"I guess I'm going to have to look for these" she brings herself to her feet, smothers the flames on her with her bedroll, and searches through the...research (OOC: come on, no whammies)
Tella is able to uncover the all meat of what there is to know from the library. She comes up with the following cliff-note summary:
Maghiel Maghiel “The Shunned” is a Drendali Battlemage who is, by now, almost 500 years old. She is a veteran of the Divine War, where she fought alongside Elves and Dwarves for years. She was a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, a decisive leader, and willing to do whatever needed to be done to gain a victory. Maghiel is most famous for her apparent desertion at the Battle of Gambedel’s Bridge. After some public invective about her allies’ lack of discipline, lack of heart, and lack of balls, Maghiel disappeared from the pages of history.
Gambedel’s Bridge
Also known as the Bridge of Betrayal, at the Battle of Gambedel’s Bridge the gods and their allies fought a losing battle against the titan Chern and his minions after the dwarves of Burok Torn fled the field. Madriel herself intervened, though only enough to ensure that Dier Drendal and Burok Torn did not fall that day. There are competing theories about Maghiel’s role in the battle: either she fled the field too, or she pursued the dwarves, intending to convince them to rejoin the battle.
Ahead of you, along the crimson path is a tower.
On the map here, the green dot is Chandlers Folly, a small town is located on the river. Kendrick may have heard of this town (roll a wisdom check with a DC of 17 to see if you know about the town.) Lapo is an even smaller settlement that Tella may have heard of (roll an Arcana check DC 17 to see if you know of Lapo)

Kendrick:
Wisdom check with disadvantage: 4
Kendrick looks intently at the map, but can't remember anything about the town of Chandlers Folly other than a tavern wench named Monica he knew claimed to be from there. Maybe he is just too tired to think straight.
OOC: Did Kendrick get a rest while Tella was investigating?

While Tella and Kendrick are studying the map, Bilick starts pacing, club in hand, watching for any signs of shadows. "Dain, is there any way out of....whatever this thing is? Do ye have any idea if there's some gateway or summat we can use to get back to the Bridged City?"
Yes, you can all use this time for a short rest, including Tella. When you are finished resting, and studying, I'm going to assume you want to head down the crimson path to the tower.
There is something… stable… about this space. It feels solid, real in a way that the other parts of the Academy did not. It’s full of people, too. Very busy, loud people. A dozen humans and dwarves in blue Academy robes, some clearing space in this cavernous great hall, others scrutinizing and tinkering with jury-rigged machines heavy with antennae and what might be lightning rods. The brown-skinned woman you saw speaking with Tsendur seems to be leading the efforts.
"Eric!" Dain yells. "That's my friend Eric the engineer. He's okay!" Dain runs to greet his friend.
"You lot!" Savila shouts at you. "Can any of you channel magical energy?"
OOC: Excellent, Kendrick will keep that roll for spending the hit die from before and hope that maybe some of his strength returns and/or he loses some of the exhaustion after the rest.
At Savila's question, Kendrick shakes his head no and steps back so that the magic using people can take the lead.

At the mention of magic, Bilick will quietly grumble to Kendrick, Osso, and Tella "Next time there's a fire, even if its in me own grove, I'm nae gonna do a thing to help. Jes' let the bloody thing burn."
Before walking over he silently calls upon the blessings of the Summer Court and asks it to imbue Purbag with some renewed vigor, and he gives the big orc 2 HP back plus 1 temporary hp. "Jes in case, big man." He pats the big orc on the back -- or at least as high as he can reach.
He raises his hand and walks over to Savila. "I can channel the power o' nature into me magic. What do ye need, lass?" He says.
A cadre of Academy mages and scientists, led by Savila, are working on a ritual to stabilize time and space within the Academy’s bounds; essentially, they are trying to drain away all of the wild magic, sinking it into the engineers’ machines and dispersing it safely. Considering they are using magic to do this; it is a risky procedure.
"Magic users, I will need your help to channel energy to the machine." Sivila says. You hear the all to familiar sound of twisted whispers coming from where you entered the tower. Shadows. "I sounds like we don't have much time."
"I'll hold them off as long as I can," says Kenrick, moving to the doorway he just came through and taking up a defensive position. "I'm too tired to run, anyway." The barbarian stands at the portal, ready to repulse any undead attack and buy the mages time to unravel this wild magic mystery.
OOC: It looks like the strength drain should be gone after the short rest, but the exhaustion requires a long rest to eliminate. Is that correct? In any case, Kendrick will try to stab at any shadow that comes to the door using his reach weapon, then try and hold the shadows behind the door, using the Dodge action to make himself harder to hit.

"I hate magics, but hate shadows more. I defend door with Kendrick" he beats the handle of his greataxe to his chest in defiance to the undead threat. "Come get, dwarf angry!"He shouts out the doorway.
"I guess that leaves me to help as well, I have the powers...of...Transmutation" Tella says, giving a slight glare to her companions, but it was more of a glance "So where is this 'machine'?" It isn't until then she hears the shadows coming and curses in draconic before running away.
Bilick will follow Savila, cursing silently in Dwarvish the entire while, putting away his club and drawing his yew wand to really focus his magical powers.
"Thank Bilick. Purbag fight with swords and shoot shadows great! Purbag know no magics"
Purbag will position similar to the last room where he will be shooting the shadows over Kendrick's/Osso's shoulder (hopefully hit the first one outright before Kendrick moves to block the door. If Kendrick and Osso switch at any point and Osso needs to switch out, Purbag can draw his longsword and block the door as well.

OOC: Tactically, it probably makes most sense for Osso to take the point, either dodging or attacking as he sees fit. Kendrick could attack from over one shoulder (with his reach weapon and using reckless attack to get advantage) and Purbag can attack over Osso’s other shoulder with arrows/bolts.
