Harmony got the crab, restraining it before it had given up, looking up at her apologetically. "Aw! It's okay. Just listen to me, alright?" she said back with a smile, feeling bad now. Then she hears Abraxas, nodding and thinking. "That sounds good, but this only lasts for an hour and once it ends, it'll know that I charmed it. So we would need to hurry." she whispered back to him.
"So this is the source of our troubles," the elder sighs, looking upon the corpses. "Brachari...it seems so obvious in hindsight, but I haven't seen one this close to the surface in years. Always pests, and they never travel alone, as you can see."
The remaining Brachari struggles halfheartedly against Harmony's grip, foaming at the mouth as it makes a show of trying to launch itself at the elder.
Hearing the way the elder calls the Brachari a pest, Garu frowns a bit. "The light bringer teaches us to be compassionate and just to all. Please explain why they have remained so far from the surface."

The elder matches Garu's frown with one of his own, his eyes glancing into the distance. "They are demons, priestess of Tylyn. They may appear to be a hapless animal, but I assure you within that frame, your friend clings to a deceiving, murdering trickster. They use their magic to blind and lull their victims to sleep before gutting and devouring them," he says grimly.
Harmony is still holding onto the Brachari, feeling it struggle and want to go for the elder. "No! Bad! We'll let you go home soon." she tells it, hearing the elder call it a pest. Then the elder explained why he did, shocked and disgusted to hear what they do to victims. "Has anything changed recently to make these Brachari want to come up to the surface? Do they normally leave you guys alone up until now? Are there other kinds of creatures that live so far down in the water along with the Brachari or that would command these Brachari?" Harmony would then ask the elder as well.
Abraxas folds his arms. He waits to hear what the elder has to say, but he also consults his memory. Perhaps there are similar creatures from his home world? Maybe their behavior can suggest how he and his friends can change what the Brachari do?
"It is possible that something was driving them to do this, but they may have been doing it of their own volition," the elder answers. "Either way, it is something we must investigate. I certainly hope that our nets will be troubled no further now."
He looks to Harmony with friendly understanding. "I know that you have the Brachari under your influence, but you must end it before it comes to its senses, I beg of you. If you let it go, it will come back to do more harm. Look at it," he says, and truly, the Brachari's rage has been building toward everyone gathered around, except for Harmony.
For Abraxas:
If the Brachari really is a demon as the elder says, and if demons here on Rikirta share the same origins as those on Toril, then it is a creature of chaos and evil.
Harmony had heard the elder, nodding and glad that they were able to help. Then he talked about how she has to end the spell before this Brachari comes to its sense and how if they let it go, it will come back to do more harm. She looked at it, seeing that it was building up rage at everyone here but her, sighing. She will then try to quickly kill it or hurt it while still holding onto it since it's most definitely going to want to kill her due to having been charmed by her.
Action: If the Brachari has a neck, she would snap it but if not, then she would just do an unarmed strike on the Brachari while still holding onto it.
"I can try, Garu. I fear, however, that its only interest is the random harm of others" Abraxas will scrutinize the demon crab, searching for arcane influence: 9.
To the elder, he says, "Do you need our help with your investigations? How do you suggest they be accomplished? We could wait another night and see if the nets are cut again." He looks to Mro Jus Bur, seeking their opinion as well.
Harmony suddenly strikes at the Brachari, trying to slam into its neck, but its hard chitinous body hurts her hand more than she hurts it. Shaking its head wildly, it snaps out of its temporary charm.

The Brachari twists hard, wrenching itself out of Harmony's grip. Before it has even taken a step against the bard, however, it is hammered by a barrage of glowing darts accompanied by the sound of a flute. The creature falls to the ground from the pummeling, lifting its head weakly before Mro Jus Bur places his rapier through its skull.
"There," Mro Jus Bur comments, cleaning his blade. Mro Jus Bir tucks his flute onto his belt and shrugs.
As the figurative dust settles, the elder answers, "We asked the Order of Skogyr for assistance in learning who was cutting our nets. You are welcome to stay and investigate further with us, but I would be remiss to ask for anything more. Your payment has already been well earned, my friends. Of course, you may stay in the guest house for another few nights if you wish to watch the nets again with us."
When Abraxas looks to Mro Jus Bur, the Kitsune looks to Mro Jus Bir, who shrugs again, scribbling into his journal. "I go where you go until we reach Turmaether," he offers.
For Abraxas:
You are unable to tell at a glance whether any magic is/was affecting the Brachari.
Harmony did not realize that the crab was so hard as the punch hurt her hand. But because she was distracted, it had gotten out of her grip, ready to fight when it was suddenly defeated. She realized that it was Bir and Bur who had done that, very relieved. "Thank you for saving me." she said back to them with a smile and a bow. Then she had heard the elder, glad that they could help but thought about how normally the crabs don't come up, wondering why they are now. "It still feels like something is making these crabs now come up here and cut the nets. We could always try to swim down to where they live, see what else is down there and perhaps why this is happening." Harmony would say to everyone, looking down at the water.
Abraxas sighs. "Water, water. You terrible thing." But he shrugs. "If we must, we must." He looks toward the elder. "Do you have or know where or how we could find magic that will help us under the water? It seems we will have to try and go into the water to discover why the crabs are cutting your nets. Unless you know of another, drier, approach?" He looks hopefully at the elder.
The Wysto elder smiles, placing a hand on Abraxas's shoulder. "Believe me when I say that I am tremendously grateful that you are so willing to assist us further. You are more equipped and more tempered than any from the order that we have worked with before. But, I believe that we are better suited to investigate underwater. You have helped us learn the cause, and now that we know what we are dealing with we can try to establish a more secure perimeter around our home," he says.
"At any rate, come with me, please. If you will wait in the guesthouse for a moment, I will gather your reward. If you wish to stay here, you may for as long as you please. In fact, I think it would indeed be a good idea for you to stay for a few more nights and stand guard with us. Perhaps then we will see the severity of this incursion."
Abraxas heads to the guesthouse, curious about the reward and eager to rest. "Tomorrow," he says, "we can return to that man who abuses his books and to exploring Turmaether." Assuming it's okay, he will take a long rest.
"Well thought", Garu replies.
