The landscape rises along the way to the West Tower, taking you to the higher points of Thorn Island. The wooden door to the tower is old and swollen, but opens with minimal effort. Immediately, you smell wet, freshly-turned earth. The ground floor is empty, save for dust and cobwebs. What remains of the upper floors of the tower have rotted away, and the roof of the tower is visible past broken floorboards and the remnants of stairs.
A set of stairs leading to a lower floor seems to still be intact.

The slender, round lighthouse towers eighty feet above the ground, the tallest Keep's structures by far. The door is unlocked, and opens to a large central first floor. A table sits in the middle of the room, surrounded by four chairs. Two other chairs sit beside a wood stove and cabinet.
A set of stairs runs circular around the lighthouse to a second floor.
Ola cast a quick glance at the table (any indication it was used recently? Some food, play-cards - anything?) and with a "I guess we are going up then" went upstairs. Surely beacon was not hiding in a stove or a cabinet.
Sylyra holds out his empty hand palm up and a flame springs into it. He begins to descend slowly, testing each stair before applying his full weight to it.

"It does look that way my friend", Arnald says while following Ola up the stairs.
Upon arriving in the basement of the West Tower, the light of Sylyra's palm reveals that the floor has been broken open, dug down to its stone foundation. The earth and tile are stacked neatly against the walls of the tower's perimeter, and digging tools lay scattered about the room. There is also a severed rope tied to a ring in the wall, leading down to a stone slab in the earth. Three other 50-foot coils of rope lay on the floor beside the slab.
The stone slab is approximately 10 feet on a side, bordered in worn glyphs, and has an indentation in the shape of a human hand approximately six inches away from the leading edge of the slab.

Ola Investigation: 17
The table on the first floor of the lighthouse has nothing atop it, but upon taking a close look, Ola notes only a thin layer of dust. This table was likely unused today, but it has been cleaned within the last five days or so.
The second floor contains five beds, three on one side of the room and two on the other; each bed has a trunk resting at its foot. The stairs continue winding up to a third floor above.
Sylyra scowls at the scene. "It looks like someone either climbed down through the foundation and then the rope they used to climb down was cut to trap them, or it was cut as they were climbing down to cause them to fall." He climbs down into the hole to get a better look at the glyphs and to peer into the opening. He'll also look at the hand print to see if there's anything of note about it. After using the flame to look at the glyphs and hand print, the elf drops the flame through the opening to watch it fall. If it lands on a surface, he will hopefully see more below. If it falls too far to see anything with it, if it goes out, or if he can't see anything below with it, he'll conjure another and hold it in his palm.
There was only one thing to do here - check again if the beds look like they were used any time recently (probably, unlikely), and then go up: "I am beginning to think the beacon is off because of neglect, how can it burn if no one is watch over it?"

Zelra will weave her way through all the furniture of the first floor, checking each and everyone of them for anything that may have been left behind as well as any hidden compartments. If there isn't anything there, she'll do the same for those on the staircase as she climbs her way up to the second floor.
She mumbles to herself as she searches. "What the hell would Igan be doing in a place like this... there has to be something here."

The flame drops from Sylyra's hand into the opening, landing near the handprint on the slab. The glyphs on the slab shine with the light of the flame until it flickers and fades after a few seconds. Despite seeing them clearly, Sylyra does not know what the glyphs might indicate.

Your hunch brings you toward the back of the room, where you quickly notice scuff marks in the floor near a tall wardrobe. The lines in the floor extend from the wardrobe's feet, past a nearby chair, as if it has been moved back and forth repeatedly.

ARNALD & OLA:
Ola Perception: 2
All of the beds are made, though made in different states of cleanliness, and the trunks and floorboards are coated in the same thin layer of dust as the lower floor.
The third floor is less cramped, containing a single bed in the middle of one side, a trunk at its foot, a dresser on another side, and a small writing desk along the side of the staircase that continues even further to a fourth floor.
The top of the steps is blocked by a thick wooden door that currently lies closed.
"Bingo, bongo. I knew it."Zelra smiles proudly as she finds the scuffs on the floor and attempts to pull the wardrobe forward to reveal whatever is behind it.
"They surely have not been here for days! Whoever is in charge of this unit has a lot to answer for. Do hope others will meet them and can get some explanation of such open disregard of their duties!" Ola tried to open the door.
Uragum comes to a similar conclusion. "I would agree with you're assessment." He then leans in a little closer, just enough to see the runes and tries to make out their purpose. After such he says," step back and give me a moment. I'm going to cast a spell to see what this stone really does... I have a feeling that it may open with the hand print and then close on its own after a bit."

The glyphs are not common, and Uragum has never seen their likeness before, but a few moments of studying them allows him to piece together bits of knowledge to determine their purpose. These glyphs are some sort of component to a ritual, and denote something "something in plain sight" that will "remain unseen". However, he also determines that the glyphs are worn enough that they no longer function.
The goliath focuses for ten minutes, then places his hand on the stone slab, his a little larger than the imprint upon it. As he speaks the verbal component of his spell, however, his hand is forced back by some sort of electric shock. Though surprising, Uragum seems no worse for wear.

Uragum shakes his hand after the shock and smiles. "Now this is getting interesting... it seems that this stone is some part of ritual. I cant make out it all but for something in plain sight and remain unseen."
He steps back and continues, "My guess, is this may have hidden a treasure or something else but in any case I believe we are on the right track. So what next we climb down?"
