Amathile will calmly follow the others to the inn. He will gently pat Crescent, his black riding horse and let him know in Elvish that he will be back.
When his turn came to address the receptionist, he says, "I will take a suite myself. In addition, I have a black mare named Crescent out front. She will need boarding the time being. Finally I will need parchment and ink to compose a letter to have one of my kinsmen pick up my steed."
The receptionist sets you up with the rooms requested, and takes care of any other requests you have made. It is clear she is in awe of you all, and does her best to go out of the way to provide whatever you might want.
The group has a restful night, with Vaden winning a considerable amount of gold from the Yawning Portal patrons before Durnin had to talk to him about it.
The next morning you all meet up again, this time outside of the Yawning Portal, and need to decide how you wish to travel to the cabin.
Vaden, yawning from his late night, fidgits in his dragonscale boots and furl-lined pants as he stands with the others. "I still think the plane shift option might be viabable..." he says, flipping a gold coin.
Coin flip: 1 1 = heads, 2 tails.
"Never mind..." He says as he stuffs the coin away again. "So we doing this plant thing or traveling there?"
Gandolph asks "What are the risks with the plant travel proposal? Clearly is it preferred but if there is a chance of disaster we should consider the overland journey"
Amathile appears, fully dressed in his red scale armor, sword at his side, and as always, his hair perfect. "In my opinion, if all if this has to do with some change going on creating those metallic like abominations from last night, the slow travel could mean casualties across the nation. I vote for speed."
"Transportation via plants is rather safe so long as you know where you're going." Qatyra seems a little unkempt this morning, her hair a mess and her armor a bit off center. Judging from the dew on her clothing she seems to have slept outside.
Jown Sno says, "I would prefer traveling by the plants since it would be faster however, I am not opposed to traveling on land the traditional way either."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Raist who barely sleeps anymore due to age, finally joins the rest of the group, after sitting in bed and meditating over things. "So how are we traveling today, magicky travel to me is nothing exciting and traveling over land gets old real quick. Plus the idea of sleeping on the cold ground again make my bones ache. I say we go by way of plant and we leave as soon as we are able."

Someone is going to have some really bad rolls! Sure you rolled d20s there? lol.
Once the group has gathered, and are ready to move on, Gilra takes you out of the city and to a large tree she knows of nearby. She takes a moment to ready herself, then casts ehr transport via plants spell.
One by one you step up to the tree, then pass through it.
The world you left behind was warm and summery, with the sun just starting to peak over the horizon.
The world you step into is filled with swirling snow, howling wind, and a feeling of pervasive dread. The first thing Gilra Qualanthri would notice is that the tree she had wished to travel to is not the one she reached. She does recognize this one though, as it is another tree near the cabin you seek. It is about 2 miles from the cabin, and it appears that a blizzard is raging all around you.

Vaden spends the evening gambling with anyone who will play with him in the common area. He then will retire to his own room for the night.
Your spell fails. You can give me an Arcana check to see if you can figure out why.
"I'll be outside, I'll find a place to crash wherever I end up."

Sorumar will show up early, waiting for the others, when they arrive, "I'm still good with either, but the plant method is certainly faster."

"I will trust your judgement and take the faster route. Clearly there are dangers either way as you say."

yeah you don’t know why you’re not able to scry on your old mentor.
