Quentin looks a little nervous as he does his best to explain, "I've never been much of a man of faith but I think Del is trying to say that all the signs so far point towards no. That this is not how his Goddess would communicate. No talking or flames or silver. Plus, there would be the question of why you, someone who knows nothing of her and not Del. Someones faith is always a sensitive subject and you should treat it with sensitivity and care." 

"But you can't deny that there is quite a bit there that's almost too much of a coincidence yes?" Mindartis says, "I...I know I might have come off as insensitive. My sister and I have been searching for answers for a long time. And maybe we're close to finding that answer."

"I don't know. It could mean anything. Maybe for now we explore some other avenues or take some time to learn more about Del's deity without saying this is the person's name we need to find." Quentin suggests 

"Maybe," Mindartis says. "I'll have to think about it."

Elwin merely held his tongue. He knew very little about the Unnamed Goddess... he had always considered lessons of gods and other such things he'd never interact with to be "bookwork," and he had dismissed it as quickly as he did many other lessons he was taught in the abbey. A missed opportunity, to be certain, but if there was one thing that street urchins tended to be, it was wild and hard-to-tame. He looked back at Del, but found he lacked words that would help. But he didn't expect the not-quite-half elf to be upset for too long; he seemed more resilient than that.

Still, he hoped they'd all be on the same page again by the time they reached the Free City.

"So Quention," Mindartis says. "What kind of visions did you have last night?"

"I was visited by a small bird. They asked me who I was and when I responded had me show them. They led me to a room full of mirrors, all of different designs and each mirror showed a different Quentin. I simply picked out the mirror that showed the Quentin that I want to be seen as. The bird seemed to have liked that for soon all the mirrors cracked and made a reflective pool I was standing on. And in the reflection the bird was no longer a bird but rather an elf in long indigo robes. They sad they took a liking to me and gave me this amulet. It is inscribed with the letter Z and not only does it possess magical qualities that help boost up my hardiness but it also serves as a key to the mysterious elf's door. When I'm ready to learn more I simply need to use the key on the appropriate door." 

"Least yours wasn't completely vague about where to start looking," Mindartis says.

“I guess. We shall see later.” Quentin says, “Though perhaps I should research great elven wizards who names start with Z.” 

"I wonder how many of those there are in the world," Mindartis laughs.

So eventually we ride into Free City and make our way to the temple to check on the rescuees?

You have a peaceful ride  through the King's forest, and arrive at the Free City in about an hour.

The stable where Beezger's cousin works is on the other side of town, but there is another stable on this side, where you can park your steeds for two silver during the day, or 5 for overnight: or if you prefer, you can risk simply tying the horses to one of the many hitching posts on the ground level. There are some public watering troughs in the central market.

Once you have taken care of that matter, you approach the Temple of Corellon, a building of beautifully carved wood with tall spires. Once you state your business, the priest looks relieved and leads you down a side passage to the hospital.

You enter a room with rows of beds along the wall.  Most of them are empty, though a few people rest under covers.  A frantic priestess has a firm hold on the trouser waistband of a little Tabaxi, who is trying to claw her way up a carved wooden column, growling down at her.

Mindartis pays the silver to stable his horse for the day and when they arrive at the Temple of Corellon and witness the Tabaxi child attempting to climb up the pole he smiles. "Got a wild spirit don't you little one?"

Oh sweet one, you feel safer up high, don't you? If we get you home you'll be able to climb later. Come on and we'll be able to bring you to Huark Del continues trying to convince Cup to come down Persuasion 16

"Huark?" Cup stops clawing the column and lets the priestess bring her back down to the floor. But then she scowls. "Huark doesn't want me back.  He keeps trying to send me away. He didn't come and get me back from the Candyman. He's probably glad I'm gone."

"Candyman had a very clever way of making sure people couldn't follow him," Mindartis says gently. "Huark wanted to follow you, but he couldn't. So he sent us to find you instead."

"These are the brave band of heroes who rescued you and your friends from the Candyman," says the priestess.

Cup looks at you with more suspicious than gratitude. "Did you really throw him off the cliff?"

He fell off the cliff trying to stop us, or we would have captured him. The police checked and they are sure he fell. 

"Good. He was scary." Her fur stands up a little.
