"While we discuss our plans, do you think it's safe enough to rest for about an hour? I need to rejuvenate my connection to the beyond, so I can continue to be useful."
Lyngheid followed along with the questioning and nodded at the follow up querys then frowned as the retrieval of her cousin became even more difficult.....
Ireniana raises an eyebrow. "King Grol? Droop. Did he say if King Grol was a goblin, bugbear or something bigger?"
"King Grol is big and mean!"
It's only about 9:45, so a short rest would work nicely.
Droop will use Second Wind before his short rest: 1. And 1 hit die: 7
The party takes a short rest amongst the forest. Water/firewater is gulped. Small berries are consumed. It's now about 10:45 in the morning, Umbriel estimates 2 hours to Cragmaw Castle based on the map. How do you want to proceed?
While Umbriel is consulting the map, he'll look up and notice Whistler striding off into the forest. If he's going the right way, Umbriel will follow along, leading Pale by the bridle. If not, Umbriel will rush after Whistler and point him in the right direction, and then assume a position somewhere near the front of the group.
Rosie's face lights up at the mention of flowers. "Oh, that would be lovely to hear about! I do hope you stick with us for a while and we can talk all about the places you've been and flowers you've seen!"
Eventually she looks at Droop and Pale, with a quizzical expression, ' He'd need a ladder."
Droop stomps his foot. "Droop very tall for a goblin!"
Umbriel points Whistler in the right direction, and the party continues towards Cragmaw Castle. (Leaving the unconscious goblin prisoner there?) You get to within 500 yards of it and barely see part of it through occasional breaks in the trees, but can't make out any details. How does the party want to approach the castle?
While the group is resting, Nyx pulls out her flute and plays a little tune. Soft and hopeful.
As the reach Cragmaw. she kooks out of the woods at the castle and turns to the group.
"Do we know anything about this castle? I could always take a look for you if you wish? You get used to hiding and sneaking when your traveling on your own. Those Hobgoblin's just took me by surprise is all."
OCC: Nyx won't intervene with the prisoner goblin.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Baeshra will be a little ahead of the group, scouting the area and try and circle around the building to get an idea of the layout, recasting pass without trace to stay hidden.
(OOC: I think Baeshra and Nyx are the best two to scout and report back, so we can make a better decision about how to approach. The way I figure, the goblin will be out for a couple of hours, so given our travel time, that still puts him lost in the middle of the woods and alone, so we've got the advantage if he tries anything, and we'll be at the castle faster than he could get there and warn anyone.)

"Owlbear? Make Whistler happy to see friend again!" he mimics as he takes a swig of the trusty firewater.

You were, indeed, heading in the right direction!

Lyngheid is painfully aware how noisy she is and watches the two scouts head out.
(OCC: More than happy to test out my sneaking with Baeshra ;) )
