Backstory: Auraani ran away from her home village at the age of 15, following an incident that claimed the life of the boy she loved. She was taken in months later by an outcast elf/human couple who taught her in the ways of magic and helped her prepare her first spell book. She wanders the land trying to escape her personal demons and the voices in her head, hoping one day she can forgive herself for the things she has done.
Errol has always been fascinated by Knowledge and Learning, although his approach to both at the Candlekeep was not always appreciated--apparently sneaking around and pilfering the books you want to read, with or without permission, is frowned upon. Eventually, his side job with the local constabulary grew into a full-time position as he found his true calling: solving mysteries! Errol found he was good at noticing things others missed, and reading people's innocence or guilt in their expressions. At the same time, he was able to master a few magical spells, including one which allows him to identify magic items--truly helpful in several of his investigations. Still, one can only investigate so many mysteries in a single place, so Errol set off to find real adventure and solve more and more complex mysteries. Hopefully he won't get himself killed in the process.
Chosen Feat: Magic Initiate (Wizard)
Common Magic Item: Fernian Ash Wand
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Gerrard Feldren - Human Noble in Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Kerric Brightblade - Elven Warrior in "Apocalypse"
Just heads up to all I will be reviewing all the characters later tonight so that I can make a final choice come tomorrow. If anyone wants to make changes or needs to finish their application now is the time time to do so.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If applications are still open...
Ability scores: 131514151214
Name: Seebo
Race: Halfling
Class: Warlock
Background: Outlander
Backstory: Seebo would spend days on end in the forest. Walking animal trails that other races could not due to his small size. On one such trek he came face to face with a White Stag. Such a beautiful creature to behold. He vowed then and there to do all he could to learn about this magnificent beast.
He would return to the forest many times in search of the White Stag, but he could not find it. In desperation he kept searching, leaving behind all he had.
Many years later, unbeknownst to him, he would encounter the White Stag once more. Not in the physical world, but in his dreams. For his dedication to the beast, the Stag imbued him with a power to protect all that was good and light in the world.

Character name: Folwind
Character race: Lizardfolk
Class: Barbarian
Background: Haunted One
Character backstory—
Folwind has brought madness and negative emotions over their own young actions. At birth, he was gifted some talent in arcanum, yet he had desired to follow rather brutish forms of fighting in a hazy mist of the past. He was adopted under a middle-class orphanage at a later age, with no clue as to how he had gotten there as his beginnings are often hard to recall.
He could only remember a sigil engraved on his left hip, formed by fire that made him a slow-burning flame that ignited only its earliest kindle. Despite that, his anchor to logical thinking was the racial thought-processing he was born into, and that feature alone often kept him awake to battle his own immense resentment for the dragonborn race and the rest whom seeks to break his mind further.
Eventually, he found recluse when a caretaker had given him a rope, unbeknownst to their thoughts, bringing magical power. Folwind cut up the rope and used it to tie into his confined room's barely slippable window to climb easily, and broke out with the rope intact.
Nowadays, he is often on his feet, looking for suitable people to aid in containing his inner anguish before it took over his broken mind completely. The pain follows through as he grips the rope that set him free, "But I must yield to only death."
Applications are now closed. I will pm those I have chosen by this evening at the latest. If any spaces open up I will be picking from other submitted characters first.
Let's see what the dice have in store for me here.
