As the group all gathers Harq had been spending the time practicing shuffling a deck of cards, attempting to learn some tricky shuffles ((sleight of hand: 27)). Once it appears no one else is coming he says to the group "Y'all're from the bar yeah? That was an interesting way to start the day." He continues, pointing behind him "The ship is right back there. I hear the crew are a bunch of shit bag pirates. Should be some fun guys." finishing up with a grin; honestly excited to get back on a boat, and to meet the crew.
"By the way, we never were properly introduced. I am Harq al-Ada." with a small bow and a flourish
"Helena Cain." Helena doesn't look at Harq as she answers, but looks around for Lia and Skarhys with a frown."The other half elf girl and kenku have yet to arrive. Would've expected the employer to be here before the employees."
Skarhys arrives at the docks. You see his black figure and cloak moving towards you all. Lia is still hidden. “My apologies for being late. Had to run from some gang leader from up north. That old halfling was much faster than I expected.” You can all hear him breathing hard. “Any way, shall we move—where’s Lia.. uhh... the girl with the white hair?” He doesn’t really stutter, but he realizes you probably don’t know her name.
Kronk regards everyone a bit dubiously and says, "Kronk." Then, with a humumgous and fierce grin, continues, "Fight funnly was, to bad no face time to bite, arh, arh, arh!"

"I am here." Lia says, seeming to emerge from a shadow itself. "Been here a while..." She explains. "Come and look at these strange symbols I found..." She shows them the symbols.
Brodan looks the rest of them over, his arms crossed as he seemingly looks annoyed that they are stuck waiting for the kenku that had wanted to hire them. "Call me Brodan."

Helena traces the symbols with her hand slowly, reading them out loud. "I warned you... they are dangerous... That's what it says. I wonder what that's supposed to mean."
"It's likely about the crew. As I said, I heard they were a, uh, rough, group."Harq says, turning to the kenku saying "So friend, what say you of this? We're here to help your employer find a gem of some kind, with a reward of 'things'..." he says waving his hand around vaguely, continuing "..and are now finding warnings that even boarding this ship may be against our best interests."
"Squigglelys just are to Kronk. Mumblellies not talked, nasty stuff." Kronk growls. "Hate dead fixers. Deaders they be." He whacks the dock rather firmly with his maul. "Eats me livers them!" He snarls.
"Go seaing now, windwater waves us going."
Translation: Writing, symbols (especially magic ‘mumbling’) are utterly impenetrable to Kronk; he can’t read. He loathes and hates necromancers, ‘dead fixers’. When he destroys one, he’ll eat their livers.
Time to go to sea, get the show on the boat, as it were.
Skarhys nods, clearly not paying much attention to the warning. He moves towards the spot where the Sea Lady is docked. You see a middle-aged man working on something by the ship. You see this man has an eyepatch on his right eye, and he’s dressed like a pirate. The man’s style is almost exactly like Harq’s, which has slightly changed during his time away from the seas. “Skarhys? Welcome back, old friend!” He shakes Skarhys’s hand, who responds with his usual variety of voices. “Arom. Good to see you, too.” The man you now know as Arom looks to all of you. “What’s this welcoming party you brought with ya?” Skarhys looks over his shoulder. “I needed help getting something back.” Arom nods. “The capt’n will be glad to see ya.” Skarhys’s beak seems to form into a smile. “How has she been doing?” Arom turns around. “Ask ’er yerself.” He raises an open hand, pointing at the deck of the ship. You all see a figure resembling a woman watching over you all. Arom moves out of the way of the ship’s lower-deck entrance.
Brodan will move closer to see the captain of the ship, raising a fuzzy brow as he tries to catch a glimpse of the woman. "I hope I won't be gettin seasick..." The dwarf mutters to himself as he makes his way over to the ship slowly, letting others pass him if they wish to.
Harq walks onto the ship as if walking into his own home. Taking a deep breath, and feeling the slight rock of the boat, even docked, feels natural again. He walks up to the captain saying "Cap'n"with a tip of his hat and a slight bow, continuing "Name's Harq. Served with Captain Leto aboard the Caladan. It's good to be back at sea. Thanks for letting us aboard."He then pulls one of the bottles of booze he'd gotten from the bar our and hands it to her adding "I'd love to have a drink with you later if ya would. Or just enjoy it for yourself."

Skarhys is there. Look at post 143
Lia, you’re showing the symbols you found to the party?
that's what I said in the above...
Everyone looks at the symbols carved into the wood.
Lia, Kronk, Brodan:
You study the carved symbols. You all think it might be some kind of ancient language.
Harq and Helena:
When you check out the symbols, you realize you understand them. The symbols are in Thieves Cant, and they read “I warned you. They are dangerous.”
"Are they some strange language or what?" lia asks the others as she looks the symbols over again. "I can't make heads or tails of them."
(My bad I missed it.)
When he can't understand it, Brodan shrugs and steps away to look towards the kenku for more information about the job.
Helena traces the symbols with her hand slowly, reading them out loud. "I warned you... they are dangerous... That's what it says. I wonder what that's supposed to mean."
