Del praises them for being safe, staying together, and stopping not too far. Shall we weather the next couple hours in Lord Quentin's hut or press on? We were going to be in time for the new moon, but our original task had us there in a week. If necessary Del can heal the necrotted horses but letting them just rest would save slots if more monsters stop by
“The hut will last eight hours though if we do this I’d recommend spending the entire night traveling. We only have so long to get there. If I’m out I can spend the entire time lowering the gravitational pull around our transport. It’ll make them easier to push around if a strong gust of wind comes but it’ll also make them faster.”
"I don't think we need 8 hours," Mindartis says, "just long enough to out last the wind. I don't mind trucking through the rain. I love walking in the rain!"
((Okay, so are you putting up the hut? The horses will not fit, they will have to be put in the tapestry first if you do. And if you like you can take a short rest through the worst of the storm.))

You are grateful to be under cover as the storm increases. It's a storm of shocking power, whipping leaves and debris through the air, and tearing branches from the trees. At the very height of the storm, you hear a terrible, shrieking groan and a tearing noise, and an enormous oak tree crashes to the ground, flattening smaller trees underneath its crushing weight. It barely misses your shelter, broken branches bouncing off the hut and being torn away by the wind. You can hear more trees falling, further away.
The view is disturbing, but none of the chaos touches you inside the magical hut. You are able to relax and get a little rest. Eventually, the wind starts to die down to less hazardous levels. The magnitude of the storm seems to have kept your troll friend from rejoining you...at least for the moment.

In the wind - even now it is pretty strong - we would want something very large, meaning some of you travelling in the tapestry as I cannot summon enough for us all. If that is what we want, I'll turn Lord Mindartis into aQuetzalcoatlusfor the first leg, and summon a pair ofGiant Eagles for him and me the next two or three.

Mindartis's face breaks into a wide grin and he bounces on his heels, "Oh that does sound like great fun! Let's hurry before the troll comes back to ruin it."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Let's roll for wind direction: 1 is north, going clockwise... 6 )
As the rest of the party makes themselves comfortable in the tapestry, Del transforms Mindartis into a huge, leathery primordial beast, who takes off with the bard on his back. You are still heading west, and the wind to the southwest gives you a great boost of speed. It is still gusty, but Mindartis the Quetzelcoatlus has the strength to stay in control, and the wind direction soon has you racing forward with breathtaking speed.
Below, you can see that the road is blocked in several places by fallen trees that would probably have delayed you considerably. You are able to soar over them at high speed with no trouble.
Once the transformation time has expired, Del and Mindartis switch to summoned eagles. As the afternoon goes on, the wind dies down, but you have had enough advantage to your speed by now that you are ahead of schedule. When you land after the final transformation, you have only a few more miles to ride before reaching the town of Cranes in the early evening. This is the town where riverboats unload their cargo before sailing or rowing back upstream. Though the wind does not seem to have done as much damage here as in the forest where the worst of the storm hit, a few of the large, wooden unloading cranes that give the town its name are down, and elves are scrambling to repair them. Boats are resting on land, where they were apparently pulled out of the water as a precaution during the storm, but the wind has rolled one of them right over, and the crew are working to set it upright again. So the docks are bustling with activity.
(You guys inside the dungeon may as well call this a long rest, if you want. Your horses and Elwin have time to recover all your HP. )

Del's a bit more wet and battered than the dungeon riders, but at least he wasn't cooped up. As the riverport comes into view he points out to Q Looks like they need some help with gravity. Do we know how much further to the Hall? Do we stay here the night or try to make it there?

Quentin will happily explain the Feather Fall spell while traveling, answering Del and tell him, "I'm sure we can help them real quick but I don't know how much longer we have until we are there."
Taking out the hand-drawn map they gave you at Castle Whisper, you can see that there are five or six miles of the river rapids before it goes over the cliffs and becomes the famous twin waterfalls. If you were on foot, it would take nearly a day to go down the long series of roads that slowly and cautiously twist their way down the cliffs. You can probably fly the rest of the way from here to the hall in less than an hour on eagles or owls (or Quetzelcoatls!) If Elwin wanted to fly with his winged boots, he could probably get you there tonight in a little over two hours. Lunch will be served in the hall at noon tomorrow, and the meeting will take place immediately afterward, so you have plenty of time, depending on how much time you will want to prepare and network with others there.
So, you have the option of pushing on and staying at the Hall of Courts tonight, staying here in Cranes and going tomorrow morning, or whatever else you might have in mind. (The DM does not recommend traveling to the Hall of Whispers by going over the falls in a barrel, but that is also always an option...)

Raven is amazed at the power of the storm and watches in stunned silence as the great oak flattens the lesser trees around it.
