Lyngheid prays to the Mother for soothing rains to fall on the fire.
OOC: Create Water. You create up to 10 gallons of clean water within range in an open container. Alternatively, the water falls as rain in a 30-foot cube within range, extinguishing exposed flames in the area.
Droop rushes over and empties his water flask onto the fire, then starts scratching and digging at the dirt. Athletics: 21.
Alright! Dirt starts to fly as Droop and Baeshra digs into the ground and flings it onto the fire. Whistler rushes over with a chest and fills it with dirt and then dumps it on the fire. Lyngheid casts Create or Destroy Water several times making it rain over the fire. These combine efforts are enough to put the fire out!
Ireniana will go and begin searching G6's corpse for anything useful.
You find a pouch with a handful of strange teeth, and unidentified meat.
Searching the other goblins, you find similar pouches, but several of the goblins have other things: you find a crowbar, an empty vial, a piton and a bag of ball bearings.
After quenching the flames Droop excitedly runs up to Ireniana and starts chattering about his sword work, telling her all about how he saw the goblins coming for him and the horse and got his feet in the right position just like she taught him and then lunged at just the right time.
Then he picks up a shortbow from one of the fallen goblins and asks "Droop shoot too?"
Umbriel winces a little bit, rolling his shoulder where he took a particularly well aimed arrow. "Thank you again, Rosie. Nice work, everyone. Droop, excellent work defending the horse and supplies. You have earned the shortbow - it'll probably be more effective than ball bearings at range, but listen to Ireniana, she's obviously taught you well."
Looking at the battered bodies of the goblins nearby, Umbriel continues. "This was a fairly large raiding or hunting party, I'd imagine. We must be careful, as we approach Cragmaw we are likely to run into more of these. Is everyone ready to continue on? The smoke from that fire might bring more attention than we'd like right now."
Baeshra will gesture to the woods, “Might be good to enter the woods for the rest of the way, try and avoid anything that might come looking for the source of the smoke.”

That plan could work. Here's the map. The blue dot shows your current location. You were a little less than 1/2 days journey out of Thundertree. If you all decide to go into the woods, would you head straight for Cragmaw Castle?
(Up to the group, but my suggestion would be to cut east until we were north of it, then head straight south. Less likely to run into anyone from there investigating missing goblins and smoke.)
Ireniana listens to Droop's battle stories. "Impressive, Droop. You did a good job. I'd love to show you how to shoot if you find another shortbow and some arrows." If there's another shortbow and arrows, Ireniana will grab them.

Easily done! Each of the goblins had a shortbow and a full quiver, so you grab one of the bows and a quiver or two of arrows and show Droop the finer points of bowmanship.
You all take a few moments to plot out the new course. Going straight east and then straight south, you estimate it will be about 2.5 days of travel through the woods. Also, if the woods get too thick, the cart will slow down your pace a wee bit, so the 2.5 days could turn into a little more.
If you decide to do this, everyone roll a Survival check for foraging along the way for the rest of the day. Umbriel roll an additional Survival check for Navigating for the rest of the day.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Droop Survival: 12
Ireniana Survival: 7
The party makes haste into the woods, away from the smoldering remains of the grass fire and goblin corpses.
Umbriel's excellent navigation skills take them directly east as the sun passes it's zenith and the afternoon commences. The first part of the woods in no problem for the cart, with the trees being plenty far apart, and not a lot of downed timber. Farmers and loggers must keep the edge of the woods pretty open.
The party forages along the way, Whistler finding plenty of berries to go with his nuts. In fact, everyone except Umbriel and Lyngheid find enough to eat. Umbriel and Lyngheid are forced to break into their stock of rashes (subtract one from your inventory).
It is growing late in the day, and the woods are starting to get thicker, your pace slowing as it gets towards evening and the party stops to make camp.
Ireniana and Droop spend more time working on Droop's sword and bow skills. Is there anything anyone wants to do before going to rest for the evening?
Towards the evening, Baeshra will move away from the party and casting speak with animals as a ritual and trying to attract any animals he can find to find out whats going on around us in the woods or, if possible, the keep up ahead.
