“i mean’t no offense if offense is offered to be taken,” he says. He tips his hat to you in respect.
”This place, you see. It has no fire. No fire indeed. A curse on this island, it would appear”.
He points to your chest with a long and curved finger. “However, the magics within...Ah, yes. They possess fire. Raw, I would say so.”
As he finishes this sentence, a newcomer walks from the path between the cliffs, onto the scene (that’s you, Arc_raven).
Yurik finishes his thought. “What I meant to infer is that I can unleash the magic within you, allow you its access, you see. Your soul, well it’s your currency. It’s already damned in the first place. Many here in this realm will want a piece of it. Don’t fret though. In exchange for services rendered to others, they may part with a portion of their soul to you, as well.”
He holds out a small metallic glass looking container, a sort of fragile water skin. “Here,” he says as he pushes to to you. “Take this”. A gift as proof of my words. It will hold the currency of your soul and those parts of others you’ve collected.”
He hands you two more, seeing your friend and the most likely soon to be friend approaching from the cliff path.

With three containers in hand, Odysseus turns to see where this jovial voice comes from, asking what's goin on.
Thinking: I wish I had an aswer...
But at least he looks...normal? Actually the paladin does not really know what normal would look like anymore....
then to Yurik:
Thank you but...What are these?
ooc: @Arc_raven:
- we are still at the begininng and the situatio is still very confused, you need to read the previous pages, please. Our characters have no memory of their previous life
- can you give a very brief description of how the elf looks like?
- to sum up: there are pillars we must touch with a fist (DONE), with water (DONE) and with fire (NOT DONE YET).
i SEE from your sheet that you have THE CRIMSON RITE chance, it would be nice to use it...or anything else to create a fire.
PS: this mage I am talking with is really getting on my nerves
Yurik says “those containers will hold the essence of your soul. You can use those containers as currency in this realm”.
He looks to the pillars. “If you would like me to unleash the parts of your memories that hold the incantations of your magic, I can do so for a small price”.
DM: Each of you have 100 soul currency if you want to use them.
“Just a glance... is all I ask of your soul. A small price for the unleashing of your magic. What do you say?”
DM: There are ways to solve the puzzle that don’t require going through this guy. Ask around a little bit if you don’t want to bargain with him. His small fee is 5 soul currency from those of you wishing to unlock memories of magic. I do want to move on soon to the rest of it. No rush and no forcing you to commit to his terms.

Ooc: not clear to me, u r saying that if we don't bargain we cannot use magic in your adventure? Not even role playing the epiphany of discovering we do have magic abilities?
In game: struck by the news, Odysseus passes the torch and the container to the newcomer
You can definitely use magic in the story. More than one way to get it. If you think about it, magic is tied to memory in a sense. This guy is ONE option.
This soul currency thing is a dark souls rip off. It’s fine. Won’t kill your characters or do any weird stuff to you.
You’re not railroaded to this guy. If your character doesn’t wanna do it, explore other options.

Upon taking the soul flask and with your agreement, you feel a sudden rush of memory flood over you. Fleeting images of your memories when learning your magical abilities flood your mind.
At the pillar, you use your spell. It ignites violently. The flames seem to reach all the way up to the cloudy sky and beyond. a slow rumble begins to shake the island in its entirety. The people here all grab onto something for support. Beyond, the Sea begins to part slowly leaving a 20ft wide gap in it that seems to stretch onward, twisting here and there.
Dark Mother comes to your group after the shaking settles. “Well, done I must say. “ She looks to the parted water. “The Sea of the Dead awaits you.” She smiles slightly. “You are truly a wonder. I wish you luck on your journey.”

DM: Memories of magic come back to you all if you have them. As you make bargains/collect soul fragments, more of YOU may come back to you. It’s an addition to the original design of the campaign to put power in your hands. There will be NPCs with side quests that offer soul fragments as payment. And, as you may guess, most people in this realm could care less about coin. What good would it do them?
Good job guys. Finish up what you want here then let’s head to the Sea of the Dead and get some possible puzzles/combat going!

“He-hello” you see a abnormally hairy elf walk up to you out of breath “finally normal people do you know what’s going on here”

Odyssues holds fast to a tree trunk but in the end, in order to look at what happens, he gently falls to the ground.
The wonder is extreme, even if someway expected by him: he feels relieved he had read well the hint in the pillars.
When the Dark MOther approaches them, he would like to slap her , but he refrains.
Instead, he turns to the grey elf, thinking
If what happened is true, it is just if he...recollected somthing we all should have remember in the first place..
The bargain now can make sense, even if it is a gamble:
What if I have nothing of this...magic..
He asks the elf:
What happened after the bargain? How do you feel now?
DM: Memories of magic come back to you all if you have them. As you make bargains/collect soul fragments, more of YOU may come back to you. he replies: I feel a mixture of power and pain. But this will be useful for us we should finish up here and continue onwards
Odysseus take in the information: even unwillingly, he turns to Yurik and speaks briefly:
There, you showed true to your words. You can have part of my soul. But, all in all, how does it work? what will you do with it?
I took away 5 soul tokens
