Realizing that the frenzied monkey demons will eventually escape and harm the people, Gerrard draws his dagger and wills it into flame. He grabs the head of one of the tied up demons and pulls it back, then dispatches the creature with a slash to the throat (crit damage is 2d4+4d6+5 if needed).

Thwack waits for a few moments to see if Peri has a plan to capture maybe-Kei. When no reply comes and their target begins to move on Thwack decides to act. "I gonna distract 'im then you grab him" he directs Peri with mental instructions. Walking slightly quicker than the crowd and nimbly dodging through and under the legs of the taller folk he positions himself in front of maybe-Kei. He doubles over just as the man approaches. "Snaaarf. You help me? I eat something bad" he groans loudly at the man's kneecaps. On cue he manages to regurgitate some bile and spittle directly on his shoes. "Sorry 'bout that. Me clean for you". Still groaning, Thwack proceeds to wipe off the excrement using his tail as a cloth. He continues to mumble apologies as he cleans.
Qivys dispatches the mad cultist and returns to the street. Boko pauses to ponder the now-dead man, but can find no obvious visual threads connecting him to the Lantern Ghost victims.
Gerrard, meanwhile, manages to slay the two bound demon monkeys without getting bitten.
Thwack vomits on False-Kei's shoes before trying to clean it off. False-Kei tries to kick him out of the way with a half-hearted swing of his boot. "Get off my feet, you filthy sewer rat," he snarls. "Disgusting." He scrapes his boot against the cobbles, trying to dislodge the remainder of it.
The spectacle over, the pedestrian crowds begin to move along, including False-Kei and his companion, who are headed north into the heart of the Alchemist's Quarter. Irritated and agitated at Thwack's antics, False-Kei growls and picks up his pace upon dirtied shoes, clearly in a foul mood.
The building is completely abandoned now, with a basement full of dead and ground-level chambers packed with old and well-used alchemical laboratory equipment. The corpses of the demon baboons begin to bubble and dissolve.
It is mid-afternoon, and the thick, humid air stinks of industrial chemicals mixed with the unnerving odor of the rapidly-decaying fiends.
"Snarf, he's leaving!" Thwack states the obvious as false-Kei begins to move on. "Ima follow him. If you want me to stab him you tell me OK?" Hoping Peri heard his psychic chat he chases after the pink haired man. "Sorry Mister. I gonna do something to make better, OK? I help you make up for mess." He trots at false-Kei's heels as he prattles on nonsensically. He winds in and out between the footfalls of Kei and his companions trying his best to slow them down.

Qivys tries to sort out where the last demon baboon may have escaped to. On the other side of this row of buildings, there is a utilitarian boardwalk along the harborfront which is punctuated by wharves and small vessels and freight operations. Thwack and Peri have already seen a bit of it. As far as Qivys can tell, the baboon probably tried to make a dive for the water from the roof, although it'd be quite a leap, ...and the water around here, of course, holds its own unpleasant surprises.
Boko, looking for militia or guards, finds none. Or at least none among the living, as quite a few just met their end rather violently in that cellar. Unlike the High Quarter, this neighborhood seems to lack much in the way of street patrols. Nobody seems to be coming anytime soon.
False Kei becomes more perturbed by Thwack's antics. He twitches and flinches under his thick, cracked makeup. Finally, he aims a sharp kick at Thwack's face. Unarmed strike vs. Thwack: 10 Hit: 1 bludgeoning damage "Get out of the way, you filthy roach!"

Gerrard:
Looking towards the docks, Gerrard tries to discern if Thornwell's fleet has left yet. He was hoping to head out to the wreck and help with the diving if possible while the others did more of the sneaking and skulldugging.

”Most likely,” agrees Gerrard. “What next?” he asks his companions—those who are nearby anyway—“I was planning to sail to the wreck of the Tammaraut with Thornwell’s ships, but I can’t tell if they are still at the dock…”

"Yip!" Thwack squeals as the vomit stained boot of maybe-Kei connects with his jaw. "Gueth I detherved that" the impact seemingly causing a lisp. Shaking the pain off he continues to harass maybe-Kei, albeit from one step further away. "I'll just wait till you take you boots off to clean proper." He sends a mental message to Peri updating him of the direction they ate travelling.
Gerrard peers down the narrow alley at the inner harbor beyond. Although he can only see a sliver of these waters, he recalls seeing few in the way of deep-water vessels in this end of the harbor.
Thwack (and Peri?) begin to follow the crowds north along the narrow, cobbled street into the heart of the Alchemists' Quarter. False-Kei and his dour buddy - a heavyset middle-aged brute of a man - soon turn right into a maze of narrow alleys, where the crowds are thinner. Ignoring Thwack, False-Kei mutters "When we get on site, you take north and I'll take south." Thwack and Peri will soon be out of sight of Gerrard, Boko, and Qivys.
"This town does not care when demon monkeys appear and kill a whole troop of guards?"Boko says, still trying to get a handle on what just happened. "Where are the other two?"she says, looking for Thwack and Peri.
“And they would have killed many more if not for us stopping them,” adds Gerrard, though he is clearly distraught that this loss of life seems to have gone unheeded.
”I expect Thornwell’s ships have already left. Perhaps we should follow Masters Fenwader and Thwack from a distance so we can help if—I mean when—they get themselves in trouble,” suggests Gerrard.
The young noble is moving a bit stiffly, as he has not taken the time yet to bind his wounds from the demon baboons.
At a distance (currently about 40 feet), Qivys, Gerrard, and Boko begin to follow Peri and Thwack and the odd duo into the maze of narrow, irregular, filthy, and often pitched and partially-sunken alleys. Locals peer out of odd-shaped windows. A pipe sprays gray, pungent-smelling mist. You pass a one-legged man stringing wire and a child begging for coppers from a small wooden cart. False-Kei and his partner are too annoyed by Thwack and intent on their current business to notice the three of you following.
Thwack's large ears pick up maybe-Kei's mumbles clearly. On site. Sounds like they mean to cause trouble. He commits the words to his memory. With this knowledge of their plan, Thwack scans back down the street trying to spot his three friends hoping to catch sight and let them know of the goings-on. If he can't see any of the three he will communicate with Peri and let him know. "They headed to a place and then going to split up. We follow keys, yes?"
((If he can see Gerrard, Qivys or Boko he will spend a Psi die and establish a Psychic Whispers link with as many of them as he can see plus Peri, assuming Peri is still with him. If Peri is out of view he wont sever that link and will forgoe the link with the others))

Boko asks (psychically if she is connected, and whispered if not) "do we think that is really Kei?"
