The spider does not conceal its movements from you, and you are able to find the chink it its (hide) armor, so to speak. You can use your sneak attack for the next "minute" - basically until combat is over.
Thistle, perhaps because you took a moment to examine your target, it give the spider enough time to pull itself back up its thread a little bit as you swing at where the spider was, but is no longer! It is still within your reach for another attack, it just used its web to get out of the way of your saber.
Yashiera was observing the other side of the door, checking for traps, when she heard "whiff" of your saber slashing through the air. She turns, and sees the spider hanging upside down on its web. She steps up next to you and swings her morningstar at the spider (21) and you hear a sickening crunch as the morningstar hits the spider in one of its multiple eyes for 4 damage.
The spider is feelling the hit. It cuts its web and drops to the floor, lands, and moves toward Yashier to take a bite (22). Thistle, you see the sharp teeth of the spider sink in to Yashiera's arm, and you also see a green ooze-like substance that starts to seep out of the wound. Yashiera takes 6 damage, and (can she save: con save 11) only takes 7 poison damage.
(almost forgot, Yashiera gets two attacks. She is pretty dope. 11 - oof, she tries to swing the morningstar again, but misses the second swing.)
Thistle, you are up. The spider just took a chunk out of Yashiera.
Lem scoots out of the room in a crouch, backwards, saying one long word: "nopenopenopenopenopenopenopenope!"and the mage hand flips the bird to the room.
He's shaking, and presses his eyes shut very tight, placing the palms of both hands against them. He shakes his head once, becomes still, and opens his eyes, with a serene look on his face.
"Trap door in the middle, right there. I'm not going in unless you need me to. I'm good out here."He tries to cast minor illusion to make a 5-foot diameter dome over where he saw what he saw. He'll cast it again and again and again.
Thistle spins to the other side of the spider, hoping to offer some sort of flanking for Yashiera, and attacks again, having discerned some weak points.
Action: attack with saber, with Insightful Fighting sneak damage. 15 to hit, for 19 slashing damage.
Bonus Action: Eye for Detail to make a Perception check (as a Bonus Action) to the ceiling for more spiders: 14
OOC > Can't remember if you like/use flanking rules, but it makes sense narratively even if you don't. :)

Zashier lets out a "Oi! **** off, Ghosts!" as he swipes at the nearest vision with axe, doing nothing to the haunts, but still seeming satisfied in the belief their newfound transparency had more to do with the attack than any inherit bravery or mental fortitude on his part. "Yeah, that's right. Darn spooks. Won't get the best of 'ol Zashier, contrary to rumors. And -- wait, what you say Lem?" He calls back in a stage whisper. Once it's pointed out what the Dwarf meant for his attention, Zashier casually strolls over to the door, belting his axe to have a free hand to more easily open it.
If he heard anything of the combat, or thought anything of his own regarding any thumps, he brushes it off as Yashiera merely booting something to spook her. Classic, classic big sister.

When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
"Saw a trapdoor. There."Lem points. He doesn't look. He doesn't move. He keeps casting his minor illusion obfuscating dome over the spot in the middle of the room, not where he pointed.
Thistle moves to flank the spider, slashing with her saber as she goes. The tip of her weapon barely connects with the spider, but it is at just the right place opening up a big gash in the spider's underbelly. As you take a small step back, looking up at the ceiling, you dont see any more spiders....but you do see a lot of web. So much, you think this spider has either been here forever, or that maybe there are more, they just werent in the web at the moment...but no time to think about that now, you have a spider in front of you....
A spider who whirls on you, moving its eight legs fast. it clearly does not like having enemies on either side of it. It reaches out to bite you (15), then backs up to the Eastern corner of the room (yes, that provokes an attack of opportunity, which Yashiera will take advantage of, and you can as well, unless Yashiera finishes it off.)
Once again, it cannot bite you. The spider reached out, but was in too much of a hurry to get away, the angle was off and his tooth (fang?) glances off your breastplate.
As it backs into the corner, Yashiera shakes her head - clearly the poison is affecting her. She moves to chase after the spider, pulling a dagger as she goes. She raises the morningstar above her head, and brings it down on top of the spider as it is fleeing backwards (9).
She misses, but continues the chase (since she is next in the order). Her eyes are looking red and watery, and she is having a hard time seeing straight, but she swings twice with her morningstar at the spider in the corner (2016) and even though she cant see straight and might even be seeing double or triple, she aims at the "spider in the middle" and connects with her morningstar twice for 13 damage.
The spider collapses in a bloody heap, its head mashed in by Yashiera's morningstar. Some green poison drips off the end of a fang.
Yashier turns toward you, her eyes red rimmed and streaming tears, her skin already developing a rash, and she gives you a weak smile. As she moves back toward you, she collapses. She says to you "I just need a minute. Need to let this poison run its course. Hope there arent more of those things. Nasty things, spiders."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zashier, you move into the room, and get to where you think Lem said the trapdoor was, and you move aside a bed revealing a trapdoor in the floor, in disrepair. I assume you attempt to open it? It opens easily, and shows clear signs of regular use.
Yokini, you move into the room, looking for the trapdoor Lem told you about.
