You stealthily creep around the building looking for signs of the airship. The sun is just beginning to peak over the...peaks of the mountains, and the air is still quite cold with a dew on everything.
You don't see any sign of the airship, but even with that perception check you can hear banging, clanging, and grunts coming from the water wheel area. It would appear they are still working on repairing it.
Airship:
Deselphine nods at the new instructions, and the ship travels for about 6 hours to skirt the valley, fly around the long range of mountains and stop about an hour from the mountain peak where the village lies beneath. Dawn arrives 2 hours into your journey. Deselphine puts the ship down in a saddle high up between two peaks, snow covers the ground and the wind blows quite cold. The crew gathers for warmth around the fire elemental trapped in the center of the ship that powers it.
Deselphine sends a few of the crew out to continue repairs, and gives a nod to Baeshra. "OK, go ahead and scout. We should be about an hour away." and she points you in the direction of the peak.
Baeshra sets off on his journey, make a Survival check to see if you can find the peak above the village.
The rest at the airship, what are you doing? Is anyone standing watch?
While Baeshra flies ahead, and Ireniana and Whistler are on watch, Umbriel stands near the bow of the ship, in a near trance-like state. Hands extended and held away from his sides by a few inches, tendrils of shadow waft out of his sleeves and dissipate just past his fingers. The darkness in the corners of the deck moves and dances with every turn of his head, and though it appears his eyes are closed, he cocks his head from time to time as if listening to something only he can hear.
She gives the dwarf a flat stare. "I doubt we could take two without the proper preparations. Giants are big and nasty, which is why you sneak past them. Something we have just failed to do, hence why we are in this predicament."

Baeshra-eagle unerringly finds his way to the right peak, and swoops down until he can see the village far below, and even further below that, the valley floor. With your perception check you see 5 giants working around the water wheel, another is patrolling the outer wall, and way down in the valley you see two giants at the foot of the stairs leading up to the village.
Meanwhile, back at the airship...
Whistler and Ireniana have been manning the ballistas for about an hour since Baeshra flew away and so far haven't noticed anything. Umbriel, however, hears something crunching through the snow on the far side of the saddle where you have parked. The noise gets your attention and you see two Frost Giants and a huge wolf charging toward the ship, about 150 feet away! Those at the ship roll initiative and take your turn if higher than: 1.

Baeshra swoops away back to the mountain side and scoops up a pair of 30lbs rocks before taking to the air again and circling around to the two giants standing guard, around 150 feet up. He then swoops straight down towards them for about 50 feet before dropping the stones at them and swooping back up and away.

" Aye, yer right. Still I'd rather be fighting than hiding...but we are a tad out matched."
She moved across to the doorway and risked a look outside.
(Hah! Different ways of getting to the same number. Also, assuming no extra damage for the crit.)
Oh, it probably should be double for the crit, I'll double the dice. The rocks rain down on the two giants, the first crashing into the Fire Giant's head and driving him to his knees. The second one bounces off the shoulder of the fire giant. They both look up, and the shoulder hit giant grabs the same boulder that hit him and throws it back at you, just at the edge of his range: 12
But it misses! You're now 230 feet above the giants, one is starting to pick himself up, the other is grabbing another rock. What do you want to do?

Ireniana could stand watch near one of the ballistas.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Whistler is on the other ballista.
Whistler - Lost Mines of Phandelver [Lvl 8 Barbarian] | Cinta Yuliani Lestari - My Island Home [Lvl 3 Fighter] | Shalana - Allansia Wildlands [Lvl 4 Monk] | Roger Durant - Storm King's Thunder [Lvl 8 Monster Hunter] | Rotthran - The Waterdeep Heist [Lvl 5 Thief]
Nyx creeps back to safety. "They are still trying to work on the water wheel... but I can't see the air ship anywhere yet."

" How many on the wheel? Could we take them? Can Fire Giants swim......"
" Otherwise its just foot massages and dead yaks until the others get back....maybe a back rub..."
Ireniana and Whistler, make Perception checks for your watches.
