OOC > The Rogue is really performing today! Two 10s. Oy.
Thistle will test the ground in front of her, senses alert. If she finds nothing she will peek around the corner of the entryway into the room, looking first left then right. She is expecting the room to look like this, where P is the Party, but she wants to find out before she steps in...

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Zashier got this real pensive look on his face upon mention of a nursery. It is gone in the next moment, hidden once more behind a veneer of calm and carefree-ness. "When in doubt, only go right. Least that's what me Pa used to say, clever chap that he is, and it never let him down.... Except the one time with the trench, but those are always letting you down." He whispered to others upon at least get a glimpse of the branching path ahead.
Peeking around the corner, Thistle you see that your initial thoughts were correct. The chamber ends on either side, and begins to turn a corner, with a central wall in front of you.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lem tries his best to relay what Thistle sees. in the center is a walled center area, with 4 kobolds in it.
Off to the right (East) are 2 kobolds that seem like they are of a higher echelon than the kobolds you have experience before. A few more muscles, some leather pieces they were using as armor.
On the far side of the room from where you are are another two of the more important kobolds (or swolbolds) as well as a fancier kobold wearing a cloak and hood.
As they see moon swooping in and about the room, the hooded kobold lets loose a bolt of flame at Moon (6), but Moon dips her wing in midair, dropping suddenly, then catching herself with a pocket of air created by a wave of her wings swoops back to Lem.
Initiative time is impending. Message on discord. taking a vote to try concurrent initiative again, or go back to standard initiative.
Thistle looks back at the crew, keeping out of sight of the kobolds. "None of them are on the main floor, it's likely trapped. Can we just shoot them from here? Do we want to parlay?"

Yokini looks disappointed at the description of the room. "I ... I hate to suggest this." She looks at Lem, her reddening eyes pleading. "I just wanna get my mother and sister back," she explains in almost a whine. "What ... what if we knock out the nursery guard and each take a couple eggs hostage each. They'd have to let us by, right? They wouldn't fight us if it meant breaking eggs, right?"
Zashier just slowly shakes his head. "I'm all for being good and neighborly, as you've all seen. And I've tried thrice now, on account of the circumstances being so unique. But, if the idea is to to threaten the eggs, to which I believe I may or may not would have to be opposed, ain't no parleying with these folk. Sorry, Miss Yokini."He admitted in a whisper, looking to the ground near the end and licks his lips nervously.
"We'z invaders, and that's all that matter to'em, not counting the lil' ones as previous mentioned. As fer your idea of a ranged battle, me and Mister Raddunth, for all our many strengths, ranged combat isn't one of them. Thus, we are regrettable, or should I say, we would even be more at a severe disadvantage. So unless you have way of checking where to step, we best simply have lions properly girded for what will... actually, hang on a sec. Any of you got a decent sized sack on ya?"
Raddunth glances inside his fur shorts, but then realizes Zashier was not using a euphemism for "sack".
Raddunth was ready to race across the floor to attack, but Thistle's warning is making him unsure of what to do. (He will wait for the others to make a plan.)

Lem begins speaking very quietly to the people around him.
"I can try to make them go to sleep, without even seeing them directly. Although they look stronger and they might not fall for it like the others. I can also make a cloud of fog appear in there so they can't see us unless they come through. They know we're here. What do you think? Someone give the order and I'll do it."
He calms Moon, chittering and gently petting her head trying to talk to her after her near-miss with the fire.
Thistle you dont see any traps on the floor. You do notice that it is slightly slanted...higher on your right, lower on your left...
and my description of the room was lacking in detail....the image in the media channel is a little better, but without any indication of height.
The walled in area in front of you is 10 feet tall, wide enough to stand on, and the areas around the room where the kobolds are standing are also 10 feet up, with stairs leading up to them.
There are 4 regular kobolds, 4 kobolds that are "tougher", and one hooded magical kobold.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thistle considers, looking at her companions, who despite having served together seem pretty dysfunctional as a group. And then there's Raddunth. ;)
"There's something fishy about this room, but I don't know what it is. Ground slopes down to the left, maybe they flood it or something? The grates in the floor would suggest that. I don't see any traps right around us. They outnumber us by a lot." She peeks around the corner again.
"I don't know if they've seen us, but they sure saw Moon. I could try to pick one off from here... and see what happens? Then we rush them and try to get to higher ground? If we keep this door open, and they flood the room, they risk flooding their hatchery..."
Feeling a lack of leadership among the crew, Thistle pulls out an arrow and exposes herself around the corner without stepping into the room, drawing and shooting at the northernmost kobold on the easternmost platform area.
Spoilered in case someone tries to stop her (so as not to influence that decision with a good or bad roll)
Bonus Action: Insightful Fighting Insight check of 7 vs kobold Charisma(Deception) check. Action: Shoot short bow at kobold, 14 to hit, for 5 piercing damage If Surprise, then a second d20 for Advantage: 6 If Surprise or Insightful Fighting, some additional Sneak Attack damage: 11

Lets consider this the jumping off point. Thistle has started round 1. Concurrent initiative - everyone post what you want to do in these crucial 6 seconds!
Lem casts sleep centered just on the north wall of that central wing, trying to get the group in the middle first, and then the stronger-looking ones to the north if possible. 25 worth of hp in ascending order...
He stays where he is, after considering having Moon scout more, and thinking better of it.
Despite detailing the plan, Zashier was still left scratching at his head and pondering it. Once Lem at least cast his spell, the elephantine headed farmer at least readied himself to race in the room if... he wasn't even sure, but would loosely follow at least Thistle's lead or signal to charge.

As you open the door, it creaks loudly, probably from being a wooden door underground - the elements havent been kind.
You cant see anything moving...
In front of you, the room goes left and right, split by a 10 foot high wall in front of you.
