensuring everything went well. Without prying eyes on him as he turns the corner he slams his fist into the side of the ship, cracking the wood where it strikes. The anger and grief welling up inside him. “You’re damn right, we need to find this killer!” He exclaims as he chokes down the sadness, his voice quakes momentarily before he composes himself. I’ll take care of this lot, you find the bastard that killed my brother. You have free reign of what’s left in the ship.” He tosses Jax a set of keys. “If anything still locked up, use those. If you need to get inside and search, do it; if you need to interrogate every man, woman, and, child, do it. Just make sure I’m there when we cut off his head.” He pauses for a moment as he clears his head of emotion. “Hot air balloon? Maybe.... maybe we’ll make a land skiff and ride the dunes. Too early to tell.”He follows up to Squall with “if you can find the manifest and tools you need, go ahead and take them. I reckon you’ll have a tough time finding them.”
Making your way back to the side of the ship where camps are being made. You see Moxely tending to the people and offering them some of the rations given cleared to use. Buddy is talking to the men, he picks out three crewmen. “You lot, take some supplies with you and follow the path of our crash. We need to find the captains body.... he at least deserves a funeral.” Lespin is standing on top of crates hastily scribbling in his book as he watches over the other crew as he’s desperately trying to keep track of inventory.
Tara just restrains herself from asking the purpose of a funeral in front of the crew, remembering her study of grief. She looks at the others, raising an eyebrow. "I would suggest we check the ship first. Questioning will be more efficient if we do not do it while the passengers are still exhausted and disorganized." She runs a finger over the now scabbed over cuts on her palm, turning her emblem absently in her fingers.
Lucky watches the passengers and crew, trying to fix every single face in his mind. He's keen to enter the crashed ship and see what can be seen, but before that he goes up to William and speaks in a soft voice, easily overheard by anyone nearby but intended not to carry and be heard by the passengers. The killer might be gone, right? Or they might be in there,he points to the ship, or they might be out here, he points to the passengers and crew. If they're here, and they start killing folk when we're inside the ship, can you deal with it? Have you got people who can fight back?

""I promise to do my best to keep it alive long enough for you to execute it." he would finish before turning and rejoining the others. "Captain provided me the keys to the ship and has requested we finish our investigation by any means neccessary. I would like to begin by searching the ship for equipment, crew, and the murderer. Whi would like to accompany me?" The warforged would ask as the yellow light on his face flickers patiently.
"I will. There are a lot of questions that still need answered." Salqwyn waits for everyone to get ready and makes her way into the ship with the others.
"I'd like to come!" Tara says eagerly, fingers tapping against the silver dragon scales woven into her dress. "As Squall said, there are many questions still to be answered, and much to be learned."
