Short backstory (2-3 sentences): Harukai was saved by Belloc, a priest of Ilmater, when his parents were killed in a fire and he was severely injured. He tried to follow in the priest's footsteps, but he was only able to learn a few spells. He did excel, however, in the nonmagical healing arts, able to diagnose illnesses and use healing kits to quickly remedy injuries. Heavy armor and bulky weapons were also not his forte, but he did learn to dodge pretty well and throw a mean punch while wearing his simple clerical vestments. A relatively quiet, unassuming acolyte, Harukai is happiest helping others, either by cooking a satisfying meal or tending to their wounds. When battle comes, though, he leaps into action to defend his friends.
The pre-buildup EOTWs for Descent to Avernus actually have so many encounters listed that it reads like a campaign and officially gives the advice to reset the player characters to level 1 when you finish it or they'll be too high up there. Rememer you can and will probably have to tweak them to your liking, too :-) Personally I'd take them and reskin them right out of Faerun and into Ravnica or Eberron for some fun times, and then throw in some homebrew stuff.
