"Thanks proprietor, this looks like a lovely place you have here. I for one would love a room, but I think meal and drink before that," he slides 5 silvers to the innkeeper. It feels good to have coin to spend, and to not need to rely on others for a night.
Once they get situated in the dining room, Shamash would like to strike up conversations with some of least wealthy of the people in the common room. His experience is that the least powerful always need to know what the most powerful are up to, and so lots of useful information can come from the most rustic folk. He would just sort of ask for the gossip around town, what is good and bad for folk.
Yed will settle into a seat within The Stonehill Inn that is empty of anyone else, and that will give him a good view of the goings on of the rest of the Inn or dining area. He will have very quietly walked up to the blonde barmaid, and muttered softly for a room and a meal. Handing her two golds without waiting to hear her reply, he says his thanks under his breathe and heads back to his table. So in the corner on his own he will sit and wait quietly for his food, absentmindedly tracing shapes into the wooden table with his large finger. His eyes appear foggy and lost in his own mind as he settles in, the warm atmosphere of the Inn seeping into his bones.
The barmaid laughs. "I'm not the proprietor! That would be Toblen." She points to a young, short man behind the bar, before happily taking Shamash's and Yed's money. She's somewhat surprised at the amount Yed gives her.
Shamash, a draconic figure in martial armour, is quite the unusual figure in the homely inn. He sits down with an old farmer, who is initially somewhat frightened. Once they start talking, the farmer, who Shamash discovers is named Narth, is actually quite friendly. When Narth learns that Shamash is a servant of the gods, he says "While you're in town, you should visit the Shrine of Luck. Sister Garaele, who oversees the Shrine of Luck, recently left town for a few days, but she's back now. She returned wounded and exhausted, though, so I'm a bit worried for her.”
Yed sits down in the corner. Soon the barmaid returns with a large plate of meat and vegetables. Although he tries to stay as far away from other people as possible, a little boy soon runs up to his table. The child talks quickly and changes subject often, as though thinking about one thing for too long is boring. "Hi mister! Did you know my daddy owns this place? And I will too, when I grow up! Are you a stone golem? I've heard of them, big things made of living stone by evil mages! I've never met one of them before. My friend Carp Alderleaf says that stone can't be alive, but now I know it can! Carp is always saying silly things. Yesterday he told me he found a secret tunnel in the woods before Redbrands scared him off! Do you believe that, mister?"

Yed is shocked out his reverie at the approach of the child, he shakes it off quickly however as he takes in the boy speaking to him at a mile a minute. He looks to him with a gentle smile as he waits for the boy to finish his train of thought. “Those are all very great questions good sir.” The boy would then see Yed tap his chin in a very dramatic fashion, furrowing his brow and pursing his lips in as funny a fashion he can in his Goliath form. Then Yed smiles, showing a bright mouthful of shiny whites, and leans closer to the boy so their height difference is not as drastic. Then he says, “I did not know your father owned this fine establishment but it’s very comforting to know so. You and your family must be comfortable, that’s good. And yes owning it eventually would serve as good security for your future but why not leave those the decisions in the future when your sure of the passion you want to follow? But nevertheless it’s a really great place.” He gives the boy a wink and another smile at this as he continues in his distinctly soft but vibrant voice, “I’m not a stone golem but I’ve heard many stories of them, though they are not always made of evil magic dear Master, it can vary with the creator. They simply live to fulfill orders, slaves almost” Yed almost loses focus as he says the final part but quickly shakes it off and continues, “ But nevermind that! Your friend Carp sounds like an interesting fellow and if he’s your friend I think I’d give him the benefit of the doubt in believing his story. Why would he lie about having such a terrible experience, didn’t he only get a memory filled with fear out of it? What do you think young Master?” At which Yed will then look to the boy with a supportive smile, waiting for his reply. As he waits for his conversation partner to reply Yed will also dig in to his meal.
The barmaid smiles at Big Bear. "My name's Elsa, Mister Big Bear. If you don't mind me saying so, you look quite heroic. Perhaps you and your friends are a band of dashing adventurers, eh? Did you know that Orlane's very own Daran Edermath, the orchard keeper, used to be an adventurer? He killed a giant once!"
The child seems a bit confused by Yed's musings on the future, but he's soon back to yammering at the goliath. "I don't know, mister, but Carp is always saying silly things. Last week he told me that the sky is actually red, only the gods didn't like that so they painted it blue. Have you ever heard something so ridiculous, mister? But you're big and strong, mister, so I bet if you found that tunnel no dirty bandit would scare you away. Oh, by the way, my name's Pip. What's yours?" Pip extends a hand no bigger than two of Yed's fingers.
The farmer Narth invites an old lady called Freda to join him and Shamash. Before long, the conversation turns to the Redbrands. The villagers speak in hushed tones. “The Redbrands are hassling every business in town. It's past time someone dealt with them, though I wouldn't want to end up like Thel, poor bastard." Freda nods her head and replies. "That's right, every business except for the Miner’s Exchange. They don’t want trouble with Halia Thornton. Not that she helps anyone else out.”

Big Bear blushes at the barmaid saying he looks heroic, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand, "Aww, shucks miss. Thank you for the compliment, but I'm just an old farm boy looking to see the wide, wild world. My crew and I were just doing a job for some folks in town. Elsa is a very pretty name if I do say so myself. You mentioned a giant slaying Orchard keeper? Is that THE Daran Edermath?!"
Elsa looks down, still smiling. "You've heard of Daran, then? Well I'm quite sure one day you'll be even more famous than him, especially since you're so nice."
Doc overhears some miners talking. “Have you heard about the orc raiders moving in on the east end of Triboar Trail? The townmaster is looking for someone to run them off, even put a sizeable bounty up.”

Pip smiles with glee. "That sounds like a great idea, mister! If there really is a secret tunnel, I'd sure like to know where it leads, and if there's not you can tell Carp that he's a silly boy!"
