Baeshra will listen at the door, if it sounds empty, he’ll carefully peek into the next room, “I think we should make sure we clear it now. If we leave and return, they may try and set an ambush for us. If you’d prefer to chase them away, I suggest simply bringing the staff with us and using it to show we’ve removed their leader and force them to surrender to the town’s judgement. I’m not inclined to let them just walk away after what they’ve done.”
Ireniana nods. "Yes, I'd rather run these fools out of town. Criminals are stupid and if we show them we took down their leader, they'll likely cave. If not, more practice for us."
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Lyngheid nodded, " Someone should take this stuff if they want it, they've no more use for it."
" Shall we move on? We don't want to get caught napping if someone comes in.", she said glumly.
She rubbed the side of her face, " Perhaps I'm a hypocrite....I don't feel bad about the goblins. But this was just such an utter needless waste....I can't think why someone would throw their and their partners life away for nothing."
She looked up, " Sorry, forgive an old...-er... dwarf her melancholy....perhaps I am more cut out for wedding planning than battle.."
Umbriel will take the staff and the studded leather armor, and the documents from the desk. "I agree with Baeshra and Ireniana - I think this staff will go a long way in encouraging these murderers to vacate the premises. I think it would be wise to identify this armor as well - it may prove to be quite valuable to one of us.*

Proxy Perception roll for Baeshra: 26
You hear faint bubbling and dripping sounds coming through the door. After listening for two minutes, you don't hear anything else and are pretty confident the room is empty. When you peak into the room you get a pretty good look. It appears to be a wizard's workshop. There is a large worktable set up with alembics, retorts, distillation coils, and other alchemical devices, all of it stewing and bubbling away. Bookshelves are crowded with sheaves of parchment and strange-looking tomes.

Do you have a way to identify the things, or are you suggesting to the group that someone identify it?
While everyone investigates and talks, Rosie sits on the floor for 10 minutes and ritual casts Detect Magic When Rosie overhears the armor mentioned, she jumps up, dusts off her hands, and says, "There, that should do it. I might be able to help with that!" She checks out the armor, the staff, and generally checks around the room.
OOC: I was already planning on doing that before getting to the part about that! So no need to suggest it.
I should also ask for clarification, it has been about 15 minutes since the battle ended and the group has been discussing and Rosie cast her ritual spell and Baeshra took a peak inside the next room.
Do you all want to continue another 45 minutes and take a short rest?
Rosie, you have 5 minutes left on your detect magic spell.
(OOC: I was thinking that if nobody in the group could do it, we could take the items into town to get identified - but Rosie's spell works just as well! Happy to distribute the items to whoever needs them, I only wanted to make sure they don't get left behind)
Umbriel sees what Rosie is doing, and says "Nice work! Take a quick look in the next room and see if anything glows, if you don't mind. I've a feeling it's all valuable, but there may be an item or two of considerable power that we don't want being left behind."

Rosie, you see a faint aura around the staff, the studded leather armor, and something coming from inside the wooden chest at the foot of the bed.
Rosie walks over to examine the chest.
OOC: What sort of magic is coming from the staff and armor?
KestrelEliot on Twitter
The chest looks pretty basic and it is unlocked.
The magic that you sense is all enchantment.
Rosie opens the chest.

Light glimmers and shines off of a batch of riches in the chest. It must contain the best pickings of the Redbrand's loot over the past few months.
You find a pouch of 220 silver pieces.
A pouch of 150 gold pieces.
A silk pouch containing 6 carnelians (10 gp each), three peridots (15 gp each) and one pearl (100 gp).
Through your spell you see two items that are glowing, both pieces of parchment rolled up.

"Sure! I'll see what I can find." Rosie collects the items from the chest, checks what the scrolls are, then quickly checks the next room over.

You can't make out what the first scroll's name is. You certainly can read the second one though. It is a scroll of Raise Dead.
Your Detect Magic doesn't pick anything up from the workshop.
Are you looking through the things in the workshop, or just looking into the room to see if your Detect Magic detects anything in there?
Baeshra will poke around the lab a little to see if there's anything useful for his herbalism kit.
Investigation: 17
(Good for short rest, but not necessary if no one else needs it.)
Baeshra finds quite a bit of things that would be useful for his herbalism kit (lots of different herbs, powders and liquids).
He also finds three vials containing: mercury, dragon bile, and powdered nightshade. These sell for about 25 GP at the local apothecary.
You also find a book that looks like it may be of interest, but it is written in Dwarvish.
"Oh, this scroll could be really useful someday! Can anyone read this other one?"
OOC: Just looking for magic at the moment

Umbriel and Baeshra see that the scroll you are holding up is a scroll of Charm Person.
