"oh my, Horark. Good kill. But this is most alarming..." Free pauses for a what seems like an eternity. "YOU CAN'T COOK!? Oh dear, Bahamut will not look proudly on this moment. To be closer to the platinum dragon does not mean to be barbarians. We should only eat the finest meats, seasoned with the finest herbs and spices, and cooked in the proper way." He shakes his head in disappointment. "Fear not though, young ward. We will rectify this immediately. Next chance we get we will buy spice and herb and see about getting you some wilderness cooking lessons."

"Yes, I agree. My ward can't learn to cook if there is no one here we may as well sleep in the woods. However, what if there spices in there? Maybe we come back in the morning? I suppose...aside from fine herbs and silks... If I were some dwarf on the lamb I might take up sanctuary in a spooky abandoned town. But I do think its important we look for a professional chef here. He would probably be sleeping now."

"Would someone like to venture with me to investigate the temple? It appears to may be mostly intact and might be the most secure spot for us to rest."
"I suggest we stay together." Leshanna says. "If something is going on here, it might be best to be together than seperated... I can go with you to the temple as well." She glances to the others. "It would probably be best to know what is going on than to be surprised as we camp."
The village seems to be normal, that is, if abandoned and completely quiet is normal. As the group approaches the modest temple, the feeling of unease fades away, leaving the feeling of safety.
The inside of the temple is stripped and spotless as if recently cleaned. No signs of anything living show. (If you want, someone can roll Religion to see who the temple belongs to.) Though hard to see in the semi-darkness, a large stone statue dominates the center of the temple, although the face has been horribly disfigured by some sort of weapon.

Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think; and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.

Jasper will look towards Aeson. “While I do agree with sticking together I would be more than willing to assist you, investigation is a speciality of mine.”
and will also make a perception check regarding the village retroactively if you'll allow that as well as an investigation for the temple.
The village seems to be safe for the moment, but whatever happened here, has scarred the land. Nothing living grows anywhere within the town except a few weeds. (Look at my last post for the temple.)

(Sorry, didn't see that.) This temple belongs to Bahamut of all gods. Whether by mere coincidence or by his divine hand, the group had stumbled across a temple belonging to him. The statue has the following words engraved on it: "All who follow me shall be safe in my temple."

Oh no, oh no..... oh no. Look at what they done here.”. Horark begins to frantically pray to Bahamut while scurrying around looking for any sort of clue what happened.
Thankful to have the possibility of a safe night's rest, Aeson addresses Free and Horark. "It seems my God is guiding me towards yours, you must tell me about him when we have a chance."
b"Anyone know whose temple this is?" Leshanna asks as she looks around the place. She has Hoot land on the roof, to keep a lookout on the village around the place.
Knowing who is in my party I would like to take a closer look at the face of the statue and see if there is anything I can do to clean it up. "Well I doubt there is any better place to stay the night than inside here. I can also create a place for us to rest that can offer us protection in the night. It can not offer protection for the horses but if Free and Horak allow it, we can bring them inside and place them behind our bubble and I will try and position the dome to cut off access from the door. Might at least offer them some safety."

"Let's find a camp somewhere on the outskirts of this abandoned village, something is not quite right here." Raishan whispers to the group.

At Free’s response Horark looks confused with a tilted head. “I polish armor an I write in books..... no cook.” As he begins to chew on goat hoof.
Horark steps forward leaving the goat behind for the others to figure out what to do with. “I will follow, Horark good at not being seen.”
"I suggest we stay together." Leshanna says. "If something is going on here, it might be best to be together than seperated... I can go with you to the temple as well." She glances to the others. "It would probably be best to know what is going on than to be surprised as we camp."
"Don't worry tiny dragon, we will teach you to cook. Good good. We're off to the temple then!" Free gets back on his Warhorse and trots.