Yokini:
Suddenly, materializing out of thin air on top of these beds are burnt, charred corpses. They all sit up, from the waist, their dead eye sockets focused on you, screaming so loud it fills your head, their mouths full of fire and ashes.
Yokini wis saving throw - 2
You immediately move out of the room, in the same move Lem did, backing out of the room, likely bumping into the wall, sliding down next to him. Both of you shaking your heads. You are now frightened.
Thistle and Yashiera are around the corner, next to the unopened door of the dark area on the map that has yet to be revealed. Next to them is a dead spider.
Lem and Yokini are both our in the hallway, after exiting the room very rapidly.
Zashier, you are in the room with the beds, you have moved one aside and have found a trapdoor that opens easily, shows clear signs of use, and actually (new note from the earlier post) has a lock that is not currently in use. The lock looks like it was added later, on the underside of the door, but it was not locked. You were able to open it.
"Zashier can't go down there alone," Yokini says, shaking. She begins crawling along the wall toward where Thistle and Yashiera went. As soon as the room is out of her view, she'll get to her feet. When she sees the two, with Yashiera on the ground, she'll hurry toward them. "What's wrong? Where are you hurt?"
OOC: I just realized the party consists of three females and two males. How unusual to have more females than males.
Lem has stopped casting his dome illusion. When Yokini slumps down next to him, he glances up, head a bit wobbly, nods, and goes back to staring into the middle distance. "Romero's choice of a sweet romantic getaway does not come without flaws."
He offers his old friend a trembling, yet steady hand to hold should she need it.
The effect of being frightened will wear off in about 10 in-fiction minutes, but if you go in the room again, you will have to roll again. Zashier saved on his roll, and is now immune to the effect for 24 hours.
Yokini, Yashiera looks to you, and points at the remains of the dead spider, saying "Just a little bite. Need a little time for the effects of the poison to wear off". Yokini, you can see the poison dripping from the spider's mouth.
Lem rises in a smooth motion and follows Yokini to Thistle and Yasheira. When he sees the poison, he says, "next time let me go first. I don't mind that stuff."
He sighs, looking around, and glad they're okay. "Trap door in there. Zashier's trying to go in. Anything over here? I don't like this place."
Thistle's eyes flash at Lem, "If I'd known there was going to be a spider, I would have called for you..." then she shakes her head, and puts a conciliatory hand out. "Sorry, Lem, that wasn't kind. I'm just worried about Yashiera." She turns to Zashier's sister and Yokini. "Is she going to be okay? I've seen too many tough women try to shrug off injuries."
OOC > I know! Girl power! Also, this is just damage-poison, right, not long-term-exhaustion-and-death poison? Can we tell?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Meanwhile Zashier, who very much became rather absorbed with trying to puzzle out the best way to fit down the hole, maybe only caught a quarter what's been happening in the hallway. Fortunately by the time talk has turned towards injuries, the elephant man finally perked up as if having coming to a sudden realization. Before that comes about, if at all possible, he'll take off off the lock and pop it in a pocket. And if that meant trying to rip it off...
Come what may, the important thing he at least tries to take off the lock, ripping the door off completely if that's what it took. Though in failure, he accepted the 'L' with a humble nod, but a mental promise to try again later and far more zeal! Before then...
"So, it looks like Lem found us a trap door, if you can believe it. Which honestly why wouldn't you, as the dwarf here has been pretty on the up and up, all things considered. Might be a bit of a tight fit for me, and a slightly uncomfortable one for y--"Zashier pauses, finally noting the roughed up state of at least his sister. Without another word, he puts away the axe to holds out a fist to her, and gives her an expectant look. Both gesture and look she would know to be the infamous Brofist of the Zoltamane! A gesture so potent in hidden power, that does that accept find their spirits raised and wounds slightly more easier to bear!
At least that's what Zashier called it ever since "awakening" to following the transformation. With her acceptance hopefully secure, he finally takes in the others states and just gives them confused looks. "And you, Lem. C'mon man. We aughta get to see what's past that door you found, what with the mission and all that. Just remember what I said about challenges, and those Ghosts can't touch ya." As he said those last words, he tries at least to clap a hand on Lem's shoulder, channeling more good vibes to yet instill some Heroism in the dwarf, if only for a minute.
"You too, Miss Yokini. Unless you prefer I carry you?"
Yookini, you can tell that this poison is not lasting, and that she will be fine. She is down a few HP, but otherwise she is ok. The red, watery eyes and red skin were more flavor than any mechanical issue.
Zashier, yea you rip the lock off the wood, and pocket it. You now have a lock., but no key.
Lem, you are now immune to being frightened. (Zashier you saved earlier, so you are also immune to the effects)
Yokini, Thistle, and Yashiera would have to roll WIS saves if they go in the room.
You are all now in this side area where you see a bookshelf and a cabinet, as well as the rock poking through the wall. There are really big bold letters painted on the rock, though you cant quite make them out. There is also, of course, the door that Thistle was investigating that leads to an undiscovered area.
Thistle stands back up and turns to the door. Glancing up at the currently empty webs, she says, “There might be more spiders. We shouldn’t leave them at our back. Zashier, would you mind destroying this door for me?” She indicates the lone door.
