Andrømeda gives a sharp nod at Darrin, and with a meaty slap of her hand to his shell takes a solid step forward, resting her hands on her hips with a large, enthusiastic grin. "Hels friends. Am'm hoping to aid du, so together vi vil kill many uvenir, and drikke much ale, haha!"She raises her greataxe over her head as she speaks before slamming the base into the ground as if to punctuate her words. Her voice is booming, though her tone is warm.
Darrin is jarred slightly off balance by the unexpected power behind the friendly pat on his back. He takes a quick step forward to maintain his balance and chuckles. "Well, if there are no prayer requests and you all are otherwise okay, I think I'll be heading back to town. Do, please, give Adabra at Umbrage Hill my regards. Please let her know that I will probably be stopping by later in the week to buy some health potions from her if she has any made."
After some hand shakes, nods, and final words, Darrin makes his way back in the direction he and Andrømeda had come from, leaving you all to continue your way with your new companion.

I'll be curious to ask her about if there are any professors of the magical arts in her family. Interest in a study of magic sometimes goes back many generations! In fact.."as the greataxe hits the ground he loses his train of thought, and then looks up at the tall human from a bit under her waste and says "Ah! Well you're a tall one! Ah... Have you seen this type of beast before?"Showing the picture he'd sketched of the mimic, adding "You look the type that could handle a creature like this on your own! Glad ta have ya! I'm Kwisatz! Hearing the enthusiastic prattle, Andrømeda looks down at Kwisatz with a sparkle in her eye and a grin, looking like she was about to say something before the question registered. Grabbing her left elbow with her right hand and tapping her chin with the index finger of her other, she looks up in thought, before shrugging a bit and replying. "Hmmm... Andrømeda gave Kwisatz a quick up and down glance before replyin with a smile, "Si jahus ankua ini vi petisse svadrav si jahus vi vrak."(I was taught by a Kobold when I was a child.) Then, Andrømeda reached down, leaving her hand open to Kwisatz. "Am thinking am'm gonna like you, little handsome."

Kwisatz blushes a bit, for the first time a bit out of words, and then says "heh... well young lady I could be your grandfather's grandfather! But thanks. This group looks just what I read about when I prepared for adventurin'! Shall we?" He then looks to Duncan and says "Could you go spot the trail for us and tell us if anything is coming?"
At this, Duncan the albino crow caws and takes flight. perception 18

Duncan flies off, as directed, in the direction of Umbrage Hill. He sees a few other birds in the air, some cows and a small farm here or there, but nothing threatening or unusual. The trail ahead looks clear and the next hour's worth of walking is uneventful. At least, that is until the party arrives at Umbrage Hill.
The party is approaching from the southeast and as you climb up a hill, you can see the top of a windmill that is a little further northwest of you, but you think you hear the sound of a woman yelling. As your crest the hill you are among what seems to be seven dwarven cairns. There is another hilltop to the northwest that is about 20' lower than the hilltop you're on, and on top of it sits the 3-story windmill you saw as you were climbing the hill you're on.
In the second story, out of the east facing window, you can barely see a woman leaning out the window, blindly yelling for help.
Below her, at what used to be the entrance to the windmill, in the rubble of what used to probably be an attached farmhouse sits a large monstrous creature with a vaguely humanoid head, the body of a lion, and the wings of a dragon. Its long tail ends in a cluster of deadly looking spikes:
Creature Perception: 19 (DC20 to notice any of you considering how far away you are and the fact that it's already preoccupied)
Currently, this beast's attention is occupied by trying to break into the bottom floor of the windmill.
Current character location (let me know if you'd rather start somewhere else):
And, just to give you context on the entire area of this map, here's an image of the entire map. (I zoomed in above so that it would be a bit easier to see the icons and navigate the map, but the whole area is accessible to you, except for maybe where the creature is blocking your path.)
As the party continues to approach the windmill and the sounds of the woman crying for help, Kwiz, in all of his scientific excitement at seeing yet another creature he might not have ever seen before quickly walks over to try and get a better view. (He's at X18. I'll update the map when I get a chance.) With a 8 stealth roll, I'll say that in his excitement, Kwiz, as he tends to do, was jabbering on (he thought he was whispering...) about how exciting it is to run into such a creature, and how majestic it is, and he wonders what each of the different aspects of each of its appendages would be used for in nature, etc. and the creature turns away from the front door and locks its angry, human-looking eyes on Kwiz.
With a 22 nature check (from the OOC chat), Kwiz realizes he's read about these before. He has found himself in a staring contest with a manticore. (Note: at this point, no one else realizes what this creature is. If anyone else wants to attempt to ID the creature, give me a Nature roll.)
In words that almost hiss, the Manticore says, "Who are you to interrupt my lunch?"
It hasn't moved from the front of the windmill, but its body language indicates that it's ready to.
Meanwhile, the lady in the second story window looks exasperated at this point and has taken a break from yelling. As the Manticore speaks, she looks down at it and then out in the direction it is currently looking until she spots you. She calls out, "A little help, here?"
"Well, I could always just try and make a meal out of you five if you're making yourselves available," the Manticore hisses in reply to the woman's plea.
Andrømeda, not liking how close her newest, smallest friend was to the creature, steps forward to put herself between the two, greataxe in hand, and draw the creatures attention. "Am'm thinkin you won't find a meal here, and even if you did, the only et of us with any kjott on their bones is me, sos'm thinkin it best to fill your belly wie the food vil be easier to stomach."

Kwisatz, finally realizing he may be in danger, starts slowly stepping back, though still keeping his eyes fixed to the creature attempting to memorize details to sketch later.
((I'll use the 16 Intimidation roll from the OOC chat.))
Until now, the Manticore had its attention, almost entirely, on Kwiz - it was aware of everyone else, but it hadn't properly sized everyone else up, yet.. The hazy figures standing in its periphery finally coming into focus as Andrømeda speaks her broken Common. An expression of momentary uncertainty flashes over the Manticore's face at Andrømeda's words, but it sets its feet into the ground and its stare now on Andrømeda.
"Unless you can make me a better offer, I've got to eat and all of you look tasty. With the young white dragon eating all of my food, I need to eat, somehow."
"Wait," the woman on the second floor says. "Did it just say a dragon?!" The woman disappears from view back into the windmill.
