Diomedes walks to Leowin and puts a hand on his shoulder and speaks with slightly exaggerated bravado
It would be silly of me to question someone putting their trust in something crafted! I hope you can put the same trust in your crafted companion! Hohoho.
He then turns as if to look at the skyline and whispers to Leowin
I am sorry if I have touched a nerve friend, it was never my intention. I am always here if you need someone to speak to about anything that troubles you. I have heard many a dark secret confessed on a deathbed. There will be no judgement from me
Their main base are some ruins located in The Towering Wood of The Eldeen Reaches ...I do not know the exact location as once I escaped, I never looked back. Eoni then grimaces, Every now and then I will cross paths with one of their disciples and not soon after a “gifted child” will disappear without a trace from the local village or some such settlement.
That's a good step from here. Maybe they'll have to wait for another time. But if you see any of these "disciples" while we're on our travels... you let me know, ok?
A comfortable silence falls over the group as the Vagabond crawls lazily through the sky. As the days pass the mountains and calderas of Q’Barra peter out and are replaced by the sweeping plains and valleys of the Talenta Plains, traditional home of House Jorasco and halflings in general. You spot herds of herbivorous dinosaur making their slow migrations across the plains, occasionally spotting a halfling tribe or hunting party far below. One morning as you are leaving Talenta you are awoken by a shuddering from the Vagabond. You can hear the Chief swearing and crashing about in the innards of the vessel but for reasons you’re unable to fathom the Vagabond seems to be losing power, slowly starting to lose height and speed.
Eoni grumbles awake, muttering a few curses under her breath. Seeing the ship starting to lose height though, she fully wakes up and runs off to find Chief.
Looking into the engineering department you see piping is splitting and steam is being vented all over the deck. Buggered if I can work it out lad! Seems like the elemental inside the Khyber shard is trying to escape and is over pressuring all of the systems. Chronos is aiming is for the nearest town on the map. You’ll be able to crack in to Atur from there while we stay and fix up the ship. This will take months to fault find and correct on top of the old damage from the crash.
The Vagabond slowly descends out of the sky. You see a town emerge in the distance, the tracks of the lightning rail trisecting it from your current vantage point. The town gets larger and larger as you get lower and closer. Chronos does the best he can and the Vagabond settles gently onto the ground just outside of one of the main gates into the town. A large sign hangs near the gate. Welcome to Vulyar! You are now entering through the Iron Gate into the Iron Ward
The town has a thick wall around it with the lightning rail splitting it into three sections. You head towards the nearest gate and join the queue of travellers heading in on foot. As you head into the main square near the station you see a large sign. You see it’s 447 miles to Atur and the next train is not for another 2 days. There is a large and well appointed looking tavern across the square
You enter the tavern and it is a bustling hub for traders and travellers. Booking a room overnight while you wait for the train is not an issue and only costs 5 silver each with food included
Later that afternoon you are sat at a table enjoying some food and a few chilled beers, when an urchin sidles up to the table and slips a letter onto the top in front of Eoni before scurrying back into the crowd

Leowin adopts a broad smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes, and looks up.
I'm not what you might call a family man. Never had much need of one. I put my trust in a good sword instead.
(OOC: it is clear to Diomedes that Leowin is hiding his discomfort)

No judgment from any of us elf boy, Eoni says smiling, After all, I’m a mad bad witch...
Eoni shrugs and nudges Leowin playfully trying to encourage him.
Leowin, without changing his smile a degree, leans over and claps Diomedes on the shoulder.
Ah, no worries Dippie! My nerves are just fine.
He turns to Eoni, his smile fading away, and his hand resting on the hilt of his sword.
Tell me something. What happened to the people in that cult? I'd like to talk to them, if they're still around.
(OOC: not for the first time, the characters notice that Leowin dislikes the mistreatment of children)

Leowin scowls.

Eoni beams at Leowin, touched by his words, Sure thing elf boy.

What’s going on?!
Leowin makes his way up to the deck and finds the chief.
What's going on Chief?

Rollo, already awake prepping his pipe, follows suit.
Leowin nods in understanding before going back below to get his pack.

Shall we?
I think we shall... Eoni heads over to the side of the ship to get a better look at the town they have come to the gates of.

Eoni raises her arm in the air, pointing to the building, To the tavern! She declares, marching off towards it.
