"We travel at the behest of the council of 5. We are seeking the cause for the twistings of magics in the desert. A vision by one of our troop led us to your tribe as the next step in our journey. Who amoungst your tribe would know something about the curse that has befallen the land?"
The orc, who seems to be the chief around here, stands tall—even bigger than you, if he’s not slouching. He speaks in Orcish, but his voice is much, much deeper than average orcs. “We know about the curse, but not much more. Your leaders don’t exactly share information. Tell us what you know about it, and I’ll see if I can help.”
Radar gets down off his mount and stands before the chieftain. "Magic has appeared to become unbalanced. Anytime someone uses magic, there are side effects. With your permission we could try to demonstrate."
The chief yells something in a language none of you understand. Everyone starts moving away from you and watch you from a distance, including the hobgoblin and the worgs. He nods and says “Do it” in Orcish. He also takes a few steps back and is about 10ft away now.
Your zone of truth manifests itself as a circle of harmless fire, but some of the embers get in your eyes. You don’t take any damage, but when you brush them away, you see the nearest person (probably Tarth) as your worst fear. That being said, you’re frightened of him for the next minute.
Do you use the spell on anyone specifically?
Tarth 71
You feel the cold shadows boosting your vitality for a brief moment, but then you start feeling warmer and warmer. You now glow a very bright light in a 30ft radius for the next 30 minutes.
Tarth feels a tingling in the back of his skull encouraging him to only speak the truth. It is an easy urge to overcome. The bright light emanating from his skin though is slightly more disconcerting.
Norak likewise shuffled away from the group as they began casting. He watches the results with rapt attention, "As you can see, a simple spell can go greatly awry. Have there been any discoveries by your people in the area lately? Perhaps a strange sight or a strange person?"
The circle clearly affects the chief, making him unable to lie. “My people have not seen any strangers around, aside from you.Have you found anything about the curse on magic? We would like to help cure our lands of the thing plaguing it.” He quickly steps out of the circle, made uncomfortable by that feeling in his head.
Affected by the spell and unable to lie, which he is disinclined to do anyway, "We are aware that magic is going awry, we have been led here, but we have no idea as to its cause."

Tanwar felt the magic creep up on him. It compelled him to speak true but Tanwar's iron will suppressed the feeling.
'You claim that there is no magic here.'Tanwar addressed the chieftain directly. 'Is your entire clan devoid ofpriests or shamans to give fealty to the gods?'
Tarth, Norak, and Tanwar were able to resist the zone of truth, but the chief, Kotog, and Radar could not. I’m pretty sure nobody is in the circle anymore so the spell can be dropped. Also, Radar is no longer afraid of Tarth.
The chief looks at Tanwar before responding. “We have no allegiance to the gods here. They have abandoned us, so we are not obligated to give them power through worship.” He then faces Norak. “We don’t know anything about what is going on with magic, but I can have one of my warriors join you on your quest to provide assistance.”
"Interesting, interesting indeed," Norak muttered as he stepped a little closer to the Chief with an almost clinical eye, looking the orc up and down. "Why do you so say the gods have abandoned you eh?"
“There is no one capable of magic. Our clan would have been long gone if we had not figured out how to tame Worgs. We did that by ourselves. The gods have given us every disadvantage they can, but we are still alive.” The chief steps back. “If there’s nothing else, you may go. Your weapons are at the entrance.” He turns around and walks away.
An orc approaches you all, larger than the one that led you to the camp. “Who are you and what are you here for?”

Tanwar kicked the flanks of his worg and rode up.
'How's your magic?' He asked, cutting straight to the point with gruff indignation.

The chief grunts. “No magic here. Explain the curse.” He crosses his arms.

Radar begins chanting in Orcish and casts a spell (Zone of Truth).
Seeing Radar casting, Tarth uses the opportunity to cast a spell as well. He once more pulls the dark shroud over him as a protective layer.

Startled by the change in Tarths appearance to a demon, he steps back away from him. This leads to him stepping out of the zone of truth.
