"This isn't makin' a lot of sense to me. Somebody smashed their way through these doors, killed everyone that lived here, then threw their corpses into the ocean, probably in the last day or two. That much makes sense, even if we don't know who did the attackin' and why. Coulda been the Tammeraut, the Sea Princes, or even the sahuagin, either murderin' for fun or to loot whatever was in here. But after they left, someone else boarded up all the doors. Meanin' there's at least one survivor in here, and they're hidin' wherever they hid to avoid whoever killed their people. Think we should call out, or wait 'til morning after we're all rested?"
Boko melts into the shadows and peeks around the western hallway. She notices that a doorway in the north wall has been bricked over. She follows the hallway to its end at an old door.
Gerrard peers through the cobwebbed arrow slits on the east wall of the main entry, but sees little – some sort of dark, quiet, cobwebbed chamber, but he can make out nothing more.
Qivys hears nothing at the door at the bottom of the stairs.
Qivys finds the door opens easily. Inside is a kitchen, showing signs of recent use and fairly clean. A kettle is suspended above a large fireplace, and a brick oven stands nearby. A cutting block bearing half a loaf of bread stands in the center of the room, next to an empty table. Shelves for holding dishes and utensils line the east wall. The exterior door to the south is barricaded from within the room with wedges and a cauldron full of sand
Peri follows Qivys into the room, pleased to have found the kitchen. He looks at the loaf and, seeing no mold, guesses the bread hasn't been sitting here long. It could've been here since before the attack, but probably would've been taken or thrown on the floor out of spite. He checks the fireplace and the oven for warmth; if they are warm it's a sure sign someone's been cooking in here recently.
"Good news about the rations: we might be able to stock up here."
Coming back out into the main hall open to the area above, Gerrard maintains a relaxed readiness, prepared to run off after any of the searchers in case an alarm is sounded.

“Yes someone has been here recently. And a locked pantry could mean something valuable is behind it,”Boko says, and asks if anyone can deal with the lock. The only option she has is to turn into something strong and break the door down. She hopes the party has a better option. Does she smell anything through the door?
Qivys will respond if Peri starts collecting fire wood.
"What in tha 9 hells do ya think yer gonna do?" he asks in his usual surly tone. "Ya want ta tell all those around, especially tha ones that did this, that they ought ta come back cause there's more killin' ta be done?" Qivys shakes his head. "It's gonna be a cold rest fer tha night lad." he says in a much softer tone. "Any fire will attract unwanted attention to us being here."

Thwack
Content to rummage through what others would call trash, the tiny kobold keeps a slitted eye on Qivys the whole time as promised. When Boko asks if anyone can help with a locked door though...that gives him pause. "Locked door? No door really locked with Thwack." He glances at the dwarf one last time and leaves the side of his charge.
He approaches the door and studies the lock. He pulls a rusty nail and an indescript bone from his pouch. He proceeds to fumble with his tools.

Boko watches the glowing sword and then turns and sneaks around to the open passageway to the west and south.

Qivys watches his companions but says nothing. He moves to the door at the bottom of the stairs, puts his ear to it and listens.

Boko tries the handle to see if it’s jammed or locked or blockaded but does not open it. She returns to the others no matter the result.
Boko finds the door locked (with a key; no evidence of barricading.)
She returns with the update about the locked door and does whatever she can to help with the door Qivys is listening at.
Qivys checks if the door is locked. If not, he will open it.
Boko ducks in and glances around, looking for any sign of recently used food, any stores that might be edible.
Perception: 10
If anyone wants to help, as Boko seems a bit tired…

Qivys moves across the room and listens at the other door.

If he hears nothing he says:
"This should be the pantry fer tha kitchen." he says outloud.
Qivys, if hearing nothing, will open the door.
Peri finds the bread a bit stale, and Boko sees cold-but-unspoiled vegetable soup in the kettle. The fireplace and the oven are cold.
Qivys hears nothing at the other door, but the door is locked.

The only option she has is to turn into something strong and break the door down. She hopes the party has a better option. Does she smell anything through the door?
Boko smells nothing through the western door of the kitchen. Just a hint of the vegetable soup from the room she is standing in.
Peri:
Peri looks for some fuel for the fireplace. No sense eatin' cold rations and lettin' perfectly good soup go to waste.
Qivys will respond if Peri starts collecting fire wood.
