OOC: Botting Arnald for this round with a longbow attack.
DM Screen:
1/24
Longbow vs. Animated Armor: 21Damage: 5
The armor thrashes against its attackers, smacking Ola's sword to the side and ignoring Zelra's arrow that skips off of its chestplatebefore grabbing Uragum's fist in its own gauntlet. Surrounded as it is, however, it can't stop Sylyra's staff, which slams into its "torso" with a magical strength. The armor almost folds in on itself, and Arnald finishes the job with another well placed arrow into its empty eyes. The helmet falls from the armor with a clatter, and the rest of the suit crumples into pieces.
OOC: Each character has received 80 XP for defeating the animated suits of armor!
Room Description:
Longer than it is wide, this room was obviously submerged at some point, as old, calcified growths of barnacles still cling to nearly every surface.
No door leads out of this room, but the corridor continues further beyond it.
Uragum stands the with his fist still up as the suit falls to the ground. He starts to push it all to a pile at the side with his foot. "Maybe, I'll grab it on the way back but now." he says.
He raises his hand up stopping the others. "What ya say we keep this more cautious? Want me to can't my spellbound detecting magic? It'll take me 10 minutes or we can press on and just be more weary of traps."
Ola took a piece of the shell armour, looked it over, the sighed and throw in the pile Uragum was making. "What a waste of good armour." "I say we can spend 10 minutes if it saves us from future encounters like that. Of course we can also ignore everything on the way and go straight to the last room."
Zelra nods at Uragum. "Yeah, that's a good idea. Hopefully there aren't any more magically traps but can never be too careful." As Uragum is doing his thing, Zelra will take the opportunity to peek around the corner, hopefully not interrupted by magical animated armor.
The green flames licking up Sylyra's staff disappears as the elf smirks at the others. "Two empty suits of armor too much for you?" He follows Zelra, sauntering to the end of the corridor to also have a look while Uragum does his thing.
Once the ritual is finished, Uragum will scan this room and the armor for signs of magic. If all seems well, he will follow the others while continuing to look about.
As the minutes pass, Sylyra and Zelra move ahead of the party to scout. Uragum completes his spell and for the moment, no magic is visible outside of the items carried by the party. He and Ola move forward behind the others.
The floor levels out in the next room, which is circular and 40 feet in diameter. Despite the water that fills the room to a level up to your shins, it is easy to notice the sinkhole that has opened in the middle, though seeing the bottom is impossible due to the amount of sediment that has accumulated here. The sides of the sinkhole are gently sloped, but covered in a thick coat of slick algae.
The only other feature of this chamber is a narrow hole near the top of the left wall and a closed door of beaten brass on the far wall. From here you can see a smear of dried blood upon the handle.
Uragum scans the room. "I sense no magic within this room meaning no..." He stops as his eyes see the blood on the handle. "I see no magic but there is blood upon that handle. Its unlikely thats its been there for decades and likely fresher. Proceed with caution and avoid the middle of the room."
With that said he will wait for someone else to move forward first and will try to travel in the middle.
"Well, lets see if there are traps, shall we?" Arnald will send Sly to go sit on the door handle to see if it's a trap of some sort. Once Sly's in position, Arnald will edge around the walls to the far side. If nothing has happened from Sly sitting on the handle Arnald with call Sly back, position himself beside the door, then grab the handle and try to open the door while keeping an eye for anything coming from above or the center of the room.
After Sly has done his thing, Zelra will make her way to the door handle itself and try to see if the blood is fresh or not. After that, she'll do a more thorough check for traps around the door.
Water ripples from the air of Sly's wings, but nothing perturbs the hawk as he lands upon the handle of the faraway door. Keeping a cautious eye on his surroundings, Arnald makes his way to the opposite side with Zelra, the pair easily navigating the slick waters around the edge of the room. After an inspection of the door and its frame from Zelra, Arnald attempts to open it. The handle moves, but the brass door seems to be stuck.
There is so much sediment in the water, even before the amount kicked up by Arnald and Zelra's path through the waters, that it is unlikely that anything can be seen from within or without the sinkhole.
Seeing the door is stuck, Zelra whips out her crowbar. "Hello again, old friend. Seems you're getting a lot of use on this island." She jams it into the gap between the door and the wall before turning to Arnald. "Help me out?"
Out of curiosity Ola helped with investigations: she stopped the water from flowing in the hole for a while - until the dagger test is done, making a 5ft empty space around it ( Shape water )

Zelra STR (Advantage-Crowbar): 17
Ola controls the flow of water while Sylyra drops a weighted length of rope into the sinkhole from one side of the room. The rope only drops for around 7 or 8 feet of its length before he feels the weight of the dagger touch the bottom.
Using her crowbar, Zelra is able to unstick the door, forcing it open. Beyond it, the corridor continues, winding around a bend to the left.
OOC: For reference, Sylyra, Ola and Uragum are on the side you entered from, while Arnald and Zelra are on the opposite side by the door.
"Hold up," Uragum calls as he follows after the two. Once catching up he focuses his arcane vision searching for any signs of magic in this side. He will relay what he sees to the others.
Reeling the dagger back in, Sylyra says to Ola, "It seems to only be about seven feet deep. Scoop out as much water as possible, and I'll dive down and feel around to see what I find."

If the others already damaged it to the point that it's not animated anymore he just punches and knocks an empty breastplate across the floor.
