Meanwhile, in the Westwoods...

Quentin is so flustered, he trips over his own feet.  Fortunately, he has a prince nearby to catch him. "Careful," Lintelér chuckles. "Don't let all that starlight blind you."  As Quentin stumbles to try and catch the rhythm of the dance and get in step again, he catches the disappointed glares of eligible noblewomen who are realizing that they entirely failed to identify their most serious rival for the prince.

Mindartis thought he knew how to minuet, but apparently he does not. XD  Fortunately, Arania has already taken a liking to you, and knows you can do better, so she attempts to teach you the steps as you continue.

Quentin's face is entirely red as he almost trips saying, "I...I...I guess I'm lucky that you're here to catch me." Before looking at the noblewoman and saying, "I think...I think I've gained several rivals based on these glares." 

"You never know you have two left feet until you have someone to catch you," Mindartis says with a smile. "Thank you for showing me."

Del participates casually dancing with whoever needs a partner, and smiles seeing Q dancing with his highness, first open sign of what we have all known

The minuet comes to an end. Prince Lintelér thanks Quentin warmly for the dance, and kisses him on the cheek.Then he moves on diplomatically to dance with some of the ladies who have been lining up for his attention...though they seem to be a little less hopeful than they were before.  Likewise the ladies who were interested in Quentin, though now he finds a few young gentlemen ready to ask him to dance.

Mindartis and Arania enjoy a long chat and several dances, though they occasionally politely dance with others who ask. Arania does not stay very late, since she worries about her mother, but around midnight, she leaves Mindartis with obvious reluctance, promising again to write him and wishing him good fortune on his adventures.

The refreshing change of pace Elwin brought to the dance is noted by many, and he finds himself the center of admirers through the night, many asking where he learned that dance step, and wishing that he would be in the neighborhood long enough to teach it to them.  Several confess that they find gloomy music oppressive, and wish it wasn't so popular in the Fens, and start discussing an idea to bring in foreign musicians to hold a dance with all quick, cheerful music and maybe start a new fashion. Elwin, now a knight and having had a while to get used to lords and princes as friends, finds himself surprisingly at ease in this group...though from time to time, he can't help comparing their concerns and interests with the brutal struggle for survival that goes on outside castles and estates.

Del enjoys himself among new people, listening to new music, dancing, and generally just relaxing

Raven is grateful for this chance to spend time with her father, and they chat far into the night.

Eventually, each of you becomes tired, and leaves the ballroom. Servants standing by to help people to their coats and carriages show you to guest rooms for the night, where you gratefully sink into bed.  You are asleep (or in trance) as the music continues to play until far into the morning.

At breakfast Del seems to have a tune stuck in his head - he keeps humming or whistling. Doesn't seem to bother him much, judging from the smile.

Quentin has his own set of a couple more diplomatic dances, after getting his blush to go away following the Prince’s kiss, before he heads off to bed. As he comes out for breakfast the next day it is obvious that he’s still in a great mood following last nights events as he greets Del and whoever else is at the table. “Good Morning to you all. Whose ready for our adventures at sea.”

When Mindartis comes downstairs that morning he's... different. Though it's hard to put a finger on it at the moment he sits down, with a giant dopey grin on his face. "Good morning everyone, lovely day isn't it?"

"Good morning." Raven greets the others as she takes a place at the table.  "So how are we heading on from here then?" She asks, glancing around the table.

Elwin appeared refreshed and relaxed from the previous night's engagements. He awoke a bit early, and ate heartily at breakfast, greeting the others as they came to the table after him.

At Raven's inquiry, he took a second to swallow a large bite before responding, "I'm ready to go whenever!" The smile on his face matched his eager tone, as he added, "I could use a good scrap after a night like that!"

Until you asked that Sister, I was about to ask how we get to this riverboat. Del's face drops a bit as he develops a suspicion But the next part was "that your brother booked for us". All of a sudden I wonder if it can be trusted. I do want to get to the Hall of Courts quickly, deliver our reports, and get back to rescuing children.

"I personally think that whatever way we decide to go," Mindartis says with a smile, "I think it's the greatest idea ever. I'm sure Caizanna would love the run. The rest of our horses as well. Is there something different about today?" he asks, "I feel... different..."

raven gives mindartis a frown.  "What is up with you today..." She shrugs and gives him a smile instead.  "Whatever it is, I am glad to see you are happy this morning."  nodding to Del.  "I tore up the details for the boat and would not use it if my life depended on it." She says with a shrug.  "I am sure we can get passage ourselves, or continue on by horse."

Quentin smiles saying, "I think you're in love Mindartis." He gives the elf a pat on the back saying, "It looks good on you." Before turning to the others and saying, "If we go by horse we should leave quickly, it is a long journey ahead of us." 

We can leave once we collect our dungeon, and I have some items on order that should be ready to collect this morning. We can fly part of each day, horses in their new stalls. If we are comfortable in there ourselves, we could fly more hours and faster - Sir Elwin's winged boots, summoning and polymorphing someone into the fastest creatures - those not riding cozy in the lounge, some taking rest while the others carry the tapestry - we could cut that 6 days down considerably

"We're going to have to get feed for our mounts either way," Mindartis says in a sing-song voice. "I can go do that! I love going places and hauling goods all over the place, it's so much fun!"

Elwin suppressed a smile as he listened to Mindartis. It appeared the elf indeed was smitten--which was surprising to Elwin, but understandable. "I'd forgotten about the feed. While we're getting that, might as well stock up on some food for guests and such, too, for anyone else inside. Some travel rations, at the very least."

"Travel rations will keep better than food," Mindartis says.
