Halfin grits his teeth and checks his swing but almost immediately makes a clumsy swing with his other hand. 14 the blow goes wide however and Con is up again.
Mendax stops looking out the window for Con and then turns back to Graddik. He tosses his towel over his shoulder and then looks at Graddik square in the eyes and asks, "so, how'd you get bolted like a pig, Graddik? Who has it out for you?"

Halfin staggers back, blood flowing freely from a possibly broken nose. He grits his teeth, eyes flashing in anger as he swings wildly Attack: 11 Damage: 2 the blow bounces harmlessly off your shoulder and Con is up again.
Graddik’s eyes snap open and then narrow as he looks at the dwarf, after a moment his eyes lose a bit of focus and he smiles. Who knows, Mendy, when you’re the top dog all the curs want to take a bite. Some coward who fears to face me man to man, ay Balrich? Graddik’s man snaps back to attention and stammers out Uh, yessir, cowards for sure. He stops there, unsure what else to say before getting lost looking around the office, clearly out of his element.

Halfin, even dazed as he is, manages to ward off your blow. and retaliates with another wild haymaker Attack: 5 Damage: 2 but once again his lack of discipline combined with doing most of his fighting with weaker and disadvantaged opponents is his undoing
In the laboratory Torbin considers Kes’ words carefully. Rachael, yes, I remember her of course. A promising student, talented if a bit flighty. Her boyfriend you say? Gambling? Kidnapped and held ransom? Torbin trails off again in thought. Kestrell please give me a persuasion check.
"Right! Yes, he's a real piece of work, I don't know what she sees in him."
Torbin considers your words carefully. After a moment he sighs. Perhaps it's better I don't know more details... I know you to be a good student and more importantly a good lad, Kestrell, I trust that you will do what is right. Gods know the criminal element in this city is running rampant and hurting our very way of life. Taking innocents captive... he shakes his head and gathers the ingredients from the list and puts them in vials and packages accordingly and then puts them all in a small satchel. Be careful, Kes, these people are dangerous. And listen, I'll help you this time as it seems time is of the essence and the girl is in danger, but please don't involve me in these things in the future.
As soon as the commotion began, Vin slid into the corner of the office, trying to stay in the shadows and out of the way. She stays there, listening and observing, occasionally stepping forth to pass Mendax bandages and stitching as he works on Graddik, and helping to hold the enforcer boss down when Mendax removes the bolt. As the excitement in the room dies down after the successful surgery, she busies herself with filling a pitcher of water from the well and pouring a cup for all present, passing them out before slipping back into the corner without a word. She continues eyeing Graddik's enforcers, particularly keen on ensuring they keep their hands to themselves in this office laden with medical instruments, herbs, and potions.
As Mendax peers out the window, she tries to catch his eye, cocking her head to the side with a quizzical look as she does, as if to wordlessly ask; "are you worried about Con?"
Graddik's man Balrich eyes Vin over the rim of his cup as he drinks his water. He looks over at Graddik who is now snoring lightly in a medically induced stupor and a grotesque smile spreads slowly across his face Here now, what's a pretty little thing like you doing in a place like this with only boys and dwarves to keep you company? Why don't we get off to somewhere and I can show you what having a man around is like? He sets the cup down on the table and crosses over to you.
Be careful, Kes, these people are dangerous. And listen, I'll help you this time as it seems time is of the essence and the girl is in danger, but please don't involve me in these things in the future.
Con punches the man in the jaw, and immediately follows up with his off-hand to the cheek, knocking him flying; he lands on his back, arms and legs spread out, clonking his head on the dirt and falling unconscious.
Con grins, enjoying the moment, then walks over to Halfin, crouches down and spits on the ground. He wipes the blood off his hands with a piece of Halfin's shirt or cloak, and then picks the body up and carries him off to the side, somewhere nice and dark where they won't be disturbed.
He sets to work tying the man up, using his rope, making sure the arms and legs are tightly bound together and the two bonds are joined behind his back, so he would have trouble doing anything except maybe rolling. He checks that Halfin is still unconscious, and then, without thinking, reaches into his armour to pull out a dagger, and brings it to Halfin's throat to slit it. But then he pauses, and sighs. It's your lucky day, Halfie-boy,he whispers. See, there's these people that I'm hanging out with, and they would not approve. So I guess I'm gonna leave you for the guard to find. Or Graddik's men. He gives a short laugh as he puts his dagger away. Nah, not that, not tomorrow. It's a new day, Halfie-boy. He tears off a strip of Halfin's clothing and makes a nice gag, and then leaves him face down in the dirt.
Brushing himself down so that it doesn't look like he's been in a street fight, he heads to where he believes Lors is, the Broken Flagon.
Kes, Torbin nods and gives you a sad smile and you come out of your memory and into the present back at Mendax's rooms.
Con, as you walk out of the alley in which you've stashed Halfin you see a pair of street urchins eying you with grudging respect. The older looking one who seems to be in the throws of a savage growth spurt with a shock of unruly straw colored hair and a pair of mismatched eyes says Well, he started it, didn't he? he looks at Halfin's bound form, spits on the ground, gives you a little wave and he and his little friend head off down a narrow alley, should you look after them you'd see that they had disappeared, no doubt down a shortcut known only to urchins and other such streetrats.
Con, you arrive at the Broken Flagon a squat building that looks more or less structurally sound and while not the finest looking structure, it's clearly cared for and as well maintained as can be. A bored looking tough sits on a stool beside the door whittling away on a small piece of wood with a dagger clearly not crafted for whittling, well, not for whittling wood anyway. He looks up as you approach and narrows his eyes slightly in appraisal before going back to his woodwork. Through the window next to him you see Lors sitting at a table with a couple other of Graddik's men you recognize from the night of your beating. Lors appears to be telling a joke, his long, slicked back, blonde hair brushes against the collar of his fastidiously maintained shirt as he acts out the punchline and the men sitting with him laugh sycophantically.
((anyone can feel free to post what they would like to do, I'll keep track of the continuity and whatnot.))

If Halfin tries to push past, Con will just keep getting in his way, trying to get him angry.

Con isn't smart talking any more. He's angry, and this scumbag works for the guy who almost killed him. He's trying to do non-lethal damage though.
