"Such wonderful mushrooms, if they can provide all those things for you! And such a wonderful place to live, you are very fortunate! Goodbye!" Chom waves to the gnome as she disappears into the mist, then turns to the others with a pleasant smile on his face, happy to be conversing with his own race. "So where to now?"
"Wait!" Ketch calls out. "Little Gnome lady, wait! Who should we talk to, if not you?!?"
"Bah! May Gruumsh take the gnomes for they never can be easy!" Ketch mutters as she disappears into the mist. "Oh, not you friend Chom. You're easy enough, except perhaps on the ears. But I don't think we should be off quite yet. I think we need be warning someone... in charge? Not just a random gnome? Perhaps we should go holler at one of the cave openings?" Ketch starts approaching the closest and easiest to get to looking cave opening...
"Up!" John replyed to Chom, striding past the small fellow he followed Ketch. Not stopping to think weather they had completed their task or not, he crouched down to allow Ketch to step up on to his shoulders. He had been eyeing the cliiffs since they'd arrived, wondering internally if they COULD be climbed.
"If you get on my shoulders, i'll help boost you up!"

“Well I guess that would get me almost half there,” Ketch says before attempting to climb up on his shoulders. “As Gruumsh says, I get by with a little help from my friends.” Catchy, that, Ketch though while attempting to not fall and look a fool.
((Athletics check: 15))
((If successful Ketch calls out “Hellooooo?? Little Gnomelings??? Who is in charge here? By Gruumsh, take us to your leader!”
if failed, Ketch curses and sputters and flails about until he finally manages to get back to his feet and threatens to drop kick anyone who do much as chuckles!))
John, you get Ketch onto your shoulders with less issue than yoi may have thought.
Ketch, you're not used to being around one who could lift you like that. It takes you by surprise and distracts you to the point that you cannot keep your balance and fall back down.
John does not laugh, instead he gasps as he feels Ketch's weight shift backwards and then disappear altogether, with a loud thud! Whirling around immediately, he reaches out to help Ketch to his feet.
"Maybe we should work together to get one of the smaller folk up instead?" He poses the question to the group with shrugged shoulders.
"Mr. Chom, im sure i could sort of..." His hand raises to his chin in considering the cliff once more. "Toss you up?"

Ketch gets to his feet ((Athletics 20 just for amusement to see if he slips and falls again!)) cursing and grumbling. When finally on his feet he makes a show of "dusting" himself off and acting like he meant to do that!
"Brother," Ketch says after a moment, laying his hand upon John's shoulder. "As much as gnome tossing does sound like a fun pastime, perhaps it's not the best way to show the other gnome people that we're here to be helpful..."
Now shouting, "That's right! We're here to be helpful!" Ketch bellows. "By Gruumsh we'll help you all if we have to toss every last one of you!! Now who is in charge here?!?"
"So loud. Will be useful inside. The outsiders don't like, say it's too loud." The gnome stands on the nearest shore of the island, her hands cupped around her mouth to help carry her words. "But you're having trouble?"
DM: Is this the same gnome we were speaking to earlier?
DM: Where is she exactly? The shore opposite from us? Or is she on one of the islands?
Xel-Thoth addresses the gnome, raising his voice so that she can hear: Some assistance would be appreciated. We do not know the best way inside. We would like to get inside and speak with whoever is in charge. And , as you have mentioned, we can be quite "useful".
Xel-Thoth wonders what the female gnome was referring to - us being "useful".

((Phrasing doesn't read smoothly but I believe she is saying the loud yelling will be useful as it is very loud inside so tough to be heard...))
"As Gruumsh says, nothing easy is worth ignoring..." Ketch says while plodding off toward the winding path, still trying to brush the filth and water off of him.
"Come on everyone! Our new orcish friend knows the way!" Chom pauses for a second, apparently in deep thought, with Horace swooping down and landing on his shoulder a moment later. The gnome strokes the bird's head with a finger before marching after Ketch, seemingly oblivious to the increasing amount of moisture in the air.
John's shoulders shrug once more. Not paying enough attention to the little gnome to care which entrance they took. Except that he always enjoyed any sort of climbing or running or lifting! There would be more chances, of this he was sure.
He waits for his companions to all follow Ketch, before following as well.
Revelling in the wonder if the environment infront if him. The mushrooms, the waterfall, the swirling mists. These gnomes sure did pick a magnificent setting to call home. He absent mindedly follows the group through the winding path.
It is an easy switchback up thirty feet to the cave entrance. As you stand at the mouth, you see that the tunnel extends forward for about 25-30 feet. You can also just see another tunnel branching off on your left. And there is a difference to the sound of the waterfall as you step closer to the mouth.

((with regards to the islands:
1 is top left
2 on the left side of the bridge
3 the right side
4 middle right
5 top right.))
((Guess 3 sounds closest))
The cave opening is twenty feet up. The slope up is sheer and rocky, and sprayed by the mist. You'll have to climb up the slope to get to it.

Same gnome, on the island you saw her walk toward.
"Best fun is that way." She points to the entrance on the other side of the bridge (entrance 2).
"Best usual way is that way." Points now to the entrance to left (entrance 1).
"Best easy way is that way." Points to the opening with a short winding ramp. (Entrance 5)
