Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
"May I see that?" Lia asks, nodding to the black diamond. Does it appear to be similar to her crystal?
You examine the black diamond for a moment, but nothing seems to happen to the one you are wearing. As you’re filled with doubt, the crystal around your neck begins to vibrate just enough for you to feel it. You hear the voice in your head.
“Good girl. I’ll tell you where the next piece is once I locate it. You get all of them for me, and I can use my full power to gift you more than your mortal mind could possibly imagine. This will have to do for now.”
Wherever it is, on her back or in her hands, Lia’s heavy crossbow bursts into flames. She quickly drops it to the ground and backs away as a reflex. The black fire somehow burns even the sand, turning a 5ft radius around the crossbow into completely blackened grains. During the first 30 seconds it burns, the wood gets darker and more charred, the string pops out of place, and the metal frames begin melting. 45 seconds into the black bonfire, there is nothing left of the crossbow but ash. The fire continues to burn until the minute is up, and at that point, even the ash has burned away and disintegrated. When the black fire finally dies down, Lia hears the voice again.
“Rise anew, little girl. Your work is not yet over. There is much chaos to sow in the world, and I will guide you. Now, I will slumber until the next piece comes to me.” As it finishes the last sentence, you hear the disembodied voice actually fade away, leaving your thoughts.
There is absolutely nothing to show for Lia’s crossbow burning up, aside from the circle of pitch-black sand.
"That was surprising..." Lia says, stowing away the diamond. She concentrates and attempts to summon forth a new crossbow, just to make sure she still can do so.
A new heavy crossbow appears in Lia’s hands. It’s made of a sleek black wood, the string looks much thinner, and the shine of the metal frame makes you feel like the crossbow can never rust or deteriorate with age. When it pops into existence, you feel like your hands are burning. After a moment, the majority of the heat subsides, but you can still feel warmth radiating off of it. You shake the crossbow for a second and realize that it is just slightly heavier than your previous one. As you inspect it further, you notice a black leather box compartment on the bottom. It appears to be the perfect size to hold crossbow bolts.
Lia has leveled up at this point.
The others characters will have their moment pretty soon, so please just hold on. Thank you.
You have about 4 minutes left until the scholars close the teleportation circle (and that’s if they don’t hear from you; if you return, the circle will remain open)
Helena calls out to Kronk. "Kronk, can you pick up Harq's body and bring him with us? Better yet, can someone heal him?" Regardless of the answer, Helena will head back to the teleportation portal to, at the very least, inform the wizards that the orcs have been dealt with and to keep the portal open for a little longer if necessary.
Brodan is going to go through the portal, shrugging helplessly about the suggestion to heal Harq. "Sorry but that ain't the kind of magic I use. I can blow thing apart but healin is best left to a cleric or a potion."

Kronk
You search the orcs’ bodies for anything of value. You find a platinum piece and 6 gold. You also find an interesting little black diamond.
Helena waits, slightly impatiently, as the party goes searches through the bodies.

Also, Harq is still unconscious.

No. It’s still there and it’s still pretty. Lia’s crystal basically just synced with it. The patron’s power in the two crystals connected.
Lia put it away though.
So what will the party do?
You have about 4 minutes left until the scholars close the teleportation circle (and that’s if they don’t hear from you; if you return, the circle will remain open)
“Wes goin’ bested, lest behind us’s left,” Kronk says as he waves everyone onward to the circle.

Helena
You leave the group to go ahead and tell the scholars that the orc invasion has been repelled. On your way to the portal, something happens.
((Helena will have a short scene in PM to keep this thread flowing.))
Kronk will gently pick up Harq and bring him along.

Is everyone but Helena following Kronk?
Brodan is going to go through the portal, shrugging helplessly about the suggestion to heal Harq. "Sorry but that ain't the kind of magic I use. I can blow thing apart but healin is best left to a cleric or a potion."
Lia’s on the roof of a building. What will she do?
Lia is not on a roof of a building, she got down to check the bodies remember. she will follow the others.
Right, sorry.
Alright. As Kronk picks up Harq, you all hear something. Everyone, except Helena and Harq, make a perception check.

You hear Helena shout out something along the lines of “Go ahead! I’ll just be a minute!”
