"The room with the barrels is across the bridge." The gnomes are out in the hallway, just peeking in as you search. They keep looking behind them and up as if expecting something.
"Have to go past the guards."
"And the blades."
"Easy from this side, though."
"Think the bridge is strong enough for them?"
"Don't know. The others don't really use it."
"So that must have been what happened to Orryn and Warryn."
"Er... you two are like trying to watch paint dry in a rain storm. Difficult to follow basically. Thank you though I suppose." Whiskey turns towards where the gnomes said
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack

The gnomes give Whiskey a stern look, then turn and head back the way you all came. They take you back through their room, glancing at the plans resting on their tables and then glare at each other as they continue.
They go through a different door then the one you had entered. You feel the air change. There is a strong breeze coming toward you as you walk up the tunnel. And a strange whistling.
You walk into a room and see a strange sight. Before you, two rapidly spinning devices, one coming toward and one spinning away. On each device, you see four levels of blades but you are not sure how many total there are.
The gnomes step to each side of the tunnel and look at you to see your reaction.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Renin remains somewhat flabbergasted that the gnomes are blocked within their own home by such contraptions, but perhaps it is a defense mechanism gone awry. He watches the pattern of the blades closely, searching for possible gaps that a quick foot might allow one to pass through. Not that he fancied trying such a maneuver unless he felt his odds were very good indeed, but still....
Perception: 21
huh it's not letting me roll. Well if the DM would like i can roll externally and post the result. Or else wait for it to be fixed, whatever is preferred.
Renin studies the movement of the blades, his hands trying to fall into their pattern. Just as he seems to get the hang of it...
The gnomes smile at your faces and bow. "Yes. Impressive."
"Glad you liked."
"Gnomish excellence."
Dabbledob makes a motion with her hand and a translucent hand appears before her. You watch it move across the tunnel to a switch on the wall. It flicks up and the blades begin to slow down, coming to a complete stop in a few minutes.
As you walk past the contraptions, you see that each of the four levels has six blades on it. There is less than five feet for you to walk through. You see that the edges are faced toward the cave entrance.
As you walk toward the opening, the mist and the roar of the waterfall reach you. You're twenty feet above the water. You can make out the mushroom islands to your left. Below you is a rope bridge that spans this end of the valley.
It is slippery from the mist and sags a little in the middle. At the other end is another cave entrance.
Inra pats Krov on the shoulder. "Worry not Krov, I have some rope if you want to tie it around yourself. That way, we can always just fish you back out."
Perception check of 10 or higher shows no rug or barrel here.
9 or lower, you're too intent on poking at things to notice.

"Mayhaps we should try that other room?" Whiskey shrugs not really finding much in this room

"Not that means much."
"True."

Renin nods and follows along with Whiskey, wondering what might lay ahead. "Guards" and "blades" didn't sound promising....

"....What is this?" Renin asks. "We were warned of 'pranks,' but this seems bit more than a joke.... is there no way for you to pass?"
"I would suggest Krov to hit it real hard, though Im afraid it would hurt him..."

Krov looks at the spinning devices and back at Whiskey
Well... I can always take a few hits...

Ah there it goes, fixed. Weird.

Krov looks at the bridge with a worried look on his scaly face
You want us to go through there.... That bridge? 250lbs like me, on top of that? Are you sure it can handle us? And if we slip... Oh lord...
