Mongo, using his substantial weight, sits right down in front of one of the closed doors, and leans his back into the door, effectively pinning the door shut. He quickly shuts down (or appears to be shut down), and takes a sentry's rest.
John Lee's eyes pop open, looking up at Taels as pain shoots through his body while the healing powers do their work. With a slow drawl, he offers a simple, "Sonnnuva *****, that hurt." He nods in approval of the idea of a short rest. "Thanks, dear. I needed that for sure."

Kit nods. "Agreed. A quick rest, then we'll keep moving. And thanks for the healing, Taeli." The changeling spends her rest keeping a watchful eye on the doors and checking her bow to make sure it's in full working order.
Kit glanced up as her brother walked into the room. Tun was in his Devon form at the moment, meaning he was pretending to check in on his operation as Guild of Knives leader. She raised an eyebrow. "And what do you need, oh grand and wise leader?"
Tun smirked. "Just making sure you're ready for tonight."
Kit flattened her lips into a thin little line. "Of course I'm ready. I was doing this before you, remember, Devon? It's a quick in and out, pop the vault, then lay the evidence."
"I just hope you aren't feeling squeamish. We may have to kill a few guards tonight."
"Only as an absolute necessity," Kit returned tartly. "Now stop acting superior and go change."
"Yes, Delilah." With another insufferable smirk, Tun slipped out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Kit groaned, glaring at her bowstring. "Why did you have to raise him to be such an insufferable *******, Jan?" she muttered to herself before stringing the bow in a single smooth movement. With a thought, her appearance shifted into her elemental appearance - Astra today, the pale haired elf suited for infiltration and stealth. A moment later, the door opened again, and Tun entered, now in his elemental disguise, a half-elf with black hair and piercing blue eyes. Kit stood. "All right, shall we?"
Tun grinned, the excitement and anticipation in his expression awakening a similar spark in Kit. "The treasury won't know what hit it. Especially when the Council of Four find that evidence that Duke Belt was responsible for the theft - and has been embezzling for months. Shall we go destroy his world?"
When they had agreed to take a short rest, Amelia sat herself down against the wall where she had vision on any entrances, just in case. After a few moments of silence, Amelia decides to start some sort of conversation between the group, just for the time to pass a little quicker. "So... This is going pretty well, isn't it? Whatcha think we're gonna face next?"

Kit nods. "I'm guessing the theme of this particular level is fiends. So we'll probably be dealing with quite a few more of those until we get out of this level."
"My pleasure.."Taeli smiled after everyone had healed up. "I agree - this level seems to be some sort of..prison? Training grounds? For fiends."She disarmed herself and sat down against the wall. She sighed.
"Where I come from, our world is ruled by a vast omniscient artificial intelligence. Cold, cunning, ruthless, and calculating. When I was young, that is the way it was, always. From birth, you were told we have no kings, no queens, only the dictatorship of an entity from which no one would dare stand against. Few would be allowed to gaze upon it, for our ruler, what I was told, was a vast entity - a living machine. I learned the art of medicine because I love healing people, but in the military we fought against enemies of the Machine God. Years and years of strife and conflict. It was only through escaping and being graced with the knowledge of Pelor did I once again find purpose."

You have to pass through room 12 to get to room 13, so here's what happens.
Mongo: As you place your ear on the door leading to room 13, a gravitational force grabs you and violently slams you against the ceiling, holds you there for a moment, and then releases you, allowing you to free fall down to the floor. You take 23 bludgeoning damage. The door to room 13 is unlocked, and you can hear no noise coming from it.
Taeli looked surprised. "As woman of faith, I have to admit that I did not."She looked around to the others, confused. "Is that something we should have brought along with us?"
This ruined chamber has tapestries and paintings that have been slashed and are shot through with black mold. The fine furnishings and cushions are rotted through and crumbling, and the air is heavy with the scent of decay. The ghost of a dead adventurer is here, and upon entering the room, screams, "Death to all allies of the Red Wizards!!!" and rushes to attack you all.
"A short rest would be in order - any longer, and we most likely risk a possible patrol." Taeli suggested.

Dead quiet.
Mongo to Taeli: “That’s because we living machines are superior to fleshlings....duh.”
Mongo gently nudges Rosamia away from the door, and deadpans “Let me take this trap...” as he opens the door to room 13.
