You teleport to a random other pillar in the same room. A flash of electricity goes off at that pole, but you are undamaged. For now. Taeli waves at you from the far end of the room.

Kit glares at the pillar and steps away from it, batting static out of her hair. "Okay, not going to touch that anymore."

"Huh..." Amelia looks up one of the pillars (at a safe distance). "So what's the point of these things if it just... teleports you to the other end of the room?"

"I mean, it also zaps you." Kit glares at the pillar again. "This whole place is...weird. Maybe they had another purpose, but time's decayed that?"

"Maybe. But none of us are wizards, so should we get to the next room?"

"Maybe it's still a work-in-progress, and they're trying to work the kinks out of the system?" Mongo adds, as he stealthily marches to the next room.

"Well we're not here to participate in someone's science project, so let's get going."

Kit nods in agreement and heads for the next room.

AREA 89 - THE TRANSMUTATION PITS

Two sides of this chamber have collapsed to form shallow, rough-walled pits filled with clay. Near the northern and southern corners are circles of sigils that glow with red light. In the eastern corner is a small array of urns and boxes. A Red Wizard transmuter is working here with a dwarf on a clay.

"It looks like we're showing up at a bad time. I think that these two are in the middle of pottery class."
